RK9, I would love for you to do a comprehensive video on tires. All types and how to maintain and repair them. Also odds of a flat with different types and other problems etc... Do a big tire episode please.
Definitely keep us posted on how to repair the back tire, I caught a nail on mines and been riding for a few days, and haven’t had an issue yet, nail isn’t too deep so I’ve kept it in there until my new set of tires come in the mail.
I thought this had solid tires on it? That why I'm trying to find self healing tire, solid or tubeless. I am used to solid tired from my old scotter snd wanna upgrade. I wanted the apollo city pro 22 but I've heard about the charger etc issues and it takes forever to get and other ones which everything has issues but I need a good dual motor commute acotter with solid tires or jaut no flats k work to much
Do you know if they make hybrid tires for the 8? You loose a bit of top speed and slightly reduced grip on streets, but you do have a lot of material to work with (if it's a nail or glass it would go through the thead and not puncture the tire). Also they do make special fluid for tubeless tires, it's called armor-dilloz... I believe Voro Motors has it under the name Dr Orange it costs $30. I'm not promoting it I'm just giving out information.
This scooter is really intriguing. It is the combo of size and power that seem fun. Compared to other high powered scooters how is the handling & carving abilities?
Interested about the tyre size - 8inch? Your video in Jan 21 about Top 5 Changes to Electric Scooters I Want To See - you mentioned 10inch should be a minimum and you would like to see 11 or 12inch tyre options. Can you swap the 8inch tyres on this to a 10inch? On the Mantis 10, can you swap a 10inch tyre out for 11 or 12inch (road tyre)?
hi, i’m debating between this and the varla pegasus. i am a beginner rider and from what i’ve seen, the mantis has better brakes and overall build, and the pegasus has better top speed and solid tires. is it worth the chance of flat tires to get this scooter? i’m worried it’ll be a hassle. thanks!
Hey man, I've been watching your reviews and loving it. What camera do you use? Also what would be your number 1 pick for a scooter with solid tires? I'd rather not deal with flats. It looks like the Varla Pegasus you reviewed is good.
Yeah this was recorded on a GoPro hero 8 black 1440p 60fps. I record at max bit rate and export at max bit rate in premiere to try and get the best quality. As far as a solid tire scooter the Pegasus is definitely my top recommendation.
@@RK9Rides was actually considering the Pegasus for this reason, have you gotten to fix your flat though? I waited for the reviews yet havent been able to pick, I would use it to make deliveries so i was thinking the Varla, for bigger batt for longer trips but the Mantis' range is also a big plus.
Love the FPV on thr Eagle one and then this one, back to the roots. uploaded a vid on thr Ghost td, have the Varla Peg otw as a new addition. scooter gxng.
I'm having a really tough time deciding between getting this or the Varla Pegasus. I'm leaning toward the Pegasus, but any advice on here from anyone on which you would choose would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
if you want speed and maintenance free tires go with the pegasus, the new mantis 8 though have better controls now, the dual/single and eco buttons light up blue now, and they have turn signals plus a blue deck light, BUT, the mantis 8 has a small battery and could only go at least 29mph right after a charge, but after a while it wont be able to reach that speed but can maintain over 20 to 25 mph.
When I contacted Kaabousa to purchase replacement tires, they simply said to run a search for 8" mantis tires on Aliexpress. Might not arrive til February...
The Varla Eagle One is far superior to the mantis 8. This is NOT the best scooter of the year. For 400.00 more you get twice the motor power, way better suspension, hydro brakes w/ABS and up to 40mph. At top speed of 25 mph, the mantis 8 will get incredibly boring after a few rides. And 25 mph is TOP speed and you're only gonna get to that if you're a 100lbs on flat terrain low elevation. Hell even the Varla Pegasus is way superior than mantis 8 at the same price point.
I assume you have ridden all three scooters? If not you need to chill. The Mantis 8 and the eagle one appeal to different groups of riders. If you need something portable then the Mantis 8 is superior. The Mantis 8 appeals to the widest range of riders at a great price for what you get, hence why it is my scooter of the year. There is more to scooters than top speed my dude
Big news! The first ever line of RK9 Rides apparel and merch is out!

2023 and still waiting for the video of how to change the tire of the mantis 8
Everybody in the comments is asking you how you fixed your flat tire and you've answered nobody. Great job buddy!

Yes.
Thanks, your flat just talked me into the varla pegasus, again. Appreciate it! 🎉😊
Only tested 1000 scooters in a year. I’ve only road on 4 lol. But thanks for the review. I ordered one not to long ago. Can’t wait to get it.
I'm enjoying your rides and talks :) Keep it up!
Hey man! I was considering this scooter and i was curious on an update on how it's holding up?? Is there anything better that was released recently?
Any updates on fixing the tubeless flat tire?
How do you deal with rain or puddles? This scooter does not have water resistance rating I don’t believe.

where can you order the new tires and are they expensive?
I’ve ordered from aliexpress and took a while to get here but they came eventually. Maybe like 2 months at most.
Yeah mine too went flat and I had to replace it, got new ones and now it is all good
How did you fix your flat on this model. Did you patch it or replace tire?

Oh I'll have to check out those hybrid tires, thanks for the tips 👍
The only complaint I have with the Mantis 8 is it’s small battery. On full
Power the battery just goes
The code doesn’t work anymore :’(

Can this scooter be secured or locked up with some type of bike chain in any way

He refuses to answer this because of cash flow
I will check your channel after it hits me 500 miles. You know what I am talking about.
I would like to take mine on a plane in checked luggage. Is there a carrying bag/case you can recommend?
Ooof, how many miles did you get before the flat?
Total odometer was around 100 miles
@@RK9Rides it looks like 100 must be the magic threshold...I got my rear flat too
They are back ordered I cant get one :(

that happened to my rear tire too, rode it back home, pumped it back up and its holding. I do constantly check tires pressure now
My scooter has a flat tire on the rear too. Not sure why. Trying to pump it back to see if I am lucky like you.

Armor dilloz sealant is really good
Can I pick your brain with a couple questions since you have ridden so many scooters. I’m in the market and I’m looking for some advice
Where can you buy parts at ?
You have to get parts through kaabo customer service i believe. I'll make a video on my process for fixing the flat and contacting kaabo
When I contacted Kaabousa to purchase replacement tires, they simply said to run a search for 8" mantis tires on Aliexpress. Might not arrive til February...
You easily get more than 30mph, or is it in KPH?, i only get 27 max so far. I am 125 Ibs. Would you mind to share your P settings?
The display is in Kph. I have entirely default p-settings
@@RK9Rides you got the flat tire fixed?

Shame on him - for faking a flat tire. But that's part of entertainment.
