I appreciate the Bulwark, especially Tim. You all did a great job. Me, I plan on dying with my boots on. We got a small win today: A maga dude at my job got fired this morning. He came in and started trolling people in the break room. He emulated Inmate P01135809's actions with a microphone wearing a maga hat, forgetting cameras were all around. We reported him to HR for harassment, and after 1 hour they walked him out of the door from a six figure salary.
I'm terrified. I have a chronic illness that will 100% kill me without treatment. The only reason I can afford health insurance is the ACA. If protections for preexisting conditions are removed I'm dead. The worst part is people who claim to love me voted for this.
I’m a caregiver for my parents and I’m terrified that this will be taken away too. I’m in total agreement with you. Others that said they loved my parents voted for him too and didn’t think of others who depend on those protections for preexisting conditions being in place. I’m totally crushed by all of this! I’ll keep you in my prayers!
Sending you warm wishes and praying for you! My daughter has a chronic illness as well and I'm scared of what may happen! We'll get through this together!
I feel the same way. If it weren’t for my Medicare I would die earlier than needed. Without Medicare I couldn’t go to a doctor for my diabetes, and I’ve also got chronic kidney disease. If the government cuts back on social security, I’ll be living under a bridge. I’m not going to relax until tRump is back out of office again. And a democrat is back in the White House. I’m very afraid.
It is obvious that there is a large portion of the population who clearly have no moral compass. How can you possibly vote for this man?! Kamala did an amazing job in a very short time.
I'm a democrat & we also need to accept voters didn't like what we offered, or how we offered it. We dismissed their fears & called them dumb. It backfired on us. We must adapt & fight on
@katehamilton7240 it's amazing how many people fail to see what you said. as a democrate who voted for trump yesterday here is the solution. stop pushing progressives. they have been the downfall of the left. they are to busy playing identity politics to realize they pushed the majority of the country away from them. if the left comes backs to the center and stops lieing about everything they can win again. if the left doubles down next time around enjoy more Republicans winning elections.
America never would vote a women to lead And she was a women with education so very scary... Shs also was black and last time we elected a black person well we got trump. If tim walz was the nominee and she vice i Guarantee walz would have won.
Sarah, I’m a Hispanic woman and I am so ashamed of those that voted for Orange Man. They , I believe refused to hear that they are the ones that he will be deporting first.
I'm Mexican American, from what I have seen 3rd, and 4th, generation Hispanics who have lost their language, culture and traditions, no longer see themselves as Hispanic. They have assimilated to the American culture and the only thing that makes them Hispanic is their last name.
😂😂 Kamala is the worst candidate in American history. I’m a Dem-voter, but she not only lost to an unhinged lunatic clown - but she couldn’t even do good interviews. She gave us Trump.
I fought in war for this country, saw friends die, got PTSD. For what? For this? To be afraid of what the future holds for my wife and daughters? For our healthcare and retirement plans? For our beautiful planet that we humans seem hellbent on destroying in the name of a few cents off at the gas pump? For our republic which nearly lasted 250 years? This is my reward? Ashamed does not begin to describe how I feel.
I’m petrified as a single mother of three kids. I’m petrified for my daughter. For all of us. This is a complete disgrace. I feel like anyone I know who voted for this disgusting excuse for a human being I can no longer speak to.
Totally agree, and it’s disgusting how quickly these people would cast their morals aside. This exemplifies how easily people can be manipulated, while believing they are doing the right thing. These are the self-proclaimed “patriots”.
Misogyny, Racism, Selfishness. *Edit*. I write the latter prior to Sarah suggesting these were the quick, plebeian interpretations of the results. I would echo JVL in keeping our minds open. Maybe, just maybe, it is this easy.
