One of my favourite episodes of TableTop. Came here to pay tribute to Grant Imahara, who passed away sadly today. Let’s remember him for his contributions to the world and our imagination. Rest in Peace.
f
@@SylasGamesYT this is for tabletop gamers, video gamer
RIP Grant, you were one of the reason why I dove into the hobby
f
Came here in memoriam of Grant Imahara. He will be missed.
Same. My man. Time to have a good laugh/cry
Same. He will be missed.
He was such a kind, talented soul and brought so much joy to the world... He will be sorely missed.
Me too. I remember him here since I never did watch much Mythbusters.
Rip Grant. Your spirit will live on
Rest in peace, Grant. You were amazing, no other words needed. You'll be missed by all.
f
@@SylasGamesYT what the hell is that supposed to mean?
@@AahzmandusPervect he’s paying respects. “Press F to Pay respect” originally came from like a call of duty game or something iirc
RIP Grant Imahara. Rewatching in his memory.
f
RIP Grant. A legend of my childhood
RIP Grant, AS a Board Games Enthusiast always enjoyed Tabletop with him included.
Im back again. Every few years I come back to watch this entire series. I.. do miss this.
Paying respects to Grant... this was by far one of my favourite episodes. The world is a lesser place today.
f
Rest in peace Grant. You will be dearly missed
Rest In Peace Grant... You will be missed... 💔
So it's 2019. And I still come back here ever so often, just to enjoy the wonderful nerdiness of this idea. So well done. The whole series. Thanks to this series, I started visiting my mom and brother again, to play some board games . And we still do to this day.
Grateful kudos to Wil and Felicia and the whole team that made this possible.
Thanks.
Just wanted to say that.
Diego Avila do you know why they stopped tabletop
@@liveme7025 website changed hands.
William Hughes pretty sure all his fans miss him.
Same here. Will is great
Christopher Sang sucks that Tabletop ended I really hope they bring it back someday.
Grant, you brightened the world of everyone around you, friends and fans alike. Be at peace.
Rip Grant so sad my thoughts and prayers go to your friends and family
RIP Grant, I only know him from here (we don't have MythBusters where I live), but he seemed like a really cool dude
If we can do a second season, I would LOVE to invite Sean back for a game with some other winners from this season.
8 years latter. soooo how about a few more seasons.
Moreeeee will pleeeeease give us moreeee 😭
Sorry G&S did a garbage job taking care of you Will, thank you for making a series with so much heart
Sean is definitely missed on this channel, as well as tabletop. Where’s spellslingers gone anyway?
That's a brilliant idea
"He pillaged me right through the back door." -Grant Imahara
I watched this video two days ago and never thought I was going to put a comment here. It is sad to experience a passing of a great person. RIP Grant Imahara.
RIP Grant Imahara. This guy & his team made me believe in objective learning. His death is untimely, I wanted to see so much more of him..
"Where we blow things up in the name of science."
The best description of Mythbusters ever.
Damon Fyrian Not only that. They also ate, crashed, crushed, ducted taped, listened, ripped, smelled, shot, sung, and sunk all in the name of science. And it was amazing! 😁 God, I miss that show. 😞
Robert Walker There's another version on Netflix right now.
Team VLCN WHAATTT!?
"In the name of science" is a good way of putting it. "In the practice of science" would not have been so honest.
This show is a really good way to introduce yourself to fun new board games without actually having to find a copy of it first.
After watching, can't stop myself from getting the games. it's just too much fun to ignore. 😂
Will is such a gosh darn sweetheart on table top. I feel like people could lose against him 6 times in a row and still feel good about themselves as long as he gives those awesomely encouraging comments
6:13... my first thoughts were; "Korean!? Really? Does he know Korean?"
And then I remembered that he said he commentated Starcraft... well that explains that.
He not only commentates Starcraft 2, but was a top rated Brood War player.
He at least can say thanks and pronunciation seems okay. I wonder how much Korean he actually speaks.
Nathan Simpson He knows Gosu... thats good enough lol
Ssex
10 years latter and it is still the best board game production show with the exception of MTG Game Knights. The creators caught self-destructive magic in a bottle. I KNOW there would be an audience if someone took up the mantle and did it right.
Rest in peace Grant, we will miss you :(
This show was clearly a good idea. You can never tell if some games are complicated or not before you play them. Yes it is 10+, but some games can be really complex with their rules and others, such as this, are nice and easily laid out. I feel confident in buying this for my nephews when they're a little older and myself for my gaming group as I can tell I can just dive right in without needing to look at the rules over and over before a next move.
