Cheers mate, sadly life has got in the way so to speak and havent got the time to make videos anymore. There were plans for alot of videos including your suggestions, maybe someday. Congratulations on the car, enjoy it!
Nice to see you have taken my father advice, when travelling take some toilet paper with you. My car has an annoying cricket sound from the motor on it's lowest setting, fine on higher settings. One problem, remove the pollen filter, leaves can fall out, might get later sucked to motor. I fitted some mesh on the air intake to stop leaves and twigs getting to pollen filter.
Haha, never leave home without it! :P It sounds to me you might have or going to have the same issue since it´s getting better with a higher setting on the fan. Guessing it might get worse over the next week or weeks. But I can report that since I did this I havent´t been needing to do anything else, so apperently it did the trick very well. Yeah, why they don´t have any kind of mesh to begin with I´ll never know.
Thanks for the video. I still have to replace the blower motor. Looking for a new blower motor I see some different brands. Can anyone recommend the best brand? Or are original parts the only way to go?
My bad buddy, I'll keep it in mind for future videos. If you have removed every screw it is just a matter of applying force. And you need to apply more than you think, but without breaking anything ofcourse. But imo its quite sturdy and wont break easily. Hope it works out!
@@trackdayjunkie7777 Thanks for making this video! I am now more confident and going to have a try. But I also think I need more specific information about where the tab is, and in which direction I have to put the significant amount of force to the glovebox. It would also be helpful to know how many screws I need to remove and whereabout they are placed. Many thanks for helping out, the blower noise is super irritating.
@@marcelvanwijngaarden9493 Right, in hindsight I really should have been more precise about that and kinda hard explaining afterwards in text but I´ll give it a try. First of my car is an MY -09 and I´ve been told later models(guessing form -12 and onwards) may have the airbag in the way, just something to keep in mind. Can´t remember the exact amount of screws but they are all visible when looking inside, think all are located nearest the hatch itself all the way around from bottom to top. Once this is done the glovebox will then hang slightly downwards, by that point you apply force in the direction the glovebox is pointed outward towards the door. I kind of wiggled it while pulling at the same time if that makes sense. Once out you will see that it´s like a tab or "pin" that slots into a groove which is the only thing keeping it in place with the screws undone. I hope this helps somewhat, good luck.
This video is so helpful for my weekend project! It wasn't easy to remove so many parts while filming it. Thank you ❤
I now have an E89 and appreciate the videos. Thanks. If you still have your E89, I would enjoy videos of road trips or car meets in Sweden.

Thanks for the video! Just changed my blower motor for a new one and this was super helpful!

If the OEM part isnt overpriced I would go for that, but I cant think it matters to much.
Well, I did not get it out... you did not mention the airbag assembly under the glovebox?
Airbag assembly? In my case I did not need to go anyway near it. What MY do you have? Mine is a -09 so maybe it differs somewhat?
@@trackdayjunkie7777 yes, there is an airbag underneath the glovebox... it's at 2014...
@@widomenhardt8680 Alright, good to know. Then BMW changed the location of it for some reason on later cars. Hope it worked out anyway!
I wish you had shown where the tab was exactly and what other screws were catching in the back left corner. I'm still struggling to get mine out.
My bad buddy, I'll keep it in mind for future videos.