I want to thank all of you for your incredible, round-the-clock political analysis. I am not a Republican, but a lifelong Democrat. I am here because The Bulwark offers smart, analytical political dialogue. (The Lincoln Project wins for the best political ads ever created. Genius.) I learned much from The Bulwark and I thank all of you from my heart for staying the course. I think Kamala was brillliant in a short campaign. The work goes on....🙏🏽💙
Me too, partly. I'm a democrat & we also need to accept voters didn't like what we offered, or how we offered it. We dismissed their fears & called them dumb. It backfired on us. We must adapt & fight on
I agree. It's a system that allows an insurrectionist to become a perpetual fixture on the political landscape and decides not to prosecute a person who stole and sold state secrets because it might interfere with their reelection plans, Pure insanity.
I did community outreach for the Democratic Party as a volunteer in my blue town and so many people said they didn’t know anything about Kamala. I was like, 😯!!! She’s our Vice President, how do you not know who she is? Voters are so ignorant of basic facts. Google is open 24° a day but apparently many people don’t take advantage of it. Astounding and infuriating.
The are convinced by right wing media that bad things about trump are not true, and they believe all kinds of crap about progressives that are NOT true! The disinformation is the core issue here.
She ran a 100 day campaign against an incumbent who has been running for years. She did wonderfully. I am proud to have voted for her and will continue to honor the principles she ran on.❤❤
Thanks for doing this podcast and sharing your views about what happened. It's a really bitter pill to swallow and I feel so bad for our country and our world.
Preach, as a naturalized citizen who served in the military, I’m am shook by the enthusiasm people voted for this party. I pray for my fellow immigrants, I pray for women, any group that is about to feel this consequences of this decision
As someone who is outside the US , i find it hard to believe the dems & their supporters didn't see this coming , like not seeing the wood for the trees . Also the lawfare on trump was vindictive .
As she indicated in her speech to her supporters, she will not go away. She (and, I hope, Tim Walz) will find a way to keep fighting. And I hope she'll take all of us with her.
💙JVL, that is how I feel, thank you for saying all the things, mostly, the “not how we can make it better but more how can we stop it from being worse to much much worse” that is a realistic way to see this next term. I need you all to make me feel more sane to be able to grip on to something, in this incredibly sad, shocking and Scary times we are in. Thank you to your work to all of us, we need you now more than ever 🇺🇸
I was working last night and we were all sitting around the nursing station glued to the maps and ALL of us were just shocked....... sick.....sad...... scared........ and now unsure of what to think of our country...... it's just ...... no words ... that's what it is..... no words describe this moment
I too am a Registered Nurse, who works the night shift. I too felt unbelievably depressed, and numb that this could have happened in this country, which obviously l do not understand any more 😢😢😢😢

75 year old white lesbian radical feminist. I've never been more glad to have begun following these 3 on the Bulwark. I vote in the interests of those with the least agency - those most at the mercy of every legal limit or impediment to their health, safety, and education. The Bulwark folks don't usually get that nuts&boltsy - they are focused on the middle class - and they understand it in a way that has deepened my own. I'm glad to share a Handbasket with them.
I am an 80 year old Jewish lady. My parents were fearful about what was happening to Jews in Europe when I was a child and they instilled that fear in me. I am so appalled at the prospect of trump troopers rounding up immigrants and putting them in concentration camps I can barely breathe. That being just one of the horrible things coming our way. How could this have happened?
@MetaphorYarns-u4y-This happened because there has been an extremely well organized group of authoritarian minded people who developed a long game plan to take over the pillars of society. Public education has been systematically undermined at the same time along the way. Americans lost their curiosity and became complacent. I am so sorry that you are going through this.
Tim, you hit the nail on the head when you said that you can't believe you're going to spend the prime years of your life thinking about this disgusting person. I'm in my mid 60's and this is not what I had planned for Act III of my life.
I agree. I'm 64, and this man has taken enough years off my life. I truly believe these people are going to get a wake-up call. Trump's loyalty works one way, and now they have returned him to the WH, and he won't go to prison, so they are no longer of any use to him.