I actually would prefer to see a video of a fresh game opened and set up, rules read etc etc to give a good idea of complexity - with no one knowing the rules - the closest I have seen to that is some guys playing Arkham Horror where its almost 1 hour of set up
I think this is better as the rules aren't shoved in your face and over the course of the game you are reminded and told of rules so it sticks in your head a lot more. Just my opinion though.
@@The_gaming_archaeologist guys do you think this game worth to buy ?
@@ardaugur7110 If you have friends to play it with then yes. There's a PC version which is pretty much a carbon copy, but I found it more fun with real people in real life.
Came here to say we need some more tabletop with Will. Would be perfect time to bring back this series.
Geek & Sundry's TableTop introduced me, my husband, and our friends to Small World and it has quickly become one of our favorite games!
Rest in peace Grant, I can't believe you're gone... :(
here to remember how amazing Grant was... rest in peace
just wanted to reminisce of the good times we all had with Wil Wheaton.....right in the feels
When I heard Wil was 42 I was like...WHHAAAAA?????
Then I watched this and was like....Nooooo...couldn't be!
Coolest dude ever.
Well, him and The Rock.
I'm sure scheduling for everyone is very tough but I really wish this group that played "small world" , the group for "resistance" and "stone age" could all be re-united for another different game. So many personalities and fun!
Yes DAY 9! If only Felicity was here to see you now!
Man, this show still rocks.
This arguably birthed the modern board game era and subsequent rpg renaissance. Facinating to look back on.
too bad i dont have friends who are into these kind of games
You see all of us in the comments? WE ARE YOUR FRIEEENNNDDSSSSS.........
I have friends that play these games but I only get to see them once a month
I feel your pain. I've managed to get a couple of friends to play some board games but they like to stick to the same one or two simple ones over and over. I don't think I'd stand a chance trying to get them to play Small World.
Too bad I don't have friends...
Friends are overrated. Ok, time to return to my soul-crushing loneliness and cry in the corner.
2016 REVIVAL OF TABLETOP
Not sure if trump agrees
26:27 Sean's 'oh shit I was very mean' face is priceless.
I already miss Imahara.
Just said.. "OMG 11 years!!". Man i watched so many of these episodes and rewatched Dead of Winter maybe hindreds of times! Thanks!
Twice did Sean transition into losing his whole fucking base, but in the end he pulled through.
6:13 I love how the subs say "SEAN PLOTT: [INAUDIBLE]" when I heard him say "thank you" in Korean XDDDD
From 2023 i still remember this it was the bestttt
Man came back to this video and man to rewatch this again...love it DAY[9]!
I pulled what they call a college: The bare minimum xp
*at college
Hahaha, what an ending, Day9 is awesome !
I love sean so fucking much. the look on his face when everyone was counting points was just halarious
I love coming back to watch all of these episodes. Tabletop and Will Wheton is why I came to this channel. Then to see Grant here is another punch to the gut. Gosh.
my god, sean is too funny
RIP Grant Imahara 😢
Love this episode. Thanks guys!
I just starters the series and I can tell I'm going to love it! I've play Smallworld so many times
The Ghouls can't attack the same turn you put them into decline!
RIP Grant. Gone too soon 😢
Love your shows, Wil--really enjoy the comedy, the game explanations and especially the demonstration of how much fun tabletop games can be. Hopefully more people will put down the game controllers and tv remotes and get into gaming! Keep the shows coming!
Wil Wheaton you are just awesome. Just found this series now, man I missing out!
Can I just say, that was a dope ass Prisoner reference?
Can I say, I totally agree with you?
Totally underrated media
Richard Rominger Word
we want table top and wil back
I really started to get into tabletop gaming after watching this channel and my favourite games were all played by Grant. RIP Grant, you brought a lot of joy and will be missed.
Let the rewatch bingewatch of all the seasons BEGIN!
Day 9 is the best, I re-watch this episode just to listen to his commentary.
AsteroidJesus I’m here during the corona lockdown just to watch him as well xD
"Who are you?"
"I am the new number 2."
"Who is number 1?"
"...You are number 6."
"I am not a number! I am a free man!"
"...Ha ha ha ha ha!"
I love that show and that song.
I have been interested in this show ever since I heard about it a year ago. I am so glad I watched it finally!
Played this a few days ago, so much fun!
So there was a time when Wil didn't always roll terribly. Hahaha.
Day 9 is the best also that dude made a Prisoner joke. haha
It wasn't until the end of the video that I realized Sean was Day9. It never fails that his cheerful antics make me smile, haha.
