Düsseldorf, a beautiful city in the western part of Germany, is especially nice to visit in summer. This video walk was filmed on a hot day in August 2022 at 34°C. Düsseldorf is a regional hub for banking, advertising, fashion, shopping and Japanese culture. The city offers lots of cultural variety, shopping and leisure options and also an great nightlife on the weekends. Here I am walking around the shopping area in the Altstadt (Old Town) to the picturesque Rhine embankment promenade and then heading to the well-known bar & restaurant area where plenty of beer taverns are located, many of which serve a proprietary version of Düsseldorf city’s brew of choice: The Altbier. Right afterwards you will see the KÖ-Bogen II area and then Little Tokyo in the Immermannstraße where many Japanese shops and restaurants are located. Most visitors to Germany are only opting to explore the bigger hotspots like Hamburg, Munich, Berlin and Cologne. But this beautiful and enchanting city is more than deserving of attention. Düsseldorf also houses the largest Japanese community in Germany and one of the largest in Europe.