You were ok w the tax rate that was gonna be applied to ss? Also peep coming over getting the highest amount at 55 wasn’t cool w me. They changed some wording on dot gov site but appears to still read that way..
Tried to tell my Trump loving aging retired father this, how this is going to ruin his retirement and the rest of his life and it’s going to hurt me to watch happen. He just couldn’t comprehend that, he has no idea what could be coming.
Kennedy had an affair, Clinton had an affair, but Trump has broken all records of bad behavior. Convicted felon to become POTUS? My son can't work as school janitor (he used to teach music) because he has felony convictions.
I was in the airport a few weeks ago and couldn't help but notice the rudeness, ugliness, and lack of civility among people. Twenty years ago people were calmer, less self involved, and cared about their appearance and upholding standards. Now it's just me, me, me, me. There's a profound meanness in our culture. Trump appeals to it but we all buy into it to some extent.
"This is not who we are" - No, this is EXACTLY who we are. We don't care about any of those issues, we don't care about issues, period. We only care about who we can blame and who to hate.
I'm a democrat & we also need to accept voters didn't like what we offered, or how we offered it. We dismissed their fears & called them dumb. It backfired on us. We must adapt & fight on
Sadly, that's a fact we have to confront: a fair number of our fellow Americans admire fraud, lies, cheating, assault, and criminal behavior. A fair number of us are unabashed bigots and selfish people. That's just who we are. My default is to assume people are honorable, honest, kind people, until I know otherwise. Now I know better. A lot of my fellow citizens are people whose values and world view are totally different from mine.
I woke up this morning and was shocked as an American living abroad I cried . I feel such a great sense of loss like a death . I am grieving for the America I grew up with . This is not that now . 😢
@ yes, I mean Harris (35% approval rating). We only chose her to be the candidate because we were afraid we’d be called racist & sexist if we didn’t choose her.
JVL is right. He has been right. This is a referendum on where America is culturally, a preference for far Right and all they stand for. You cannot say you care about the economy and vote for the guy that will set up blanket tarriffs and Elon saying there will be some pain. So there needs to be a collective breath-taking, acceptance and regroup. For all the Trump voters who are looking forward to the "great again" part, good luck with that.
You are absolutely right; Trump voters, it isn’t gonna “be great again,” undecideds and “reserving my vote because of Israel/Hamas” - it ain’t gonna be pretty And to those who said “we had four years of economic health; I’m voting for the Republican who made it happen,” he’s gonna collapse the economy and bring back double digit inflation. Mark my words
That's true. Historically that's true. The US is the nation that caused unspeakable terror throughout Asia, the Middle East and much of South America. They were the only nation to be convicted of terrorism at the World Court. They were the nation that ignored AIDS while it was predominantly killing gay men; the country that in the 90s - when you had Bill Clinton! - we all thought was basically an embodiment of who Trump was then, and is now....I am not talking about individuals, I mean as a society and as an individualist culture. You have never been a culture that strives to support the common good. Obama threw a spanner in the works. He gave us all hope that the US could do better, both internally and externally. You've always had some of the most brilliant, as well as many of the worst, people on the planet - for a minute there, we hoped brilliance dominated. As far as rights go, you guys have rarely been at the forefront. Generally speaking you've lagged behind, and have been reluctant to move with the rest of us.... You're always the loudest about what you want, but as far as legislation is concerned, you're often behind. This is who you have been and, I guess, less has changed than we'd hoped...and perhaps, less than our little social media bubbles allowed us to believe.
They phucked around. They will find out. When their Medicaid and social security gets cut, when their lives get negatively impacted by Trumps policies they'll have no one to blame when Republicans control not only all 3 chambers but also the supreme court. Unfortunately by the time they realise what a terrible choice it was it'll be too late.