This series is amazing. so glad i came accross it. Thanks Guys
Day[9]: Wait what!? Wait, oh my god, wait, hey, wow, what the fuck!?
I laughed so hard out of that reaction from Day[9], hahahaha!
Oh god it's GRANT?! *sudden nostalgia*
Had to imagine this is not only 10 years old (almost anyways), but that Grant has left this world during that time. Smallworld was my introduction to the 'new' world of board games beyond the more mainstream ones, and I'll always love the back and forth in this episode that changed everything for me.
One of my favorite episodes
in the credits, for the category of "catering" they hav "food fetish" lol
thats a company "lol" ;-;
Gotta love the "free man" reference. Classic.
***** The Prisoner is a great song.
Rest in peace, Grant. You brought so much joy to the world. It's grown darker since your passing.
this was alot of fun to watch. i'm hooked! must have this game!!!
"My strategy in the game is to avoid the fact that Grant is a dick." LMAO, I love Day9 so much
After watching that Big Bang theory episode where wil says: "I even have my own web series on board games" - I thought holy shit that would be awesome. And it turns out he only plays the best games out there, with some wierd not well known ones mixed in. You're the best wil!!!
I miss this show so much
I totally agree with you. I think that tabletop is probably one of the best shows that I have seen. I have bought a number of games because of it and now enjoy more time with my family. Thank you Tabletop. You are awesome and deserve a season 2.
Best episode, Day9 is hysterical ^^
7:30 lok-tar ogarr!
One of the very best shows out there. Hope we'll get much, much more.
First time watching this as I wanted to see how Small World played. Great episode with some fun people and the game looks fun as hell! Cheers.
Day9!
TableTop 2016! TableTop 2016! Everybody! TableTop 2016! TableTop 2016! Please, please, please...
PLEASE
+Tom Cassidy realy? Nice! Thank you :)
+lucas cavalini I read online somewhere that they've just started filming Season 4. It was sometime in April. But as Tom Cassidy said, it will be released sometime soon.
YASSSS I WANTED TO MAKE A COMMENT LIKE THIS
Tabletop Season 4 is done filming but it's not up to Will, are Geek and sundary who decide when it get released it's G&S' parent company that does
THis was one of the best episodes on tabletop. Man I miss this show.
Please PLEASE do another season!!! This show has given us some great games for our weekly game night!
In the very first round, Sean isn't using the correct amount of tokens to conquer with the Giants. He's playing with them as if they conquer regions adjacent to Mountain regions cost 1 less, but you have to occupy said Mountains first.
Ooh
Stopped watching immediately because that's the game ruined right there.
Ye this made me very angry :P
21:15 "I've actually been keeping track in my head of the score. You are actually really far ahead of everybody. You are the barefoot Kenyan guy." haha good one. "Yeah! With no arms." wait what?
Bought this last week. Much fun. So battles. Very victories.
Absolutely love this game; as Wil says, the replay value is incredible, before you even start considering expansion packs.
Today I start my rewatch, the episode that brought me to the Board Game Hobby... NEXT! #Tabletop2019
6:15 day9 said thank you in Korean...
6:12.
Nice :)
Because his brother, Tasteless, works as a SC2 caster in Korea :)
Well he also both a caster and a pro gamer, so lots of experience in korea
I know Grant is in a few episodes, but I like his cameos.
I'm going to start binge watching this I'm happy
Sean is awesome...
"Wait a minute...f*** you Grant!"
When Sean won he should have said, "Myth busted, bitch."
Hey cell, you probably could code a pretty good site with no CS degree. Client side html and javascript are pretty simple and there are a lot of tools that can help you. As long as you have the site hosted.
Where I feel you need to have some sort of formal education is if you are planning on running the client side (the site) and the server side. You really need to know sound programming principles to manage the server side. If you are doing ecommerce you need to know how to properly protect your server and the databases they are going to be using.
You can probably brute force your way through the learning process but most start up sites that show any promise are usually purchased by larger companies. So, if you have terrible code they may not buy and if you get investors they may force you out for a credentialed CEO. It happens a lot.
I see a lot of people who think because they can code they can just start a company, but that is really not true. Your value lies in your ability to solve problems within the scope of your project. You have to be able to create and analyse algorithms. Or take existing algorithms and make them more efficient. It's not just calling methods, setting variable, and knowing how to loop.
Hope this helps.
This was an incredible episode! Totally gonna start up a game night to start building a collection!
I super geek out when I saw the cast of this show
