I found out that Clark Gregg took on the role of Agent Coulson, an original character made exclusively for the first Iron Man film, as a part of a favor from director Jon Faverau. Clark had no idea that accepting this role was going to completely change his life.
Marvelous work as always. You are killing it with these one shots. Honestly Coulson is my favorite MCU character. A regular guy, no super assassin skills, no iron suit, no hammer, etc. Just a guy who tries to protect and inspires others to be better people. Props to Clark Gregg for potraying this character almost non-stop for 12 years.
So who is up next? I know I suggested Ward already, but now I think you should do Mack next. Or maybe some of the supporting characters like Raina, Talbot, Radcliffe, or even Lincoln.
I think I'm going to do Fitz and Simmons first because they have been highly requested, then maybe Ward or Mack after that. Supporting characters would be cool to do as well, but I think I'm going to hold off until after we get the main cast done!
Phil Coulson is literally one of the best Marvel characters. That face when Fury tells him "exactly". It was at that moment that he knew, he is an Avenger. Amazing job brother, love it. This is by far the best montage I have ever seen.

It’s the what if scenario following if mainline MCU Furry decided to go forward with Project Tahiti. Where as in the current MCU canon, he decided to follow Coulson’s recommendation to not move forward with Tahiti.
Coulson was always a good man, but once he came back from the dead, he almost always valued one single person he trusted over every single ideal he once held. He still fought for SHIELD's cause, but not primarily FOR the agency. He picked a handful of people he would die for and unleashed hell on anyone who would dream of hurting them. And on every mission, he would always prioritise the PERSON he was dealing with. It wasn't always the most practical thing. Ward took advantage of it on more than one occasion. And his desperation to save Simmons when she was stranded on Maveth eventually allowed Hive to use SHIELD's knowledge of the portal to return Hive to Earth. Even Andrew, who was a psychologist, not an agent, viewed this behaviour as a gigantic tactical mistake. But at the same time, Coulson focusing on understand people and always prioritising people gave him an edge no one could match. He managed to manipulate almost every major Hydra leader post Winter Soldier into killing each other. And he was personally responsible for bringing Deathlok, Cal, Talbot, Rosalind Price, and Ghost Rider into fighting alongside SHIELD when each had MANY reasons to attack SHIELD instead, and all had means to devastate any opponent they faced (in different ways).
I see them break down a man, rebuilt, reconstructed, but all the hell yielded nothing to a hero. Any hell or past to future shall never yield ourselves. In peace in love, in honor for delight and life.
Actually, you missed a bit. I've recently been revisiting The West Wing. Clark Gregg plays an FBI agent, who is basically Phil Coulson with a different name.
I can't speak for anyone else but agents of shield was my favorite show. It was like Christmas each week that it was on I only wish Kevin feige saw it too. The longest running marvel TV show in the modern era

I chose not to include Captain Marvel because although it did show how he initially gained trust with Fury, I didn't feel that there were any big moments there that contributed to his character arc. Also the way he was revealed in Captain Marvel was a bit awkward for the start of this video, compared to the perfect name drop + S.H.I.E.L.D. intro in Iron Man.

Thanks for watching! I decided not to put in Captain Marvel because his intro there was not as good as in Iron Man, since we were expected to already know the character at that point. Also, even though CM showed how he became trusted with Fury, it didn't really contribute to his character growth so I didn't think it was necessary to include in this video! Chronologically I understand that CM should be first but this was just a creative liberty I took :)