I'm a democrat & we also need to accept voters didn't like what we offered, or how we offered it. We dismissed their fears & called them dumb. It backfired on us. We must adapt & fight on
@@rosaliebent4833ummm…Brexit was also a majority of Brits voting to cause significant long term harm to their own country and standard of living. So the UK, at least, is in idiots corner with the US.
100 days of Joy and hope- now we get to live with someone who has stated that he will tear it all down, and enlist loyalty at any cost. Such short memories... Prayers for Ukraine. It's more than just the USA at risk.
I want to thank all of you for your dedication, hard work and humor. I am a lifelong liberal and I want to say, I love you guys. It's the honesty and commitment to be truthful. I understand not knowing where we are. The entire world just changed. I hope there is a realignment that brings us together as a pro democracy Coalition. Sarah I saw you standing with honesty over persuasion. I believe this is the way forward. Much to learn. I hope we all find our way forward together. Thank you.
Trump was the most overtly racist candidate since George Wallace. And look what people did. You cannot tell me it’s the price of goods, I’m sorry. I think that is an excuse to vote for a racist candidate.
George Carlin famously said, "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." We have a growing majority of willfully ignorant, racist, superstitious people who do not want to deal with facts, but follow their instincts and believe what opportunists tell them.
I'm 52. I have never been more disappointed in my fellow Americans than I am today. I am sad. I am frustrated. But I appreciate the work you all at the Bulwark do and have done and I will be sticking around for the fight with you.
I want to thank you all very much for the last 3 months. As a liberal, your perspective and insight has been incalculable and I love how you all came to the table with honesty passion. It was truly pleasing listening to people that I might not agree with, but clearly care deeply about this country and have none of that cyclical nature that infects the GOP of today.
I’m Canadian and find myself surprised at how sad I am that Trump won again. Mostly because it’s such a clear message that most Americans don’t care about others in their own communities. It’s just really so heartbreaking.
Hi guys from England. Thank you for helping us navigate what happened last night. Woke early this morning all expectant, checked my iPhone and couldn’t believe it. Devastated, like most of the people on here. I worry for Ukraine. When Zelinskyy sent his message congratulating Trump, I wept. He must be terrified right now. So, one guy fighting with his life for his country, another would happily give it to Russia if it was worth something to him. I will not get my information from main stream media, but rely on yourselves and other TH-cam channels. Thanks for keeping us informed. 💙
@@lindseyhendrix2405as bad as it's going to be for us, I bawl every time I think about the poor Ukrainian people. They must be fear-stricken. They know it's game over for them and they'll be under a dictator who is already established with absolutely no checks and balances. 💔
When Trump calls one group rapists and murderers, and that group still votes for him - I am sorry, but that's not the problem of the Democratic party, the messaging, branding, campaign, whatever. It's the problem of those people. The choice could not be clearer! And yet they chose to vote for the fascist. All I have to say is - good luck in the camp!

I think that’s what the democrats don’t have to win …names calling, fighting dirty, it works for the republicans so maybe that’s how the American new people wants to see now from politicians?
As a non college graduate woman, there is nothing normal and no normalizing of trump among my female non graduate friends. We all are absolutely floored that this has happened

@@katehamilton7240good luck Steven miller and banon are going to control the Whitehouse the house and the senate are controlled by maga nut jobs. The democrats ran a fine campaign. It turns out more than half of america hates immigrants and women.
@@katehamilton7240 thats not true though. democratic issues were polling at 70% something popularity. all of them. abortion rights, education, project 2025. people and the democrats were aligned on all that. misinformation took its toll and the world and millions of innocent souls will have to pay. its so tragic.
After last night, I didn’t think I would ever feel this sad, depressed, and utterly hopeless. My country has just turned into a place of hate and bile. I am now fully prepared to loose every single freedom I fought for as a gay man, not to mention the rights of women and their bodies. How many families will move to states with abortion rights just the chance to save their spouses or daughter’s life encase of a deadly pregnancy. My heart weeps for this country and the next four years and for the world where we won’t recover for decades.😢😢😢
It's only a matter of time before none of the states have abortion rights. And we've always been a place of hate and bile. We're just better at hiding it sometimes.
