Welcome to the Remember Me Eddie Club how Remember Me Eddie are ya? *note* Video is part 2 of a 2 part series of Chapter 4 playlist here: tinyurl.com/f7b86j73
I do like that they've been more patient to show off the villains. Chapters 1 and 2 had them front and center right away. Chapter 3 took its time to show us Catnap, with a few breadcrumbs so you remembered he was around. We didn't even see the Doctor in the first part of the chapter, aside from his TV eye. And the claws, assuming that was him.
I love the VA for The Doctor. Such great work and the effects they use to distort his voice are awesome. Especially in the tape about his transformation. Very good stuff.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but the doctor segment was… actually genuinely good? It reminded me of something out of SOMA. no cartoony mascots, just a genuinely solid horror segment.
It reminded me of Machine For Pigs, since there you would be running around in a factory avoiding monster while getting closer and closer to shutting it down!
those robots have weird hitboxes (can run into you without doing damage) and their running animation is really clunky. so it's better in concept than in the game itself unfortunately
may also be that it was the last time that you had a chance to hear and see the base and they their to signal to you to explore before you go if you didn't do it before.
I don't really care what kind of gameplay he uploads, i just really like his calm and strict play style unlike many other streamers that have long intros and nonestop yapping throughout the whole game. Thank you manly. you make me happy every time you upload.
This game did a lot of work getting to the finer details of the story, but at the sacrifice of being, as you alluded to, heavily referential, and really long-winded. It's a transition game
@@thezachman1I get that, this Chapter has the difficult task of being sandwiched between 3, which got the balance on everything just right and presumably the ending chapter 5 which by necessity will wrap everything up. It did the task, but in some areas it could have been better.
@cadenmattern558 yeah, having the audio play while you'd otherwise be silently solving puzzles would've been a good move. The tapes that were just audio over a black screen were a pretty big low point for me
Damn...Doey didn't deserve that fate...or kissy. I wonder how this is all gonna wrap up, if it's gonna end at 5 with us immediately going after the prototype (with poppy's you lost everything line being pointed out) Or if we're gonna at least me some more alive good toys before this all wraps up. We still haven't seen Bron and Boxy and they hyped both of those up alot. We gotta end this with something worth fighting for at the end of this.
Also we all called Ollie a mile away, as soon as Ollie started knowing when catnap was around and the weird tone given it was obvious. Missed opportunity to at least see a commercial or something for a toy called Ollie and to set the player's mind at ease thinking "oh it's just a cute little guy we haven't seen yet." But yeah, I bet a ton of people felt vindicated. It was so obvious I thought they'd change it, and I'm glad they didn't backpedel.
The pacing of this chapter feels off. Its throwing an entire mishmash of new characters. It just has you doing all these different things with no real established "end goal" of the chapter. Chapter 1 was to find Poppy, though we thought we were looking for the employees. Chapter 2 was to escape via the train, but Poppy redirected us. Chapter 3 was to escape the daycare, and killing catnap was just something we had to do to survive. Chapter 4, we're going to safe haven, meeting 3 new characters with almost no foreshadowing to their place in the factory, getting dumped with lore documents and tapes, solving puzzles that seem completely detached from the situations you're in and little to no clues, and we're killing yarnaby, the doctor, blowing up the factory, with no explanation to who actually attacked Kissy... it all seems like the devs couldnt just stick to one direction and decided to include all lf it. Im not saying its horrible, just, on a first watch, kind of difficult to follow along. Might just be me though. The devs still put a lot of work into the game and the environment, and there are a lot of bugs that take away from the quality of the chapter, not to their fault. It just feels detached from the previous 3 chapters.
Yeah... I dont think the chapter is bad at all, actually the horror part was really good compared to the others. But from a different angle it doesn't make a lot of sense out of what is our protagonist true objective
