The M2 represents some serious bang for buck where I come from (Australia) compared to the rest of the models. If I deselect the carbon bucket seats from the M2 (which I would) I can get one for AUD $132k. The X5 M60i is $200k, as is the X3M and M3 X-Drive (close enough).
OG M2 has the best sound of all the M2 versions and generations in my opinion. Which is quite an accomplishment as back then it didn't (yet) have a "true" BMW M-engine (N55 in stead of S55) so it's quite remarkable that they have been able to extract such a sound from it. Though of course, no OPF back then either, but that's only relevant for the EU
@@BinaryBlueBull It may only be an N55, but it is quite different from the M135i/M235i engines, as it has forged internals and other improvements. The 1M is held in high regard, and that never had an S designated engine either (not a fan of them personally, I think the 1M is ugly as hell). The N55 does have a greater reliability reputation than the S55 though..... But, I would say the engine in my last car (an M140i tuned to 455bhp/634nm) is the best of all. The B58 is the best 6 cylinder engine BMW has ever made, and even with bolt on mods seems very reliable at 600+ bhp. With forged internals some people are running over 1000bhp. incredible for a none S engine !!
@@DjNikGnashers I agree across the board with what you've written, including the looks of the 1M (Yuuuuck. Shame about the looks because it's supposed to be mind-numbingly euphoric to drive) and the reliability and upgradeability of the B58. I was solely talking about the sound, which I think trumps all other BMW engines 6 cilinder and less, including the B58 and S58. Above 6 cilinders you of course have the mighty E60 M5 S85 V10 which takes the throne, followed by E90 S65 V8 and and E39 S62 V8 in shared second place. But 6 cilinders and below, the N55 in the OG M2 reigns supreme in the auditory department to me, by a huge margin. You have a very cool car. I'm glad for you, because I've had the pleasure of driving it once and know what it's like. Got it as a loaner from myy BMW garage because all their loaners were unavailable and I know the garage owner a bit, so they gave me their show car for the day. It had a BMW M safety car livery on it because it was in fact a former safety car. I instantly fell in love, took the day off and did close to 1000km in a single day with it because I just couldn't get enough of it. I also leave near the Autobahn, so yeah. They weren't too pleased with that but oh well, that thing is sex on wheels, so go ahead and sue me. Please enjoy the hell out of that car for me. She's absolutely, stunningly perfect and likely overall the best car I've ever driven except for the 991.2 911 GT3 (still trying to convince the wife that the GT3 is a true family car. So far no luck, lol)
@@BinaryBlueBull I see we share the same good taste sir ! I am not a wealthy man, and I make a lot of sacrifices in life to own an OG M2, it really is the best car I could afford. If I did have more money, oh man, a 911 GT3 would be MY choice without a shadow of doubt 🙂
M340i sound is perfection
M340i has the best sound in my opinion.
Outside, but certainly not inside.
M340i best start no noise tyres spin very smooth I like more m340i good sound engine sec x3m
Don't get me wrong, i'm not into SUVs but that X3 Comp. is lit!
Sehr interessanter Vergleich. Vielen Dank dafür.
Gerne😬👊
M2 is whole 2 seconds faster 100-200 km/h than m340i. Nice
Nearly one second faster than an Audi RS4 competition (9.7 seconds).
Base M2 is quick.
M340i best sound
Very satisfying video 😍
M4 CSL 100-200 6.6 seconds😮😮
Next time video need to add M5,M8,X4,X6. Good job bro👍🏻
Top Video🤙 Frohe Weichnacten and viele mehr Videos im Neues 2024 Jahr🎄🎆🎉✨️🥇
Danke! Ebenso😁💪
guys thank you so much for this video, best wishes for 2024 from Turkey
Thank you for watching😁🙏 Best wishes to you too
M2 is 40 kg heavier then m340i ? How is that even possible
The M2 has axles and suspension of the M4. You could say the M2 is an M4 short-wheel-base.
Mistake. It's 1740kg
Because bmw is shit
Because the M2 also has the S58 which is twin turbo and heavier engine and the M340i has the B58
Who cares.
No summary of the time? Cannot find

Fully agree, the M2 is more or less a shorter M4 with even better sound….and costs less🤑👌
@@Automann-TV I am one that actually quite likes the styling of the M2 aswel haha...in black for me with black wheels and red callipers
По часам мерили😂😂
Those gloves are ridiculous
Why not M8?

R6? Don't you mean I6?
Nur das Mäusekino bei BMW geht gar nicht.....
BMW X3M, best M vehicle ever. Just perfect in every way. Passenger space, cargo space, handling, height, comfort, power, style.
M4 Performance exhaust❤
🚀🚀
Sup
Why do they all sound so boring and flat? Soft limiter not disabled?
Emission regulations
Love the M2, M3, M4, M5 but you can keep all of those ugly, heavy, SUV's thanks.
Happy with my OG M2 🙂
