    Levi, congrats on the kid! Secondly, ya'll should test the wheels on SUPER rough terrain that line the streets in poor neighborhoods or in podunk towns. That's the true test to see how valid these (or any other) wheels are.

    It’s funny to see in the intro “a lot of companies are working on these new wheels” when it was literally just George Powell being a genius. They put Dragons on Powell-Peralta and modified the formula a little for the Bones brand.

    honestly if you want the ultimate crust wheel, its the 55mm super juice wheels. they are the most fun i have ever had on the streets... I would have different sets of wheels, than one wheel for everything. spitfires are still the gold standard for parks.... F4 99s.

    In skate and rollerskate history, double duro wheels were actually a trend especially for roller blades. Because they need softer wheels overall, they had the opposite: a harder core and softer outer. love the video!

    I used to ride bones stf and switched up to 101 formula fours. Tried the oj concentrate 101 hardlines and absolutely hated them went back to fourmula fours(classic shape 53mm) for a while but now I’ve been on slimeballs 99a and have never been happier with a set is wheels

    • @lewielew
      @lewielew ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ye slimeballs are sort of slept on ngl I have a set of 99a 93a conical ones and they go fast and feel good (currently on the 97A Spitfire Radial Full 56mm wheels which are sick sort of working on getting em to a 53mm atm) The OJ nomads I had once on the other hand of the same size as the slimeballs felt like I was taking sledge hammers to my ankles lol which is weird given they're supposed to be 2 duro's less then the spit's I'm on atm and even the 93A Dragon Wheels I had that were 53mm Felt wayyyy better in comparison not like a 2 duro diffrence but like a 8- 10 ish imo

    I still think that F4 at smooth skateparks and Dragons for rough street surfaces are the best option.

      I would say try some of spits 97A's on the Radial Full Natural 56mm ones they made trying to wear em to a 53mm - 52mm atm as that's a great size for me personally but they feel real nice on everything I have tested em on so far so would recommend if you don't wanna switch from spit's but try something a bit diffrent

      97 have never agreed with seriously rough surfaces, and I've ridden 97 for ages before going into F4 and lately dragons for street.
      Curious about this OJs and the X97 though.

    dont forget the price: about $57-60+
    oj nomads & elite 101a / powell dragons / bones x: about $40-45+
    this is almost 50% more so 2 sets of these instead of 3 sets of dragons/bones x

  • @aj1604
    @aj1604 ปีที่แล้ว +6

You're supposed to get the Dadbod after the kids are born because you're too tired to do much anything else after they're born. All kidding aside congrats and sleep while you can. 1st kid is real tiring but super awesome.

  • @KillSanchezVol.1
    @KillSanchezVol.1 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The thing with the dragons and X formulas is that those wheels let you ride extremely well over small pebbles, sand, rough terrains and the usual debris found over the skateparks. I don't think these wheels will perform as well as Powell's, but maybe they are not made for the same, and OJs are more a sort of suspension to soften impact and vibrations.

    Mini-logo 90A hybrid wheels are really good if you want softer wheels that are still hard enough to do tricks

  • @profo4544
    @profo4544 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Didnt autobahn do this first, they have wheels with softer inners and harder outers, like 97a inner with a 101 outer, and ones with a harder inside, and a softer outer. It seems other companys are doing that but instead of going from a 97 inner to a 101 outer there at like a 90 inner with a 99 outer or something. More drastic but autobahn dual duros were and the abx ones were doing this for a while its basically the same concept.

    Not hate here but it sounds like this is just another 101 wheel that feels confortable to ride.
    Side like a 101
    Grind like a 101
    Grips like a 101
    And sounds like a 101
    That was the thing with the dragons , they came up with something totally new, slides (for example) in rough concrete but has the grip and the feeling of a soft wheel and so on. The oj's looks like another 101 that feel good to ride.

      @@AJ-ec5dg What the difference between f4 and oj dual duro? I have ricta speedrings and powerflex 83/84b and all of them have super hard inner core and doesnt working as good as advertised. Again marketing and bullsh@t to customers with overprice now? 95a enough to absorb anything? Why not 93a or lower around bearings. What about making wheels with 3 cores

      ha! same, I bought the dragons, basically went right back to spitfires...makes me wary of the X or double duro, although I'm sure they are both fine

      @@michaelmunro2984 after skating the double duro today on street only, I would stick with F4’s. However, tomorrow is transition so I’m hoping that’s where they’ll shine.

    Anyone knows a wheel that is slick on concrete, not a polished concrete just normal concrete, I hate how spitfire f4 101a are slick on asphalts and are grip on concrete, I just need the opposite of that

      Autobahn makes the best duo durometers. I have been riding them exclusively for the last two years AND they come in 51s if you prefer smaller ones. They also have 53 and 55s. The very first duo durometers came out in the early 90s made by Paul Schmidt and they were called SS radials. Nobody has facts anymore but us OGs.
