I'm so glad I'm not the only one struggling and a bit behind the curve. It's only my second year gardening and these past few years have been quite the interesting ones to learn through! My peas are still looking green and lush because I planted them in a shady spot but no peas yet - maybe too shady. My tomatoes have tried to take over the garden this year. Definitely planted too many. Love the new gate - well done. All that work in the heat - makes me want a drink xx

Completely missed it this week. Been build a windowsill plant stand so I can move my new blond orange tree in the porch during the winter and some succulents. Installed today looks really good. Picked some of my potatoes red Duke of yorks but a few had scab on the skin which I think may be due to the hot weather and me not being very good with the watering

corriander is a cold weather crop. yes, it grows in summer, but it will always go to flowering without giving you the lush leaves. i do two plantings, one in september to provide leaves through winter and one in february to provide leaves until june, when it runs to seed.

Lovely gate! Please keep me posted on how you care for the fig trees. I planted my first last year, it survived the winter and seems to be growing very short. Also I started using your tips to train my duck to follow me into the garden area by day to hang out safely and am getting 3 girls for his flock next month that I also hope will follow. My chickens scratch too much and destroy garden beds, but ducks have been wonderful.

😂 I have a frog living in one of my potato pots because the grass I topped up with is not quite up to the stems. Who needs girlie tools when there’s garden tools 😂. Great job on the gate and glad you cemented it 👍. Next present a battery powered tree trimmer 🤔. Did you think of making cuttings of the fig you pruned? My coriander self seeded and was 4’ tall until the wind took it down 😢. Amazing how the girls know when moms got food. Have a great week ladies happy gardening, Ali 🌞🇨🇦

Sorry, off topic question. Is anyone having problems with aminopyralid in horse manure again? I'm in Scotland, keep my horses at home and use their manure for composting. It's beginning to look like I've had contaminated hay because anywhere I've used their manure I'm having real problems with beans, onions, leeks, beetroot. I'm a beginner so my raised beds are just put in and I can see a real difference between them and one bed with just unmodified soil. My runner bean leaves (bought as plants) have got paler and paler until they're almost yellow with some distortion now beginning (Painted Lady and Emergo), onion starts are stuck, onion sets did OK at first, now seem stalled. The more manure in the bed the worse the problem is. However my sprouts are growing absolutely fine.
