Thanks Zeddie! Incredible to think that Raikkonen was 4th with 32 points, 26 behind the championship leader, and still got the title in the end. But the leader wasn't mighty Alonso, rather the future all-mighty Hamilton! McLaren didn't know how to handle this and we all know it after 17 years talking about this story. Massa was 3rd... if he had worked harder he could've been the world champion. What a year. And a lesson that McLaren doesn't apply, haven't learnt at all, making the same mistakes today even with different people in charge and after being down in the dumps. Lastly, young Vettel, first race, yeah... no need to say more

I was there! The sound the F1 cars had in the oval part was unbelievable, nothing after this race has ever sound louder around the ovals. I'm so glad I went it was the best race weekends in my memory. The V8s of that era was louder than the V12 and V10s that came bfore it, they were ear piercing. All the manufactuers were pushing the best out of the V8s at the time they produced the best ever F1 sound in my opinion.

@@VenusDoom891 regardless of Kimi's sensational pace, he was still 17 points off with 2 races to go. Mclaren threw it away, probably instructed to do so "convincingly" after Spygate. Can't help but wonder how Lewis would've entered the Shanghai pit lane if he'd have actually been told that he was on tyres so bald they were down to the canvas. Also, Mclaren sacked Mike Coughlan immediately and provided the FIA all of their technical drawings related to car updates to prove that not a single piece of Ferrari intel or technology made it to their car. I'm not sure lying about how many people had been given intel from Coughlan constitutes "cheating their asses off", but I guess the £100m fine suggests otherwise

I don't know for staying at Indianapolis, but for sure the U.S Grand Prix could've stayed on the 2008 schedule at a different track. Just realised what a horrible circuit this was for Ralf (in massive contrast to his brother!). Retired from 2nd in 2000, retired in 2001 when nowhere, collision with Montoya in 2002, also spun out in 2003, massive crash in 2004 which caused him to miss several races, had the quali crash in 2005 which led to Michelin-gate, retired late on from the points in 2006 and out first lap in 2007. On the other hand it was a great circuit for his current teammate Trulli. In the points every time apart from 2000 (though he qualified well and was taken out by Button) and 2005 where it wasn't his fault he was one of many Michelin runners who had no control over the situation, though he did get Toyota's first "pole" at the time!

23:04 when the Mclarens were deep in backmarkers us interesting. James says he doesn't think the drivers lost any time. Alonso, definitely not. Wurz ceded track position from such a long way back in T1. Alonso went to the inside long before the braking point and Wurz backed right off to let him through. Hamilton definitely lost more time in the traffic together, and then Alonso followed through once a few drivers had made their point that they weren't all "monkeys at the back". And right on cue, Luizzi held him behind for an entire lap and almost cost him the lead of the race by giving Alonso a sniff on the next lap

Hamilton moving late to block Alonso... Brundle - What's the beef?
Schumacher moving late to block Barrichello at Hungary - Michael should receive a penalty....
Their Hamilton bias was evident from day 1 🤣🤣 Exact same as the way they all grovel at Norris' feet now lmao

Where did hamilton move late to block alonso you numpty? He always moved first but i guess we cant expect you to understand simple racing can we... And the schumacher move had a wall there since you are forgetting or maliciously ignoring it. If you are gonna try to be clever or cheeky at least be right, stupid mtfckr. Go watch Ziggo or whatever the hell its called now to learn what biased actually means. Let me know if you need any more lessons.

Two of Lewis's earliest fanbois Allen and Brundle the adulation is comical. Ron Dennis taking every opportunity to sabotage Alonso as usual.

How on earth was Alonso sabotaged here? he was outqualified and out-raced. Let's not forget until and including Monaco, Mclaren had been bringing Hamilton in early for fuel stops to ensure Alonso could beat him. If they'd carried on favouring one driver they'd have won the title well before Moseley told them to hand it to a Ferrari driver.

@@BonnetLicker86313agree with all of this except the handing over to Ferrari. McLaren drivers bottled it. First Alonso with Fuji which Lewis won btw so no sign of a handover happening given that pit Lewis on course to win the title in China and Kimi having very little chance of coming back unless Lewis didn't score in one of the races. Then Lewis in china. Lewis doesn't put it in the gravel, Kimi is out of the title race before Brazil
