I played most of cyans games as they came out and this review pretty much cover what I thought of this one. I did really like it with the exception of the ghost woman who I found annoying and added little to the experience . I liked the puzzles, especially after playing thier last game obduction which had at least one that was so frustrating I stopped playing and started over a couple months later. That game I felt had a much better story and the worlds were better realized with lots more interaction and more opportunity for discovering objects and cool places only tangentially related to the story. This was less immersive but fun nevertheless. I am really looking forward to their remake of Riven coming up!
Riven was my favourite of the Cyan games. Albeit, perhaps one of the hardest. Yes, I had to look up a few solutions on the way, but the environments were breathtaking. I finished Firmament without needing to look up a hint, so definitely more for the common brain. I think you'd have to be a member of MENSA to get through Riven without a hint somewhere. ...still worth finishing MYST so you can play Riven. Go finish Myst! :)
If you hadn't heard, Cyan is redeveloping Riven from the ground up, much like they did with Myst recently. Full graphic redo with the latest RealEngine. I can't wait! Plus it will be playable on VR if that's your thing. :)
I am playing the game now in the non-VR mode. You gave a good balanced review. Now go finish Myst! 😁
Does anyone know whether there is a sequel to myst and riven?

riven was probably the best, but obduction was a very close second for me

Gotta say i found the game to be very fun, if only that voice could just stfu sometimes, i ended up turning the dialog off until the end sequence.
Best channel I've found so far! Keep up the good work.