Initially you were meeting up with Poppy's ally aka Doughy. After that it was pretty much killing the doctor since he was both another big threat, and had what you needed to fix the generator to keep The Prototype out of the safe Haven. I do think you're right as there is a lot going on this chapter so it's not as straightforward as the previous ones. So now that we found out The Prototype was playing 4D chess this whole time by getting us to help him blow Safe Haven sky high and lead to us unfortunately killing doughey, which was kind of sad since I did like the conflict between him and Poppy and him being the big brother role for the toys in Safe Haven. So now we're going to save the children which was mentioned last chapter and for some reason being kept in stasis by The Prototype for some unknown reason. Not surprised Huggy is alive either since it's kind of the rule of "if you didn't see them die, they're not dead".
First you are being a little misleading , cause for the three previous chapters you are not doing a summary of the chapter, you are just explaining the endings While for chapter 4 you are describing the whole chapter so is kinda weird Ibget your point but you could phrase it better Tho you ARE right they put too much for chapter 4 in such a little time, chapter 2 was the play station with 3 sections, chapter 3 was the daycare with 5 places, the prison doesnt have sections, just monsters and safe haven so we are just wandering around, tbh I think this chapter needed to be divided in two, chapter 4 for the doctor and his experiments, and chapter 5 for doey, that way we could have 2 chapters with doey and the kids in safe haven
Chapter 4 is a little more ambitious as it tries to do more and different (otherwise it'd be boring) it was not perfect but I feel you are doing it diservice by your description. As someone else said you didnt summarize chapters 1-3, you just mentioned their endings. As per your description of chapter 4, you even include things like "solving puzzles that seem completely dettached to the situations" thats.. been on all chapters so far lol. Its a little more ambitious, and it doesnt nail it perfectly, but its better that they try to mix it up like this, cause having a single main enemy every chapter and beating them by the end of it its a recipe to get boring real fast. You have more enemies now, more ambiguity on their morals/goals, more world-building ish by finding where the good toys were hiding and what was Poppy doing up to now etc etc. Not the best execution but I like the direction they are going for.
@artist0154 Explaining what happened/ what the character is overall trying to achieve at the end of the chapter is a summary of the chapter, though. The reason 4's explanation was different was just like they said, 4 was all over the place of what to achieve this chapter.
I gotta say, it did start to feel a little like Garten of Banban during some of the first half. I suspect with how complex some of the maps were, they originally had the hand-power puzzles. With them gone it felt a bit like a walking simulator during the slow parts. Its a bit annoying that they Aerith'd Doey but it was a pretty clear setup for that.
I don't know man, the dictor felt really...inefficient as a threat. He kept spouting on about how "you're in control of nothing." "Not even the ground you walk on" and there could of thhen more walls closing behind you, more robots attacking you when your back was turned, traps that almost ice you, only to pull back-like he's toying with you. Traps, something that feels...idk like a mad scientist level threat.
Sorry but that's one Doctor Appointment i do NOT want to attend, great playthrough Manly! Another thing i like is the fact they introduce new mechanics after each chapter, like for this they introduced a more better inventory system, we can set small critters on fire, a hand wheel, and even a health system for the small ones that damage you.
It turns out the real horror were the friends we made along the way. --- After watching this, I think Chapter 4 is probably my least favourite of the chapters thus far. Along with some of the issues that Manly already mentioned with this chapter, I also feel like this chapter didn't have (at least for me anyway) any real memorable horror set pieces like the previous chapters did. While I found Chapter 3 to be a little disappointing in how CatNap was used, I still thought it had really good horror moments - namely that horrifying scene with the Smiling Critters crawling into DogDay and possessing him to chase you. This chapter I feel didn't really have anything like that that gave it the extra punch it needed to be as memorable and horrific.
For me Chapter 3 is the least memorable, to the point where I've seen like 3 playthroughs of chapter three and all I can really note is that it exists.
Spoilers Yeahhh....threw my boi Doey off :(( I did expect that would happen but with the way they portrayed him, I just can't help but get attached to the guy. Just hope Kissy takes a break. She's the only toy I trust in the game rn even tho I know she's also not gonna make it out alive. Gg tho