Veteran, also used to work for citizenship immigration here (and trans dude) 🇨🇦 I’m already seeing parents of trans kids terrified and asking how to get to Canada as refugees ffs. And they have a claim to, we’ve codified trans rights into law thankfully. I mean night before election, most important ads repugnants ran? Anti-trans hate. 😢 SO sick of the constant hate. Some of it spills north of our border obviously. I hope I don’t lose my human rights *sigh*. I’m SO sorry. Thinking of you all! ❤
As a liberal Democrat, the Bulwark has carried me through the election. And now more than ever, I feel you will be crucial as to how we move forward. Thank you. You all rock!
With JVL on this one - a majority of Americans made a decisive choice with clear evidence of what that choice means. Now that majority will get exactly the government they asked for and when they find out in 4 years that they no longer have a democracy, health care, or economic stability I'm not convinced that even that will wake them up. As a Canadian who loves America and 98% of the Americans I've ever met, this makes me so so sad. Thank you Bulwark for your hard work - y'all are warriors. Keep it going and we up North will do our best to keep our own mini-Trump from joining the coalition of the dim witted. ❤ from Ontario.
I have to add this is also a Canadian problem. I work on the NY trade floor of a major Canadian Bank, the Canadian bros were ecstatic and kept talking about how they can follow this formula in Canada. I'm sure Donald Trump Jr will oblige, if that sounds off base realize that it was lots of wealthy immigrants who pushed Trump over the line, Murdoch, Thiel, Musk, half the staff of Fox business and all the little Fox clones that have popped up. I am losing my democracy to people who didn't grow up here and care nothing for my country, only the money it generates. Be careful, Canada, it's not the poor immigrants we should fear.
I agree partly. I'm a democrat & we also need to accept voters didn't like what we offered, or how we offered it. We dismissed their fears & called them dumb. It backfired on us. We must adapt & fight on
If you haven’t, go and watch Kamala’s speech, it will make you feel better. I actually hope she hangs around in politics, I find her inspirational and relatable.
French woman residing in the UK. I am heartbroken for all of you, but I will take heart from knowing all of you at the Bulwark will be there to help us envisage a brighter future. Thank you for your great courage.
Didn’t help they showed up at every rally interrupting Kamala and screaming free Gaza! Now they get trump! Good luck because he doesn’t give a shit at all. He will hand Gaza to Putin! Watch!
I am so sorry you have to go through this. We are all dealing with grief. Whenever a criminal wins and law-abiding Americans lose, it's a tragedy. I still believe that God is a good God. He will intervene and save the despaired. Read Psalm 23. Through we walk through the shadow of death we will fear no evil, for thought art with us. They rod and they staff will comfort us. He will prepare a table for us BEFORE OUR ENEMIES. Our cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives, and we will live in the house of the Lord forever". Remember those words. They will prevail.
Thank you for the encouragement to “not check out” by being who you are … the deep disappointment that I feel now is profound! Your sober discussion and commitment to “remain” a Bulwark and help us understand how to make the world a better place is so reassuring ( especially after my relatively sleepless last night’s nightmares about him using military on civilians and what will happen to the world order and the earth! You all rock… eloquent, thoughtful and honest- why I will continue to subscribe !
No this is who we are… We’ve just told the world this. The Latino voters will be shocked when their family members and friends are deported (legal or not). Silly people think they aren’t the “ones” that the incoming admin is talking about🤦🏻♀️
Echoes exactly my thoughts. They're in for a rude awakening when they realize the family members they brought over are going to be deported. Like sure Juan, you may be a citizen, but Juan is the anchor and the rest of his family will not have citizenship yet. They are all now at risk of being deported. I won't feel sorry for them anymore. They asked for it.
