In their 10th Anniversary Tour finale last November at Yokohama Arena, Miku took the spotlight at center stage and started banging out power chords at high volume. It wasn't anything Kanami would typically play, but it's exactly what most of us would play! Twisting that volume knob as far as it will go and making noise. After a moment Akane started a drum pattern, the rest of the band came in, and you suddenly realize they have started *"Influencer."* It made me proud of her, like an uncle seeing their little pigeon take flight!
The thing about the "small pigeon" persona that's so "Miku" - usually anime characters chose something cute and cuddly as their avatar, not an urban flying pest! Then again, a dove is a small pigeon and a dove is not a pest, po. When you finish these documentaries, you should go to a TH-cam channel called "Japan in Motion" where they have a number of episodes with Miku hosting travelogues to various parts of Japan. They are very informative and Miku is definitely a born entertainer!
I have seen some clips from Japan in Motion and I wanna watch the 3 episode's Miku Po is in, they also had the highest view count with her appearance 😊

Sofi, another funny about Po. When Band-Maid performed in Atlanta, one of the fans had "Po" towels made to the fans and to the band on the stage. Po is the abbreviation for Polonium on the Chemical periodic table. Miku was completely confused about the towel and Saiki had to explain it to her. Everyone laughed. I still have my Po towel from being there. Great souvenir.

The 2 best of albums are a great way to get a flavour of them over the years. My favourite album is Conqueror which is the other one you mentioned which you can get in 3 different versions although the tracks are the same but 2 have extras, Sai -chan comes with a dvd of three songs and Miku with her tongue out has a blu ray of the three songs. There were 3 other versions with Kanami, Misa and Akane as the cover art but you can't get them for love nor money any longer. A few of their albums are available from Amazon UK at very reasonable prices.

@@FaroSofi Conqueror, World Domination and Just Bring It are a snip on Amazon, all superb albums. Even Brand New Maid EP (9 tracks) is reasonable and is the 'changing of the guard' album with Kanami's first composition (Alone) and Miku's first lyrics (yaragu, freedom and alone) and is also excellent as a whole.
Kanami taught Miku how to play guitar.
Welcome Home Princess Sofi! I hope everything is wonderful with you, and of course, your whole family. I'm happy to see that you are continuing with the Miku documentaries. I'll be interested to see your reaction to Omajinai Time (Magic Spell Time) it is hard to explain but Ohrenje does a pretty good job with it. No two Omajinai Times are ever the same which really shows Miku's talent for entertainment in comedy and improvisation. As Miku will tell you, Omajinai Time is the most important time in the Okyu-ji (serving, which is what Band Maid calls concerts).
I can't really pick a favorite album from them. It's kind of like picking a favorite member of Band Maid. I tend to prefer more complex arrangements, so I really loved "Unseen World" and "Unleash!!!!!" but I still love "Just Bring It" and "World Domination" and "Conqueror" as much. I'll just say that all of their music is great.
I'm looking forward to seeing your next video. You will learn some more surprising things about our favorite pigeon. She is quite a unique character. Please take very good care of yourself and have a wonderful week.