At some point in the next chapter they’re gonna open a door and reveal a pit that goes down to the center of the Earth, which they use to make Bionicles ripoffs or something
It truly is a shame about all the hellscape kids content that gets made from this franchise especially given the last couple of the chapters have been genuinely good thankfully most people can see past the aforementioned hellscape.
I'm mixed on this chapter. I'll admit, I like the lore so it going heavier on that isn't a negative for me, but I do feel there are way too many notes to read; audio diaries wouldn't really fit what they were going for, but you could probably cut those in half and still have it all work. Worse though, I am disappointed by the bugs. I'm certain they'll be patched in time, but now is when people are most excited for the chapter and having the lighting bug out, the notes and tapes respawn, issues with boss fights, they all add up and hurt the experience. Now all that said, I do still think it's good overall. Yarnaby worked well enough as a midboss, the Doctor having multiple bodies to chase you around with in his maze was pretty cool, and I can't really hate a RE4 boss even if it's not as creative as Doey's powers should allow. Even bigger, clear confirmation that the protagonist isn't human so we're a step closer to having that answer. I'm hopeful for the next, almost certainly final, chapter. I just hope the devs take the time to iron things out so Poppy can end on a high note.
He got early access, I'm pretty sure. He's in the end credits with many other creators who get a copy early. I'm glad he split it into two videos. This chapter was pretty sizable lengthwise.
14:40 I watched EmortalMarcus play this and he had an issue where Yarnaby froze next to one of the buttons and he was literally trying to get them to kill him so he could reset and they wouldn't. He apparently had to reset back two save points ago to get it to work right. So there's definitely a few bugs with this chapter. Hopefully it gets fixed quickly for any future players and for when all the chapters are out.
I'm looking forward to the video someone makes showing this game out of bounds. I am curious as to what happened with Yarnaby; he seemed bugged or something.
1:44:30 What if the protag is actually a toy? A toy like Barbie or Kent, a human toy! So even if it left the company it wouldnt be suspicious for it to live among humans?
Bro they been doing this since chapter one, at this point its on you for getting mad that a villain gets killed so you can deal with the primary antagonist. 😅
Great you just summed up all of the chapters of poppy playtime :D But seriously killing the doctor was my least favourite part of this chapter, there was no reason except he was a “bad guy” and held a key. Instead I feel it would’ve been better if they replaced all the new characters except maybe doey to be just the doctor, make him have this big role to play because he’s literally the guy who started it all, instead of killing the doctor have us sneak by or something that way in future chapters or something he can come back or something Idk just spitballing cause I feel like they should’ve killed off mommy long legs and maybe just let the player escape or atleast wound catnap instead of killing him. I feel to kill off these creatures it makes it formulaic and prevents the scare factor cause after catnap and even before WE the player know how this is gonna end and it’s with them in the grave, instead having these creatures overpower and survive the encounters with the player makes it scary
far inferior to ch3 unfortunately :( just a mishmash of different characters and sitting there watching lore…. i wish yarnaby had gotten his time to shine. sort of a letdown in many aspects
I found that the way Doey "worked" underneath was pretty interesting. It looked like a bunch of stretchy, tiny humanoid robots encased in the clay so it could move and stretch around. Maybe I'm wrong but isn't also loosely implied that multiple kids were used to make him? Wouldn't be surprised if his whole split personality thing came into play because of it.
I don’t think it’s robots since he can squish through areas like that, but the kids who were used’s bodies. but yeah, 3 kids were totally used as hinted on his body pattern
Wow, it seems Yarniby(?)'s stealth section is incredibly borked during another creators run it was extremely aggressive and could kill through walls, during Manly's it didn't even show up.
If I had a nickle for every time Yarnaby didn't spawn in the puzzle section, I'd have two nickles. Which isn't a lot but it's strange that it happened twice (specially since I only saw 2 youtubers play this)