The thing I like about watching you three is your different perspectives. We need Sarah’s pragmatism, we need JVL’s eeyore’s eye view, and we need Tim’s ups and downs. We need them all. And I’m thankful for each of you!
Not only that but yes easy to persuade. This shows you that knowledge is power, and if the American ppl are not taught to critically think, they can succumb to the worst
I am not sure that Trump did not have the election rigged from the start; it went to easily and this time, Trump was not afraid of hiding his crazy; he knew that the 'win' was in the bag,
When I realized early last night, what was gonna happen I turned off all news until this. You have become my go to for analysis. I look forward to moving past this horrible election to figure out where we go from here. My first thought was that all is lost, but that went away and I want to kick their asses. I just don’t know how and I’m counting on you to help with that over the next weeks and months and years.
Don't lose hope! The quiet democracy we've enjoyed was never guaranteed. Now, we have to work for it, show that we have character, and maintain our values in the face of not getting what we want. Losing hope is what MAGAs most want. They want to "own" the libs, and we're giving them that pleasure if we become disheartened. Grieve, regroup, stay focused.
@@Soulbloom1 thank you. Wise words of comfort. You are totally right. I guess what hurts the most is that America has a very dark side and now it has stepped into the light. I am surprised by Trumps popularity and am afraid for the future. I really appreciate your kind words xx

Step three, Kevin Mcarthy Step four, Biden didn't step out when he should have to have primaries. But bottom line this country prefer to have a racist and fascist leading the country and burn it all to the ground. For some reason people think that voting against their own interest is the right thing to do. I agree with Sarah that Hispanics were thinking like white voters when it came to thinking about illegal immigration. The media with their double standard of having to have the two sides, and the fact that the Dems have to do everything right while the idiot acts like the idiot he is and no one cares. What makes me so sad is that so many people are going to die, some of those people who voted for him (COVID, anyone) and the people who voted for him will forget about it 4 years from now. The most vulnerable are at their most vulnerable state right now.

Because of you all I went into last night prepared for all scenarios and it's the only thing that's keeping me sane today because I wasn't blindsided by the outcome. I'm now a loyal fan of The Bulwark and I'm ready to do the work like Sarah said, whatever that may be. Thank you for everything you've done. Stay safe and sane out there.
What? This channel is an MSNBC clone. These clowns do not represent Republicans, their ideology, nor their beliefs. This is the wrong channel to look at. Kamala has tons of disastrous interviews leading up to the election, and this channel called them victories. Just watch the daily wire if you want mainstream Republican thoughts.
The fact Tim used to be part of the GOP he's got good insight. The fact is we are confused why he won but it seems crazy is in disgusting to say. Even a faked ear shot with no doctors statement still was used. So how are we to learn anything from this except total insanity.
These guys will be fine. I've had 3 students approach me THIS MORNING (west coast) to quietly ask *how long do they have until* their parents are deported.
The amount of excuses that Sarah is throwing out is crazy! The Americans knew who he was. They know he lies. They know he is ignorant. The majority voted FOR him.
Tim, Sarah, JVL, and the entire Bulwark team: From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the work you've done - and for the work you will do. You are true patriots and - without a shred of exaggeration - the very best of America. I've been listening to the Bulwark Podcast since the beginning with Charlie. You've been voices of sanity and wisdom, and you've put heart and soul into making America a better place, when there were much easier, more lucrative, or more career-advancing things to do. (Aside: Tim, your book was the best one about politics I've ever read.) The coming years will be difficult, far more difficult than even the worst of 2017-2021. We will need your sanity and wisdom more than ever. Thank you again and hang in there! Sending you my hugs.
I want to thank all of you at The Bulwark for your analysis and honesty over the last several weeks I've been following. You've been my preferred place because you always give it to us straight even when it hurts. For my mental well being I have to step away, and probably for good. I was utterly despondent last night and had no one I could talk to. I deeply appreciate all that you do and hope you continue to fight the good fight. Good luck America!
