Awesome video. Thanks, Dr. Sutterer for making this video series and Dr. Azam for sharing your honest opinion regarding the phases almost all medical students have to go through. Your biggest strength seems to be your curiosity and amazement at the variety of knowledge and care options each medical field has to offer, leading to confusion regarding career choice. Nevertheless, you made the best choice for yourself. Having a dreamy time I guess. Best of luck.

    Hey,
Wondering when you say internal medicine is more adult focus, I sas wondering age wise.. anytime from puberty+ or.. is under 18 still handled by family doctors even once the patient has reached sexual maturity? Asking as I have considered Endocrinology as a fellowship post internal medicine and wondered if it is still uncommon to have adolescents in this area of Internal Medicine specialization?
Thanks for any feedback or answers you could provide!

If I did internal medicine I will be a great fit...but I want to add other things as well, I will swing that way once I am done.

Part of me wants to be a doctor, but another part of me wants to help people to stay healthy so they’re more likely to avoid GOING to the doctor.
Personal trainer/nutritionist or doctor? 🤔 idk.

It’s sad that in the US, people need to consider this. That going into medicine isn’t considered a training that helps people stay healthy... I say go into medicine or public health and help change the system from sick care to HEALTHcare

Elle Graph I think that modern medicine CAN help people stay healthy, but is geared more towards regaining health once ill, or coping with symptoms.
My main point was that a lot of health issues can be avoided with good health habits.
