    Very cool! How does it know where to weld? I understand if you have a jig and it is programmed to weld repeats in certain spots, but you seem to be just laying metal 3:50 down and it welds right on the seams.

      Lots of the welding patterns on the robotic table were the same. The robot was just following those patterns.

    As a welder it seems more efficient to have a human welding because you don’t have to program the robot every time in my opinion!

      But when you mass production robots and automation is not an option but necessity

    • @thedridge10
      @thedridge10 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@abhinavsaini7881 I have no idea what you’re trying to say but as a mig/tig welder for a production company I sit on my chair and weld out hundreds of parts a day. Only way I see the robot as useful is if he himself doesn’t know how to weld but even then mig welding is super easy to learn

    • @thedridge10
      @thedridge10 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Christopher Grant you’re right I don’t work 24/7 but neither do the programmers that run the bot also you still need the programmer to get the parts into the right position and to make sure the measurements are correct so either way you still need a guy there to get any work done. Also I can make every weld just as nice as the robot every time throughout my work day. Only thing I can see that makes this useful is if it is large scale mass production such as car manufacturing

    • @Hakkeholt
      @Hakkeholt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thedridge10 or if the company can't find a good welder. In.my business we have used robots to milk dairy cows for more than 20 yrs and it has it pros and cons, but it saves me a lot of monotous repeatable work, 7 days a week for 23 hours. Now its the question which system is most economous, we dont have cheap Mexican labour in Europe so we keep the robot.

    • @thedridge10
      @thedridge10 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Hakkeholt for the price of the robot you could send someone to welding school but if you want to use the robot then you’ll end up paying the programmer a lot more than a welder because either way you still need a human to run the bot and get the parts into the correct position’s also with a milking robot I’m sure the robot works continuously for a long time where as this robot would only work for long periods of time if there were long welds. If they are only doing 5” welds then you have the programmer sitting around waiting for the robot so again this would only be useful in mass production or if you’re running 10 foot welds over and over again.