🚂-I have all their CD's and DVD's and love them all for different times and moods,but I always thought if my house was on fire and could only grab one it most likely would be "CONQUEROR" PO! Love your videos!!!!! 🕊🍌🍻☕⚾
A loud minority of fans complained about Conqueror when it first came out because it wasn't World Domination part 2. Now it seems to be everyone's favorite. The lesson here is to always trust Band-Maid. They know what's best.
BTW, Conqueror would probably be the one I'd save, too. I love all Band-Maid, but that's the one I have listened to the most.
Personally I think Conqueror is their best album as an overall package. I'd sort of describe it as their experimental album and in that way it's a bit less focused than Just Bring It, World Domination or Unseen World but I think it's the best overall sampling of what they can do. I'd even put it above the 10th Anniversary Collection which obviously has more top hits.
Conqueror has several of their iconic songs; Endless Story, Glory, Mirage, Wonderland and Bubble. It also has two of their hardest songs; Blooming and Rinne. Where the album really shines in the deep cuts though;
Dilemma - an uplifting sorta coming of age sounding song with some of Akane's best drum fills.
Azure - basically a refined throw back to their earlier pop punk roots on of their rare entirely Japanese songs with some fun vocal trades between Saiki and Miku
Liberal - a song that I think gets overlooked just because of how great Saiki's vocals are one Wonderland, but it has coloring of that same sorta breathless vocal character.
The album also boldly chooses to open on Page, which is sort of Band-Maid's take on a country song and includes a proper blues song, The Dragon Cries (which admittedly the community has split opinions on). There are really only two songs on this 15 track album I'd cut;
At the Drop of a Hat - a perfectly fine song, but the only one here that feels like album filler.
Flying High - an actually FANTASTIC deep cut with awesome Miku screams, but one that is unfortunately outclassed by their later release, Why Why Why.
The only thing Conqueror lacks is a song that's about something weird (JBI has OPARTS a song describing the process of self improvement through the lens of out of place objects , WD has Dead or Alive a song about crypto currency and Unseen World has Giovanni a song vaguely about a particular book) and a proper Miku song (JBI has Time, WD has Rock in Me and Unseen World has Sayonakidori).
Tbh at this point I want all of them😆

I wouldn't tell you which CD album to get....as they are all great to me..and so I have them all..Maybe take a look at what tracks are on the albums and see which setlist you feel you would like or want to hear (if you don't know them)..As music is subjective..what one person likes..another may not..same for styles of music as the MAID's do cover a variety of genres..Also..the postage from Japan to UK is NOT CHEAP!...I know it may not be best for the band to buy from home..But buying from a source closer to home will allow you to buy more than one album...OK..maybe not the limited editions..but you'll get to have more than one album...Plus if getting the limited edition check which it is..As there are DVD and Blu-ray versions..(tracks lists can also vary slightly from one to another).Unless you have a Blu-ray player..you'll need to buy one if you by the Blu-rays (as I did).
I actually talked about this on my video today, but Yh I agree. I have weighted out all my options and have divided it, Amazon JP is definitely cheaper for the limited ED stuff while UK is cheaper for the normal ones.
I unfortunately don't have a Blu-ray but I have family members who do, they are more than happy for me to borrow it until I have my own😊

I believe that the "pidgeon persona" has become part of her, but in real life she is very intelligent, and catches on to how things work very quickly, which in the narcissistic monster which has become the music industry has served her quite well, they have jumped labels 3or4 times in their 10 year run , till they finally got the artistic control they needed to survive and flourish

I like Conquerer as a choice. That said, The Best of would be awesome.
The best representation of Miku as a singer/guitarist is the Acoustic version of Sayonakidori. th-cam.com/video/sGzAQigaL14/w-d-xo.html ... It's only Miku (guitar/Vocals) Akane (drums) and MISA(Bass). A great performance.

Yes, Miku didn't know how to play any instrument when she started the band. 8 years later, shevhad her very own signature guitar - The Flappy Pigeon made by Zemaitis with design help from Miku herself! 😊🕊🎸
Lovely reaction as always. You will get a lot of different album recommendations based on personal preferences which might be a bit confusing. They are all great and I have them all. My personal favorite is Unseen World - the absolute masterpiece of them so far IMHO. But it's a rather frenetic and challenging one and I'm not sure if I would recommend this if you just can buy one. So if you can afford only one, I would strongly recommend to go with the greatest hits Volume 1 & 2. It gives you the best overview over the immense amount of excellent songs of different styles. And the songs are selected by the Band-Member so you can assume that this is a collection they think present them well too. If volume 1&2 to expensive too then I would probably recommend Conqueror as it has the biggest variety of different styles - and is a masterpiece as well of course . Enjoy you journey!
Tbh I really want all of them, but I will be patient and get the once's I am interested in first, which are the one's I mentioned on my video😊
But once I am more into their music I will give the rest of their albums a try. everyone's comment have definitely helped me out alot 💞

Yeah, if you watch thrill. The guitar is literally a prop I mean I think she was learning at that point but throughout the video she just holds it the entire time I don’t think she strums once period to me though that’s what so amazing about this band. in America that wouldn’t be tolerated. It’s like you couldn’t fulfill the role as a singer and you can’t play an instrument you’re out. So to me that shows how amazing these ladies are.
It seems universal common wisdom that she's not yet playing then, but watch Thrill starting at 3 : 18… Go young pigeon, learn to fly!
Live videos from that time period show that she could play a little bit, but she was limited to a few chords at most.
As far as bands here in the USA go, considering how bad most are, I'd say it would have been tolerated.

