Summer Tanager eating the long chain of midge flies on the spider's web 9:15 was awesome! Great video all around, and great footage of the birds. Good Birding to you!
Just brilliant to watch this, brings back long ago (1984) memories of two spring birding trips to Pt Pelee and Long Point in Ontario. 1st day saw 6 spp of warbler in the same tree!!
This deserves 1,000,000 views! The high quality footage along with intimate knowledge of the bird ecology you bring, as well as the always-positive attitudes and fun sense of adventure... I have never seen a bird eating a whole web of snacky-doo-dums --Wow! Thanks for brightening my day. Peace
I can't tell y'all how cool it is to see our recently departed bird friends, all the way up there in the frozen north of Wisconsin. Literally, only a couple birds on your fabulous list that were not just here. I still have Tennessee Warblers on my banana feeders as of this morning. I really like observing them in such strikingly different habitats than here. Also, thank you very much indeed for including the range maps all the way down to the end of their range. ie.. Central and South America. So many videos only show distribution within the United States. That was a great day of birding!
@@BadgerlandBirding I feed them plenty of Bananas too, keeps them nice and fat for the journey. My banana bill is fixing to drop way down, we go through them by the crate.
*Wow*! They're all so *colourful*! What a fabulous day you had, in a beautiful location and with such a cooperative group of like minded people. I'm just in awe of those stunning little birds and I was happy to see that darling little Kinglet too. From a rather damp and grey UK, Thankyou for bringing me those uplifting flashes of colour! 👍 🤗
this is such a nice video to watch. The birds have left us here in the Caribbean and headding up to you guys. I'm glad you're enjoying them. you just showed me many species that I hope to see where I'm from. Last November we caught a Blackpoll Warbler while bird netting.
@@BadgerlandBirding I would say mainly terrestrial birds, both migratory and resident. Every island doesn't have a bird banding program but sometimes it's done for threatened or endangered species.
It’s nice that they arrive there when there are not too many leaves on the trees yet. It makes them easier to spot. Great video! You got a lot of beautiful birds in one day.
Definitely a lot of good looks at several warblers there in Milwaukee. I was just a Magee Marsh a couple days and because it was cold and windy after a long rain at first not much was seen. When the day warmed a bit we had good looks at a Magnolia warbler which was a first for me. Also several other striking birds besides the warblers. Warbling vireo, Rose-breasted grosbeak and Baltimore oriole to name a few of them.
You were on a Warbler Watching High for sure! And how nice to hear you appreciate like-minded people helping you out instead of complaining of folks scaring the birds or blocking the view. So many of our finds are based on tips aren't they?! Birders love to share.
Warblers are absolutely my favorite birds to chase. I take three weeks of vacation just to chase them, and so far have took pics of 30 different ones here in Tennessee this spring.
We are originally from Beloit and N Illinois. We love to see your videos of the birds and landscapes of where we used to live. We did see the lazuli bunting, but in April here in SW. We did make note of it in the May challenge video just for your reference.
Thanks for sharing! Warnimont has been amazing this spring. I popped by Wilson Park on the south side today and it was absolutely wild with warblers and other migrants- I saw my first ever Blackburnian and Northern Parula. Highly recommend heading over!
The scarlet tanager is so pretty hope I get to see one ! You hit the mother load today or when you went I should say ! The summer tanager looks a lot like a fall leaf in New England 😆
Oh my goodness, those were some beautiful warblers!! So many different ones! I love watching your videos!! Always so many birds and sooo fun to watch!! Thanks Ryan once again, great video!!
Your vids get me SO fired up all over again :) I was just in South Padre Island during the only 'small' fallout of the year (April the 26th, 2022), and the first bird I found, was a mature Summer Tanager :) It was super chill, and let me take shots from 10ft, which filled the frame :) Over the next 5 hours, the birds increased by 500% ! I got close to 20 lifers that day, with great shots of most of them... but I'm kind of a newbie at this, so maybe that's not such a big deal :) But it was to me though :) lol Thank you for the great video :)
It's been a weird spring here so far. We have had those few days of great warblers, many random rarities, but on the whole it's been slow for warblers other than this
@@BadgerlandBirding So, actually, there are 10, but I have a terrible memory and forgot 4. Nashville, Yellow-rumped, Orange-crowned, Townsend's, MacGillivray's, Yellow, and the 4 I forgot, Wilson's, American Redstart, Common Yellowthroat, and Northern Waterthrush.
Great to see you enjoying the warblers in my neck of the woods. I live right off the oak leaf trail 1/4 mile south of Warnimont park. With yesterdays rain gone, I’ll definitely be out there after work looking for more warblers myself. So far I’ve only seen Yellow-rumped, Yellow, Orange-crowned, Pine and Palm. I’d love to see any of the others you happened upon. Thanks for sharing your good fortune and continued enthusiasm.
This Saturday I am heading over to the Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve (from Minnesota) for a baby shower and hoping some of these warblers will be present. I have only seen a few butterbutts and orange crowned up here so far this year.
Here in Edmonton we are mostly getting White-Crowned Sparrows, White-Throated Sparrows, etc. In our neighbourhood, we even have a flock of Common Grackles!! By the way, congratulations on your finds, the Hooded Warbler was very cool! Keep up the great content!!!
Great video! I get so excited when I see all those different birds. I'm hoping to see some new species this spring, and some of my favorites, like the hooded warbler. My goal is to get a half decent picture of one.
Wow. What a day. I don’t see many in our Georgia winters - but with this vlog, I’ve learned where to look. This winter, I had a feisty Yellow-rumped female that visited my feeder regularly. And on the coast, I saw a Black-and-White. Would love to see a Scarlet Tanager. They do pop up on the eBird rare bird email. Maybe one day🤞. They are such cute, colorful busy birds. You were lucky to see so many.
What a great video! It was really nice to sit back and watch y’all find so many beautiful birds. Y’all saw a lot of sparrows too. I kept expecting you to spot the Savanna Sparrow from this month’s challenge. Thanks for taking us along on your outing :-)
I had a great day of birding on Sunday with the first warblers moving through our are in Ohio. There’s a very small Wood lot that’s very special. It’s such and unbelievably small are for how many migratory birds go through there. I had 15 species of warblers with the best being bay breasted and black throated blue. I also had close to all the viroes that come through here in the spring. I’m going back tonight to try to find some more species as there always hooded warblers that stay there and they should have arrived by now. Warblers are my favorite birds to watch and this time of the year is always exciting. Great video 👍
That is a successful treasure hunt! Amazing number of warblers. Had a day like that this last month at Fort Desoto on the west coast of Florida. Thumbs up for habitat conservation.
Warblers are weird… sometimes flat out hate them… went for a Pallas warbler waited for around two hours to get terrible views then waited another seven to get no views… then I returned a few days later as a ring necked was reported and got amazing views of a Siberian chiffchaff while watching and then he fantastic views of the pallas and later get great views of the ring necked duck and a scaup on the way back… Warblers decide when they want you to see them. Also no exaggeration about waiting for seven hours- saw it at 10 : 20 and left the reserve at 5 : 15 (17 : 15)
Warbler time is so exciting! I’m hoping to road trip out to the Magee Marsh Ohio hotspot as often as possible in the next couple weeks. I’m so excited you got to see a Kentucky 😄.

Indeed. Now we wait for the next one!
Seeing videos of birds is so helpful as opposed to pictures in guides. I love watching the behaviors of all the different birds!
