Yes, you are right, some people will attempt forcing their voices or driving them into certain regions of their anatomy which would lead into a forced or overpressed phonation. What I mean with "adding" resonance to the voice is "waking" up different sensations that would color it therefore giving it different textures. I believe we have all suffered from driving the voice one way or another at some point. Good remark!
Very clear explanation but I worry about saying that the resonance is added to the voice.Might this not lead to people trying to feel forced resonance in the face the head etc ? I suffered from this for many years.
