When I first got into tarot I bought my own deck (I bought the cheapest one i could find cause I'm broke lol), and it didnt really click with me, but when my mum gave me her old deck from when she was my age, I felt an instant connection! This just shows how important choosing the right one is. If you dont have the money, you can always make your own!
I agree! I was raised in a religious household where tarot was said to be the devil and I felt guilty & shameful because I was always drawn to it! Thank goodness I finally didn’t give a crap anymore and researched things myself and I’m glad I did!!!
There was a time that I was playing with just playing cards, they tryed to talk to me. So I think I would be able to pick it up quickly like its a talent/gifted. Most people couldn't read yet the pictures in the tarot where easily consulted.
OMgoodness!! When you were talking about tarot being perceived as evil it made me think of someone close to me who when I asked for a set of tarot cards for the holidays asked me 'why? So u can summon the devil?' Im like you, I dont have the patience for that. Educate yourself so youre not ignorant of the subject!! But thats close mindedness for you and fear of something different. How she learned by making flash cards of the numbers, then court cards, etc then started using the cards themselves as flashcards for the whole picture, that's exactly what im doing! LOL so that made me feel like I'm on the right trajectory. 👍🏾

Excellent video! You summed Tarot up beautifully. I was given a Rider Waite Smith deck from a friend when I was 19; strangely, I didn't actually delve into the world of Tarot until a couple of years later when I was dealing with a lot of emotional conflict and was desperate for guidance. I knew the timing was spot on when the first card I flipped over was the high priestess. ♥ Now 8 years and 3 decks later, It's become one of the main things I do to keep myself grounded and it usually gets me to look inward at how I'm doing spiritually and otherwise.
WOW! That's so cool! I totally agree tarot is such a grounding practice! Do you have the Dreams of Gaia deck? I find that one to be sooooo good at diving into my subconscious mind :)

Oh wow this amazes me I just starting reading tarot and the deck that my imtuition picked for me is the wild unknown. I absolutely love it so far. ♥️♥️♥️.
at first i was quite worried with all the people online saying when you get a new deck to pick a deck that you feel connected to, because i didn't feel the connection i simply went online and just picked the cheapest one. however! when it arrived, that day i felt so much energy after i cleansed and charged them and i felt so connected to my deck and couldn't keep my patience, i just had to open it and greet the cards.
My 1st was the guilted tarot and a bunny miniature deck and they are my favorites. I thought the guilted was absolutely beautiful and the bunny deck was so cute. I have never been able to connect with the rider Waite smith decks. I have one but just couldn’t connect. The book with the guilted was awesome. Plus I used many books. Once I “leveled up” I started reading the images and my readings were even better.
I bought a Celtic style based off of Rider the mini size deck about 10 years ago.. the instructions were written in old English and I didn’t connect to them. About 8 months ago I bought the mermaid deck by leeza Robertson and I do such great readings with them, I also got the modern witch deck to help me learn the meanings of the cards. I use either one depending on the type of reading. Sometimes I’ll start a reading and I can feel in my soul like I’m not connecting and the cards I’m pulling aren’t making sense, and I’ll switch decks and all Of a sudden I do a great reading. I still don’t have all of the meanings memorized but sometimes I can feel what they mean also by the numbers and the sets. I’ll write down what I pulled and I wrote down my own meanings to connect to them I analyze it myself. But I’m learning more each time. I wrote down simple meanings like one or two words based from the deck books and online definitions, I also wrote all the meanings for the numbers separately, and the astrology meanings. I usually do one or two daily. I’m getting better, most people say my readings are on point. Mostly friends and family. I want to become good enough to even be able to read people I don’t know personally.

Hi, I so agree with what you believe ,when it comes to Energy , where our focus is our Energy is , and if our focus is fear, disbelieve, our Energy is projected out, so it makes for some not so positive vibes . When I do a card reading, I first need the person to focus on and with me so our Energy can connect . Its ok if some people do not believe in Tarot, but let the people who do believe in Divine Guidance threw the cards, protect their own energy ,peacefully.

The Rider Waite deck doesn’t resonate with me 🤦🏻♀️ even though it’s colourful I feel it’s dark and not very inviting. Idk 😐 so I’m looking for another deck that would make me want to learn haha...thank you for the video 🥰
I recommend the ethereal visions illuminated tarot deck! I feel like the imagery is similar to the vibes in the rider Waite-smith deck but way more dreamy and art nouveau styled

Most people don't gravitate toward RW, it looks like a child painted it. If consumers don't like the imagery, they won't use them. The Good Tarot is based on RW without the "dark" look, actually it's quite the opposite, mystical, whimsical.
QUESTIONZ! What were the decks before rider-waite? Decades ago, as a child - 7-8yo -I got my first deck or tarot cards. The pictures were many of them similar, but older and more plain. I think they were copies of a 1700’s deck They were big, cardboard *cards* (in Finland we understand ”card” as a post card, unless there are playing cards, or calling cards, in the vicinity.) and my hands were too small to shuffle the whole pack at once😂🃏 So now half of it is lost😕 Hey beautiful lady! I’m new to Tarot and I’m currently using the guide book that comes with the Pamela Colman Smith illustrated deck (I don’t care to call it by any other name) and I’m having trouble interpreting the cards to be anything other than negative. For example, I’ll pull a good card but it will be reversed and have a negative meaning.. I can’t seem to get passed this mindset of following the rules of the guide book. I really want to like this and enjoy tarot without fear. Any advice?

I’m new to Tarot and I’m currently using the guide book that comes with the Pamela Colman Smith illustrated deck (I don’t care to call it by any other name) and I’m having trouble interpreting the cards to be anything other than negative. For example, I’ll pull a good card but it will be reversed and have a negative meaning.. I can’t seem to get passed this mindset of following the rules of the guide book. I really want to like this and enjoy tarot without fear. Any advice?
