I’m glad to see something from you. The Holidays (well really the days leading up) are tough at a hotel also. I just had my 3 days off and I’m in a funk because I tend to ruminate when I am alone. Take care and I look forward to your updates. ❤
I dont think your anxiety around opening mail is unfounded. I was in a manic phase around the beginning of the covid lockdowns. I drained all my credit cards to the tune of £30'000 and blew the lot. When I get debt collector letters they always arrive either on a Friday, Saturday or Monday. Its like they are trying to ruin my weekend or beginning of the week to get me to contact them. Not playing the victim, i know the debt is mine and im being very irresponsible but idgaf about paying it back. They cant do nothing about it anyway because theres no bailiffs here 🙂 My credit is ruined for another few years then the debt gets wiped out and i can start building it again. Anyway my point is that i think places can try to intimidate you through the tone of the letter and the big red writing and when they want it to arrive at your house. I might start wiping my bulldogs butt with the letters after he takes a dump and returning them to the sender. 😄 Happy Holidays 🙂
I went from not opening my mail to not opening my mailbox 😂 I think I check it once every 2 weeks now, or less. Once opened I'm fine, but the days/weeks leading up to it, I just avoid and pretend I dont have a mailbox lol. Only mail I care about is delivered vinyl and they leave that at my doorstep. Everything else just doesn't seem important enough
😮💨❤️🩹🫂 Right there with you with the procrastination and overwhelm. Happy to see an update from you, though! Excited for you to get a break from work. Along with your mail anxiety, do you struggle to listen to voicemails? I feel like most people who are nervous about talking on the phone (as I’m sure most of us with AvPD are) just screen their calls and hope people leave voicemails, but then I get soooo nervous to even listen to them! I have to wait like a full day to be mentally prepared to hear what they say. 😅 It feels so awkward to me idk how to describe it lol. Anyway, hope you have a merry Christmas and a relaxing break!
Thank you. Ooh, it depends on mindset. I can wait days or weeks before listening to voicemail, just bc I'm too nervous to find out lol. But sometimes I'll immediately listen, I won't call back though, that's a bridge too far
