Coach Nick identifies an action every team runs called "Get" and why it's so devastating to the defense. When two players converge at high speed, the defense has to make some quick decisions, usually they don't work out.

Damn you really showed every team here. Great breakdown Coach. Still putting out bangers ✌️
Lmao, just about….!!
Every team but LeBron's team 😂
@@Tegridy6they run dribble handoffs too whether is dlo or Reaves with LeBron or ad or LeBron with ad or wood.

nice to see all my fav basketball channels are best friends forever
as my son is growing up fast (now 5), I will be his first b-ball coach. I have gotta do my homework and re-watch all your videos, Coach Nick. XD
Awesome!! Keep me updated
To see this play with Draymond opened my eyes why he is so invaluable. He so often uses this play to fake of the pass and then drive and kick or layup himself. Plays in realtime are hard to decypher sometimes, so this here makes it very transparent. When two players know each other as well as all of these pairs do, it is almost automatic and beauty in motion.
This action in the pinch post is one of the reasons why I like the Triangle Offense, as well as Horns, so much.
As a triangle coach, it was always our best action. And we used to start giggling when we realized the other team was gonna let us catch the ball at the elbow.. we knew it was over
So glad you started using THE music again coach. 😂
This is the great equalizer when your players are skilled but not as athletic as the other team! As Steven Nash said “I’m not the fastest, but I decide when the race starts!”
Love this
Over the years, I’ve heard JJ Redick refer to this action on his podcast as “chase” action, hence the original handler chases his own pass
I like that!!
Yes off Pistol action many call that “chase”
Coach can u do a video on Klay Thompson's struggles?
Also wiggins
Klay more washed then the Thompson river
Klay Struggles is all mental.. He is chasing his PRIME self.. Instead of just adapting to his NEW SELF, and take the easy ones first.. He still thinks he can be circus highlight Klay and rushes his shot selections. He instead needs to be more patient and LOGICAL KLAY.. Build up rhythm with SMART, tactical shot making.. Too many tough shot attempts his hurting the warriors.. Watch and pay attention the next time he plays and come back to this post..
@@blackroyaltymgmt5195facts
@@blackroyaltymgmt5195i mean thats why he washed he chasing his former self.
Great video coach, many thanks!
Can you do a part 2 where you show people actually doing well defending this? I feel like I’ve seen Caruso do a good job
Ooohh. That’s an interesting idea
very good video. really opened my eyes
The NBA Courts Looks So Ugly During The NBA In Season Tomarment
Great vid, coach. I know coach Geno from Uconn loves this action.
Is that right? I gotta check out UConn anyway, another reason
This is a great great video coach. Thank you so much for your quality analytical content with explanations that are understandable 👍👍👍
My pleasure! Thx for watching
GS really changed basketball ❤️
11:00 is an action called “turn” Suns use it a lot, basically a screener flips their screen at the last second to free up the defender to receive the hand off
Magic used to do this a lot with everyone from Kareem to AC to Byron. Doing it when he inbounded after the other team made a basket and he'd pick it back up with speed was one thing they'd do on their crazy show time runs where they'd turn the game going like 20-5 during a stretch
Oh man, took a break from watching your channel because of the endless rhymes, but I took a chance and I’m glad I did. Back to giving great information without and gimmicks
Thanks for coming back! And fwiw, the rhyming was just on Saturdays, 😂
DUBS GOT TIME TO GET IT TOGETHER
Wish i could do this in my park runs but people dont watch basketball like that
I think you can! Just run at the guy you passed it to and basically force him to hand it back
I try to get people to do this during pickup games but nobody knows what they are doing. It's frustrating.
Because it’s a pickup game?
I think if u followed your pass back with your hands ready for the pass back, they’d figure it out but I hear ya
@@bballbreakdown I'm the one offering to set the pick. I call for the ball, tell them to run off me, and they look at me like I am speaking Chinese.