My feelings: it was nice to have a Constitution. I'm gonna miss it. And I'm also wounded and grieving over my proudest achievement, 10 years spent in service to that Constitution, being rendered meaningless.

IMMIGRATION........ when I was on Twitter back in 2020, after Biden won and Fox became the "caravan" channel 24/7, I told everyone that Dems better get on it. I told my fellow liberals that Biden needed to take immigration seriously and don't allow the Right to drive the narrative. My followers and people I followed were silent and nobody responded. Currently cutting ties with my horrible traitor family. Tired of ignoring their poorly concealed racism. 50 percent of them on social security disability and they can do everything I can do; while they complain about others on Medicaid as being lazy. I can't anymore.
Look. I'm 69yo. I've been fighting this 💩 since 1979. I'm done. Good on you young'uns. My son's gonna be surprised when I move in with his family when SSD AND Medicare tank
Same. We'll likely have to sell our little home, which has been in our family for five generations. We have to try to find work in our 70s. A lifetime of hard work, frugality, political engagement, and care for social justice feels for naught this morning. I am in deep grief for my children and grandchildren. I'm mourning for women, for non-Christians, for immigrants, for Black Americans, for Ukraine, for Palestine, for our beautiful planet. I'm even grieving for friends and neighbors lost into the cult of MAGA. I hope I can get up and fight on, but today I'm flattened.
@@CarlaBaku it's not much consolation but I am heartbroken for you and all decent Americans too. You deserve better than this. Sending hugs from Germany.
Same. Woke up yesterday with joy and hope, as well. Went to bed grieving for my kids, future grandkids, our country, and our allies around the world. Also, I'm shattered for Ukraine and Eastern Europe. God help us all! 😭😭😭

I am so sorry you will have to continue dealing with Trump, JD Vance, Speaker Johnson, the lies, the hipocrasy, the lack of principles, moral backbone...all of it. Sending big hugs to you all to cope with even just the thought of it.
I'm a Brit....been following you all for some time. My heart goes out you all and thank you all for trying so hard to inform and save us from such a monster. Big love
@mapple8032 please stop this tired rhetoric about how “this is who we are“ like we are all a bunch of racist assholes. People voted for Trump for many reasons, and that includes not just Latino voters, but African-American men AND women, something the left media is refusing to discuss. This is tragic, but to keep blaming this on racism and sexism is to continue missing the point. People don’t love Trump, but they do hate the woke left and the constant pandering of identity politics
Thank you for your hard work and dedication. I appreciate your analysis and your efforts to move forward, even now. I could understand the situation in 2016, but here in 2024, I am utterly lost. It seems like this is what "the people" wanted. The best thing is that I have found center right people that I can agree with more than not. I know that you did your best and I deeply appreciate that.
That heartfelt “well, f**k” Tim said at the beginning pretty much sums up my mood right now. Let’s stick together, guys. Watch over each other. We’ve got a long road ahead.
Let's face it: no. That's not remotely what happened. Here's some racism for you @5:18 "culturally, hispanics now operate like white voters..." the left is racist. period.
European woman 50+ here. Ever since I remember, people returning from trips to the USA would say the same thing: beautiful country, stupid people. Today is honestly the first day I start to consider this as a possibility. So so sad.
Too easy to blame stupidity. I'm a democrat & we also need to accept voters didn't like what we offered, or how we offered it. We dismissed their fears & called them dumb. It backfired on us. We must adapt & fight on
I don’t know why, but I didn’t need this comment today. We are seeing demagoguery in Europe, South America and throughout the world. Is our answer to call everyone “stupid”? I mean I get it…but you act like we’re unique. Give us a goddamn day please
Tim, please post your “feelings” segment on TH-cam as a short that we can share with our friends/followers. Your words perfectly encapsulated my feelings about dealing with “him” in my face moving forward. I was so looking forward to getting him out of my life, and no amount of alcohol last night could overcome my disappointment. We are “effed” but I’m not giving up. Thank you to The Bulwark for yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Love you guys.