Manly: I was never attacked by Yarnaby
Yarnaby: *silent hill music*
Yo. That got me good!!!
Manly's reaction was priceless 😂

“It’s burning alright.”
I appreciate that, after all these years, you’ve still never dropped this joke.
I love the VA for The Doctor. Such great work and the effects they use to distort his voice are awesome. Especially in the tape about his transformation. Very good stuff.
"i guess I never saw yarnaby" perfect timing lmao
Very odd how Yarnaby has a tendency to bug out and not spawn for his patrol sequence, hope that gets fixed
1:01:27 classic case of "we cut content from our game but forgot to accommodate some lines afterwards"
may also be that it was the last time that you had a chance to hear and see the base and they their to signal to you to explore before you go if you didn't do it before.

The Bioshock inspiration is getting laid on pretty thick, also the lore tapes are long. I think they could have trimmed those down a bit.
Bioshock knew that they should let the player explore while listening to the tapes; something I think that the devs here probably could have done.
This game did a lot of work getting to the finer details of the story, but at the sacrifice of being, as you alluded to, heavily referential, and really long-winded. It's a transition game

I love when the factory facility has an underground cave just a mile or so bellow. Its good for storage

**Ding!**
"OH GOD- 😃"
I just finished watching the first part not even 10 minutes ago. Thank you manly, gotta keep drawing meanwhile watching this!
real
I think yarnaby didn’t spawn in that first chase sequence hence why we didn’t see him at all lmao
Ngl... that last tape was a really good setup.
We all saw Ollie comin a mile away😂 still that’s unfortunate also great videos bro
It was either Ollie or Poppie, or both (which can still happen I guess) but Poppie would have been too early/on the nose, so it had to be Ollie.
Security breach taught be a lot.
@@bluewolf7111 Poppie technically did happen, since she did abandon us to die.

Every time you speak I hear Kronk voicing your lines for you. You do a great Kronk impression, don't you?

"You're gonna freeze alright"
"You're gonna shock alright"

I cant lie, this series has some of the BEST screams in horror gaming. Kudos to the voice actors
It did come out very quickly
> introduces really cool new villain
> kills him off in the same chapter
Literally why
Bro they been doing this since chapter one, at this point its on you for getting mad that a villain gets killed so you can deal with the primary antagonist. 😅
Great you just summed up all of the chapters of poppy playtime :D
But seriously killing the doctor was my least favourite part of this chapter, there was no reason except he was a “bad guy” and held a key. Idk just spitballing cause I feel like they should’ve killed off mommy long legs and maybe just let the player escape or atleast wound catnap instead of killing him.

Whoo. I was waiting for this video.
Finally was waiting since last night for peak
Earliest I've been to a Manly video!
I love your commentary
8 seconds ago is manly
Maybe the playtime was the poppy we made along the way.
Manly: “You know I never got chased by Yarnaby-“
Yarnaby: “Would you like to talk about our lord and saviour Jesus Christ?”
And thank you manly for posting again
I rally like your voice. :3 Thx for gameplay
I noticed a pattern in these chapters...
The left-hand is a PRO survivor compare to the right-hand which it's always suffering.
bro I was flabbergasted that Micheal Kovach voiced doey, like you cannot convince me that man cannot do any voice now
I found that the way Doey "worked" underneath was pretty interesting.
I think he merged with the corpses in the room.
But obviously the angry "kid" and the kid in the vat were used to make doey.
The man, the myth, the legend Manly🔥🙌
justifiable crashout from doey honestly
loved the inclusion of playtime dough/
I definitely see a bioshock inspiration on this chapter I love bioshock so I’m not complaining
I just finished watching part 1! Thank you for posting part 2
Wow, it seems Yarniby(?)'s stealth section is incredibly borked during another creators run it was extremely aggressive and could kill through walls, during Manly's it didn't even show up.
Right on schedule. I just sat down to eat
That ending got me emotional. What the heck Poppy?! This was supposed to be fun!

manly running away from the tv men from skibidi toilet was not on my bingo card for 2025 also doey had a shy guy moment
Wow I don’t think I’ve ever been this early on anybody’s video. Literally just finished part one
My man got it before IGP!
The Doey fight music kinda slaps and I’m here for it.
I like the fact that Huggy wuggy can be seen on top of the piles of plushies at the start of the chapter
I hope kissy is okay :(
Thank you mr manly, hope you get a good rest
FINALLLY!!
Micheal Kovach was the VA for Doey? It's like he's trying to go for a world record of VA for as many things as possible.
If I had a nickle for every time Yarnaby didn't spawn in the puzzle section, I'd have two nickles. Which isn't a lot but it's strange that it happened twice (specially since I only saw 2 youtubers play this)
More 1 pm uploads nice
Eyyy, next part is here already
Finally getting early here
It sucked all that start of the Yandby fight bugged out. It has for so many people. 😊
Doey's crashout was so deserved ngl
I JUST finished the first playthrough! Can't believe I'm on-time for once.