Kyle Lowry calls this GYATT action. IFYKYK.
thats gay
Ayyooo.
According to stats, most unstoppable is handoff pick and roll by Huerter and Sabonis
This is the most basic fundamental wall pass action from soccer, just with more control (because you're using your hands, duh). It's how you accomplish all kinds of feats to create a scoring chance in soccer, when the odds can be something like 3 on 5 or 4 on 7 for an outnumbered offense. Discovering good wall passing was when me and my bro started really enjoying pick up soccer.
I really hope it becomes more prominent in the NBA, as you're hoping Coach Nick!
Haven’t watched this channel in 2 years, still using the same background music 😂 never change bballbreakdown
Why the long break? And u should see how people react when I don’t use this music (which is often, these days)
Using this for sure
As a Heat fan. I'm glad Max Strus is thriving as a reliable starter on his new team. 💯💪
Somebody please send this to Darvin Ham 😪
Coach can you do a video on the Orlando Magic and their success??
I remember when the defense use to elevate with the offense to block layups. I’m talking about the Jordan era when the defense wasnt castrated. Isaiah Thomas is right about how the league changed the rules to market the dunks for MJ. Thomas said that’s when Jordan started to win. Before the rules, Chicago couldn’t get out of the 1st round of the playoffs. I can’t imagine how brutal the game was during the Bill Russell Celtics era if the Jordan 90s were handicapped to allow more offense.
And thats when MJ developed his jumper?
If the defender could get up high and strong enough to block a dunker's ball cleanly, sure, fans love such highlights as much as a dunker would slam it in someone's face. But the Bad Boy Pistons literally bodyslammed MJ to the ground repeatedly - i.e. dirty plays. I'd hardly call that "changing the rules to market dunks". There's a fair balance that should be implemented.
Didn't he develop the jumper during the second 3-peat?@@arguseyed9982
Bird's Celtics were just as dirty. Laimbeer didn't invent it@@yahozak
Can’t believe the bulls don’t use this at all with LaVine…smh
Steph and draymond are so good at it cause it’s a moving screen every time
Damn, all but one hit 5:03
I love this music
Clarity is your thing coach ❤
🙏🏀🙏
High Iq matters in every era. High IQ on defense, offense and consistency leads to championships. Ball movement and off ball movement never fails.
Ayo!! Break Down Reed Sheppard’s tape quick!! Twitter is trending and a video can easily cash in on the rush
Bballbreakdown for Ham, who says no
Why are handoffs better than regular pnr for opening up shots?
The initiator gets more of a running start at it, the screener/passer can take it, and there is less ball handling skill required, and you can initiate it in more ways. It also sets the initiator up for a catch and shoot opportunity. Fewer are as good at shooting off the dribble.
You can even first do a handoff, then into a PnR. Or chain Handoffs.
Because you’re catching the ball at full speed and most likely have your man behind you chasing already
He gets it
Before I even clicked on the video I screamed “DHOOOOOOO” with a big smile on my face
Lmaoooooooo
It would be fair to note that a good majority of the screens are violations (moving screens).
Traveling is 10x's worse
Finally a curry vid
whoa, Wizards call plays?
I thought it's only give the ball to Poole or Kuz and move out of the way.
Yooo Can You Explain To Me How The Ruined The Game of Basketball Especially The NBA is Definitely Ruined By Somebody That Doesn't Know Basketball Too Well
In football (soccer) it’s called a 1-2 (one two)
Football and soccer are two different sports
@@loudmein6591yea one is actually played with feet and a ball while the other is played with an egg and mostly with hands

Have you seen what an egg looks like? Do you need glasses because a rugby ball is more of an egg shape🤡

Same handoff action from booker’s game winner tonight

Pass and screen action
Well, I’d say it’s a little closer to pass and cut, or give and go
MY TEAMATES NEVER PASS BACK TO ME AND NEVER RUN GET ACTION
I thought this was Pistol? Or is Pistol a subset of Get?
Get can be a subset of Pistol.