Surprised no one is placing any blame on social media. The lies wouldn’t spread if the quest to sell yet another ad wasn’t stronger than the mission to protect democracy
She ran the BEST campaign anyone could have ever run. From the grassroots donations to her messaging. The bottom line is RACISM and Misogyny!! That ALL we should be talking about! Nothing else! She was Perfection!
Exactly. Based on my experiences with a few older MAGA men, the subject of Kamala brought forth a fusillade of raging hate. I think this was a major factor.
I am so sorry that you feel this way. Please know that so many of us believe this country is worth fighting for, and we are eternally grateful for everything you and your family sacrificed for the sake of this country. 💙
I am a 75 year old female on social security. I have no other income. What is your opinion on what Trump will actually do to people like me. I'm terrified on what is going to happen. I worked for 42 years and paid into social security.
Awesome
That actually made me smile. What a bully
Good company ethics! Way to go!
That's okay, your company will be first on the Orange-Shirt's list. Expect "visits".

I'm terrified. I have a chronic illness that will 100% kill me without treatment. The only reason I can afford health insurance is the ACA. If protections for preexisting conditions are removed I'm dead. The worst part is people who claim to love me voted for this.
Sorry, they only love themselves. That is evident now.
So sorry. Move to Scotland health care is free.
She was flawless. The UNITY message was IDIOTIC. NO MORE.

Exactly this. They had 4 years, which was plenty of time, to put Trump behind bars for life. Wasted opportunity, much to the chagrin of the world.
JVL, I agree with your take. In my opinion, the blame isn't on Kamala, it is totally ignorant voters.

I did community outreach for the Democratic Party as a volunteer in my blue town and so many people said they didn’t know anything about Kamala. I was like, 😯!!!
With all due respect, the country didn’t turn into it. Every American who isn’t a cisgender white, male has been telling y’all this forever
It's only a matter of time before none of the states have abortion rights.
And we've always been a place of hate and bile. We're just better at hiding it sometimes.
I understand. But we have to band together and protect one another. I will fight for your rights and you for me.
I’ve never lived in any other country, I feel homeless today. The American ideals I’ve grown up believing in, thrown out by the “conservative” party.
One of the best things out of this election cycle is finding the bulwark. Thank you so much! 💙💙💙
As a liberal Democrat, the Bulwark has carried me through the election. And now more than ever, I feel you will be crucial as to how we move forward. Thank you. You all rock!
❤
Exactly. They will get what they asked for. Let’s see how they like it.
You reap what you sow. Breed a shallow public, get shallow leaders.
The part about even all the terrible things happening won't wake up those people. Facts.
Probably the most qualified to run for President in my lifetime.
Maybe Governor of Cali in 2 years
She doesn't need to run again let Gavin Newsome be the next democratic candidate
I bawled thru the whole thing.
She needs to go. Sick and tired of democrats playing identity politics and wonder why they keep shooting themselves in the foot
Love to everyone. I’m glad you’re here, thank you. Genuinely trying to process reality & am so appreciative of you all.
From New Zealand. I'm just so sad for you all. I actually cried last night. I hope the next 4 years of horror pass quickly.
I’m worried about the Supreme Court. The ramifications can last for decades.
We're going to need some tee shirt ideas.
We will be flying our flags upside down for the next 4 years.

Thank you. We will survive and hopefully learn from our mistakes.
It won’t pass quickly and it will be incredibly painful, but thank you for your sentiments.

Thank you for your great courage.
Thanks for being there, you guys. It helps. I am overwhelmed with grief for Ukraine and for my old country.
Yeah, I worry Ukraine is doomed not to mention much of Europe anywhere near Russia.
If Donald Trump thinks he in any way represents God or his Kingdom, he has a rude awakening waiting for him on Judgment Day.
