This game was so awesome and fun ! 🙂 I loved playing this game on PC when i was a young teenager 🙂, i had a blast playing the Marine , Predator and Alien campaign but my favorite was the Predator 😁. I loved using the optic camouflage , its technology and weapons , switching between the normal , thermal , cold and radioactive vision like in the movies 🙂. It was fun being the hunter 😁.

I have the most profound memory which was my father bought this for me and then was angry and lectured me because I enjoyed playing as the predator over anything else, he was actually worried about the predator being a bad influence 😂. I was like the alien is a worse influence and I was too scared to play the Marine campaign at the time.
21:17 One thing I always loved about this game was the dialogue the npcs would have that you could just listen in on. It helped make the setting feel more alive and helped with the world building, instead of just having all of them be silently standing around.

great game. it's the gold standard for what an AVP setting should be IMO. I wonder if the original xbox could have run a port of this game during it's lifecycle. the controls weren't too complicated, it could have worked with a gamepad I think.

Back when we had those glorious cutscenes or in game cutscenes. I miss that. Now we, for the most part, only have hand drawn semi-animated cutscenes. At least you can skip them.

Primal Hunt was a disaster. Short, uninspired, tension and horror replaced with fuckton of enemies. Although i liked the idea of playing with ancient predator.
@@helikos1 IP rights. The AvP franchise is owned by Fox Interactive. A license from them is needed to sell an AvP game. The original was made by rebellion, and the sequel (AvP2) by Monolith. It isn't clear how exactly the licensing worked there and Monolith got later acquired by Werner Bros. While the details can be hazy, it is obvious they did not retain the license after getting acquired. At the same time, nobody other than Monolith could actually sell the AvP2 game. While they don't own the franchise, they own the game itself. So the game is stuck in a position where nobody has the rights to sell it. It wasn't a commercial success, so it isn't on anyone's radar as a candidate for revival. The game is old and there are some technical issues on newer operating systems, so even if they managed to overcome the licensing issues, they would have to put in an investment which would take years to recover. Hence why nobody could be assed to do it.

The one thing that has bothered me about the AvP games is that they seem to forget about the Code of Honor that the Predators live by. In this game and in the 2010 game you kill a whole bunch of unarmed scientists, which violates the code. It would make sense if they established the protagonist as a Bad Blood, but they never did.
I played this just for my own personal entertainment. I understand that I wasnt playing as how a TRUE predator would act. However I'm glad the game let's me do this and not fail me or make me restart from an earlier checkpoint if I did any senseless kills. I also was alot younger when I recorded this and should have probably played more in character with Predator in particular. Sorry my play style sucked lol. I do hope your able to get a copy of this game and play yourself. It really is a fantastic AVP game.

In the 2010 game there are moments where you have to kill unarmed civilians in order to progress, which makes no sense to me.

All you folks saying about 'taking dishonourable kills' seem to forget that this is based in the universe of Aliens vs Predator, where the original book had an ENTIRE CLAN of Yautja slaughtering Oo-mins at Prosperity Wells, armed or otherwise.
Bit of a late reply, but wasn't that because the Clan Leader Dachande/Broken Knife was incapacitated, and the hunt was taken over by a load of frat boy Yautja who didn't know any better? IIRC Dachande didn't kill the unarmed, unless they were implanted.
There was even an Empress, so yeah quite a big hierarchy going on. They can actually get along with each other, because main goal of Xenos is to grow up more numbers and infest as much stuff as possible.

controling a predator doesnt look that easy as you see on here. run crouch jump 3 key combo makes me bungle too much while with constant spectrum changes, manually going to pick up heads were boring, constant cloakings and whackings were boring. marine campaign was really scary and good. but i couldnt finish the predator and alien campaigns
Hard just makes hit scan instant. To me that's artificial difficulty because it's more of a pain in the ass then challenging. That's my opinion anyways

My first favorite Campaign in Aliens vs Predator 2 before visiting Marine and Alien. Prince Predator is my 4th Favorite Predator.
