Been railfanning the Gallup and Clovis Subs my whole life. There is just something so serene about being out in the badlands of NM with mountains and buttes rising in the distance watching trains go by one after the other.
Nice work, as usual. I find the 3000 year old lava interesting. In geological time, that happened yesterday. Love the details you give about the trains and the areas of interest.
Awesome video. My last run on interstate 40 as an OTR driver was over two years ago. I used to pickup and deliver at the paper mill in Prewitt for many years.😊
I really enjoy seeing the beautiful countryside of New Mexico and the awesome trains as they roll down the tracks through the small towns and the awesome scenery, thank you very much.🇺🇲🚂🚃🚃🚂🇺🇲
Excellent scenery! Love the fast trains, BNSF is one of my favorite railroads, they haul lots of freight trains such as tankers (my favorite), grain, manifest, autoracks, etc
Thanks for the memories! I lived out there in 2015. Used drive down to Suwanee and Lucero Mesa. There was an old radio station building just east of Mormon Crossing complete with antenna and neon call letters just like the cover of the Journey album "Raised on Radio."
used to live near Gallup. you could always see the BNSF trains running along I-40 and through Gallup. I could hear the low rumble of the locos in my house about a mile south of the RR usually around 3 AM.
New Mexico is a beautiful place, and the old stone buildings are just awesome. They stand the test of time and were built well. No modern technology just living next to the earth like Grandmother earth intended us to do!
Interesting train at 1:24:10 to be a "Z" train, 99% JB hunt containers except a couple Yellow/YRC trailers near the end, with only 2 engines. All of that stuff must of been empties.
Just an F.Y.I. There is also a freight train that runs over Raton which comes from Wichita carrying fuselages of 737s up to Boeing in Seattle. There are also other cars attached, but it's mainly the aircraft bodies.
That is a strange, out of the way, seemingly unnecessarily difficult and longer route than is needed, by a lot, route! From looking at the map, that seems like at least 1000 miles out of the way.
The *BNSF* fuselage trains leave _Spirit AeroSystems_ in Wichita headed northeast to Kansas City, and continue up the St. Joseph sub and are ultimately routed west via the former *Northern Pacific* main through southern Montana. There are many videos of the fuselages in green primer traversing Santa Fe junction in KC and along the former *Montana Rail Link* operated portion of BNSF on TH-cam. Apart from the two daily *Amtrak* _Southwest Chief_ trains in each direction, the Raton Pass route south of Trinidad has been pretty quiet. Has BNSF regularly operated _any_ freight trains over *Raton* and *Glorietta* passes during the past 5 years?

I grew up in Gallup. The Santa Fe railroad was great to watch. The motive power was a great mixture of power. The BNSF is nothing but the Boring orange GEs
Tri-State G&T acquired Escanlante generating station in the early nineties. PEGS is now closed due to governmental regulation making coal burning a no no.

1:04:06 What a wonderful capture of the morning mist, cottonwoods, lava fields, and backdrop of Mt Taylor. This truly is the "Land of Enchantment."
Always, in every video, excellent photography, editing, information, and narration!! Always superb videos! 🛤️
By far the best train channel on TH-cam, thanks again for sharing!

I can’t wait for the Clovis sub, maybe that’ll be a story for another time
Love your thumbnail dude! ❤👍😎
@@SPRailfan4449 thank you 😎

Does the Clovis sub run all the way to Amarillo or does it end at Clovis?
@mattanderson6336 i think it starts at the State Line Texico, NM (Clovis)

That's cool. Wish I had a shot of that station.

For a minute there, i thought i was seeing the very rare and illusive steel flatbed unit train!!

I agree with you, that doesn't sound right. Maybe I should consult the scriptwriter or the narrator about that. Oh wait! They're both me!
The Caboose in Grants is now mounted in front of the city hall building repainted
I love it! How to you get them to honk their horns when they go buy?
Been a while since seeing videos like this.
Very cool
Will you ever do a video on BNSF’s Clovis Sub through Abo Canyon?

Awsome!
I love these videos and would consider buying a DVD, but DVDs are becoming outdated. Do you have any ideas on what to do?
Also I would love to see some CSX or NS Subdivisions