As for what CD's to get, I have the Best-of's, Conqueror, Unleash!, and World Domination. I'm planning on getting ALL of the Ladies CD's, plus the DVD's if I can. I also have the BD of their 2023 TGT performance and I'm waiting on the BD for their 2023 Yokohama, which was just released. I also have the Unseen World Scorebook with it's Acoustic CD, and I have 2 copies of the Ladies last 2 appearances in Burrn Magazine.
My understanding is that Miku was practising eight hours a day. The Japanese work ethic -- I must try harder and become better -- kicked in and she persevered until she was competent. And she was already musical -- an excellent singer. And Kanami was her "sensei" -- now a very proud sensei. Kanami now admits that Miku can do some rhythm guitar playing techniques better than Kanami can. Miku was the sole guitarist in several songs at the Christmas Day acoustic concert a couple of years ago. Sayonakidori is one, also Time.
Funny comment: at the Christmas concert, when Miku was playing solo guitar for "Time" and "Sayonakidori", she complained in the audio commentary that Akane was giving her "proud mother" looks. But we were all proud of her.

Miku Little Pigeon Kobato!!!!! real name: Mika Noguchi, apparently she changed Mika to Miku because Mika sounded too much like Misa Hato is the Japanese word for Pigeon AND Dove as they are from the same family tree so if it makes you feel any better think of Miku as the little Dove
Don't forget MISA-chan the stage tech as I recall...(you see her in some of live performances..And was it Kanami who pulled her out on stage at one point..got cheers from the fans.

The 10th anniversary vol. 1 & 2 are a great starting point for you, but the Conqueror Limited editions are worth getting while they're still available. The limited editions are the same content except the Saiki version has a Bonus DVD while the Miku version has a Blu-ray disk of the same content. Be aware that they are Japan region dvd/Blu-ray disks. I believe a 4k Blu-ray player should play pretty much anything, but most standard dvd or Blu-ray (1080) players are region locked. If you only get one for now, I'd go with the Miku limited edition. If you can afford it, though, I'd get multiple items to save on shipping.

Don't do the same mistake as I did. When I didn't know better I just bought the cd and now I have a hard time getting the limited editions. Always go for the "best" edition. You will regret it later if you don't. I guess my holy grail is BAND-MAID Start Over CD Blu-ray Limited Type A. I'm fond of Maid in Japan, but if I had to buy only one I probably would buy World Domination.
I will definitely be getting the limited ED's first, as someone who collects Koreans Comics Limited ED's are the way and also once you miss the chance, they will be gone 😭

When u said u like ‘DAYDREAMING’, I believe u might into more of Band-maid softer side and of course Nothing wrong with that (Maids do many sorts of Music, ask around n u’ll get) . Me too if I put it in % softer side of Maid 51%-49% of harder side😏Proud of it with this %, also depend when And how I listen, softer Maids to feel,relax,quiet time/place and as sleeping pill 2 make me fall😴 & as for harder while Playing, working or doing house keeping🤣/or having bbq/drinking with bunch of me-mates or while travelling/driving . As for CD, that’s ur choice and Go for it😊 ( as well as Patreon, nothing wrong with start doing sth new, if that’s work-out, it’s good if not then at least u try. That’s why Miku is my most favourite Maid. She couldn’t play guitar like Mincho or couldn’t sing like Saichan but still created a band anyway and try and learn).But for starter or non musician like me and you, u might want to avoid UNSEEN WORLD for now (up to u). I listen to all genres music/songs around the world from all sort of artist/musicians but currently Bandmaid is the Only artists/musicians that I spending my 💰 on, and according to ur YT channel seem like u discovered Band maid before me😱🫣but lucky I wasn’t/am not reactor, so all good for me🤭, if needed I just make call-sick for dayoff🤫 for searching 4 info.
