How can you compare 18.5K printer with 8.5K printer, that too latest inktank with older inkjet? Not valid. Compare with similar ranges n types.

HP has better shadows, while Canon has better contrast ratio. Noise is less in Canon. I bought both HP 516 and Canon 3012.

in terms of color accuracy , Canon print same as its looking on laptop .. see the fruits colors ... sky is also seems more blue in the HP print but accurate in canon.. HP prints are bit darker always as per my experience.. Canon is more netural. whenever i have to print for HP .. i always make extra bright to make print look normal .. but for canon it prints same as its on screen..
BTW i have used all three Major Brands ( HP, Canon, Esson) over the years. .. for Photo Print -- canon is more Recommeded.
Cannon main fruit colour is briliant from HP my vote for Cannon

I have previously heard that Hp in general gives a warmer tone and Canon a natural tone of the picture... May be thats why.. Hp gives the darker water effect.?? And thats why people love it??
I think both the print out should also be compared to the original picture (in laptop) that was used for print out.

@clickreviews: Nice. But comparison whould be based on the same/similar printers.
Canon is more natural. the Blues in canon print are lighter making more closer to natural.. You will never have such Dark Bluish sky. No wonder we all love darker blues and saturated contrasts.
Your team was only looking at the sky and water. After spending sometime, I see that the food items had more sharpness, natural colors (the burger, watermelon, Cream on the cake and its contrast were better on Canon!)
In HP print, the food items were slightly dull compared to canon. While the Blues in the Sky and Sea has greater saturation (which your team said had good brightness, IMO its not brightness, it was the saturation which was overwhelming the photo).
Hoping for more comparisions and plz compare similar products with similar technology. (although printing tech is same, the INK is diff, so it would make a diff, I think!)

I am having issues with my canon ts8222 if I print only letters with some pictures on in they print really good but when I print something that has barcodes like a shipping label and invoice that has lines on it they print out blurry with lines

You should take atleast 1 print a week so that ink heads do not dry. This problem is with every inkjet printer
