the only video that actually dares to put their DIY rain cover to the test .... can't trust all the others where they just demonstrate their solution without actually pouring water all over it... best so far!
You just have to remember to never hold the camera in normal walking position 😅 because then the rain will just slide down your arms and into the bag 😬
I did this and it works great. One additional thing I did was reverse a second ziplock bad which allows you to put two together and 'lock' them. Then I cut open one end entirely so I could fit my hands. I did this with 2 1 gallon ziplocks so I could fit over my nikon 200-500 mm. And yes you still need to pay attention which way you hold the camera so water doesn't get in.
Spetacular job! I'll be testing this out soon enough but i think ill put some ducktape on top of the hood-lens gap just to make sure it's safe! Thank you so much!
Just be aware of condensation, and humidity changes when you go back inside. You can seriously feck up your camera/lenses. These things may not be instant but over the years you will be sorry.
Not a bad idea but you can’t zoom in, focus, change modes, use the touchscreen, etc. Most decent cameras these days already are weather sealed and can handle rain. If you want your camera to be waterproof then get a waterproof case(50-200USD).
