  • I wish you all a happy Easter and resurrection Sunday! I also would dearly love you to know the real meaning of the Easter and the cross that Jesus died upon over 2000 years ago. He means so much to me! Many years ago, when I was 20 years of age, I encountered the Lord Jesus Christ for the first time. I was not aware of him, as all I knew was religion. In fact, I pretty much hated God, and thought ill of Christianity, and in all honesty, for no reason, had a problem with people who believed in the Son of God as the Saviour.
    Now however, many years later, I can only speak of his love and faithfulness, along with so many others around the world, who have found him to be a loving Saviour, who heals and restores, gives meaning and purpose, and most importantly, made a way of forgiveness, and reconciliation with God his father through his death on the cross which is celebrated this weekend.
    I sometimes speak of him to others, as you can hear in the audio clip below. He has done so much for me, more than words can possibly say!
    Isaiah 53 “He was pierced through for our transgressions,He was crushed for our iniquities;The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.
    John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
    I love this old hymn by Augustus Toplady (1763)
    Rock of Ages, cleft for me
    Let me hide myself in thee;
    Let the water and the blood,
    From thy riven side which flowed,
    Be of sin the double cure,
    Cleanse me from its guilt and power.
    Not the labors of my hands
    Can fulfil thy law's demands;
    Could my zeal no respite know,
    Could my tears for ever flow,
    All for sin could not atone;
    Thou must save, and thou alone.
    Nothing in my hand I bring,
    Simply to thy cross I cling;
    Naked, come to thee for dress,
    Helpless, look to thee for grace;
    Foul, I to the Fountain fly;
    Wash me, Saviour, or I die.
    While I draw this fleeting breath,
    When mine eyelids close in death,
    When I soar to worlds unknown,
    See thee on thy judgment throne,
    Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
    Let me hide myself in thee.
