Was at Fratton last night but know Adelaide so well. Have lots of family there. Greenwith, Golden Grove, Surrey Downs, Port Elliot, McLaren Vale, Harmsdorf...love straight back at you
I'm an exile in sunderland, but Pompey, you have given me the greatest night in my life since promotion to the premier league under arry. Just watching on ifollow gave me goosebumps and tears of absolute joy when that final whistle went! The hardest part of 11 years living in the northeast is being away from my amazing club, and I hope one day I will make it back. Thank you to the Eisners,Mousinho, and his coaching staff and especially the players, for one of the best seasons we pompey fans have experienced for a long time! I bloody love this club PUP PTID❤🔵⚪️🔵⚪️🍾
Well said my friend. I too am an exile. Away from my home town for 35 years now and that performance and this season has made me even more proud to say I am from Pompey. I hope JM stays and I hope the team does well in the Championship. PUP
Que felicidad verlos campeones de nuevo, un paso más para volver a la premier. Felicidades y arriba pompey, saludos de un hondureño en chile apoyando a la armada azul 💙
AND SO IT HAPPENED! 🙌 I might live 1350 miles away, I might've had the chance to support any other team in the world, but Pompey is the one and only team I fell in love with. Through all the ups and downs, club coming very close to not even existing, until eventually getting saved by its own fans, and now finally being on the way back where it used to be. Someone who reads and hears about Portsmouth's history and journey up until today can't feel anything else other than passion and inspiration. After watching every game from my home in Greece cheering the boys, countless nights where I stayed up late for those special under the lights games, I wouldn't change supporting this amazing football club for the world. The buzz I felt when Conor's header ended in the back of the net is a feeling that will live with me forever and will hardly ever be matched again, and it epitomizes Pompey throughout the entire season. Always finding a way. Thanks to the team, stuff and players for giving us fans a season to remember for a lifetime, and I feel proud to say - WE ARE LEAGUE ONE CHAMPIONS BABY 🔵🏆 Play up Pompey from Greece 💙🇬🇷
I just want to apologies to the club and especially John Mousinho and his staff. When i first heard that Mousinho was appointed manager before the start of last season i was frustrated and doubted everything. I thought we'd be spending another season in this same league. But, the club has done so well with the recruitment and backed John all the way. The stadium improvements have been really good. Great backing from the owners, and they've been very patient and not shyed away from being upfront and transparent with everything off the field. Congratulations to this amazing club and supporters. Thank you JM and to all the players. You've deserved your holidays so enjoy the time off and get back to training in the summer ready to get going again in the league that this club belongs. The championship. PUP 💙
To be fair we were all stunned to get a bloke completely new to management who most of us had never heard of, by god was it a shrewd move getting Mous in, top top bloke, love him PUP.
OMG what a night. We've had some fantastic nights under the lights at Fratton Park but this one is right up there as one of THE best. Shaugnessy take a bow my son. That will be the most important goal you'll ever score in a Pompey shirt. What a moment. To John Mousinho, the players, the recruitment team and most importantly the Eisners, thank you so much for bringing some joy back to our city and our football club. I was out there on the pitch after the final whistle last night, a moment I will never forget. Just a shame a small minority felt the need to run onto the pitch before the end of the game and spoil it for everyone else. Yes it's a big occasion and that winning goal from Shaugnessy was a moment to celebrate, but come on guys, please just wait until the game has ended before invading the pitch. Scenes like what we saw after that goal can have huge consequences for our club which we do not need after celebrating what's been a phenomenal season. Come on, bit of common sense guys.
I was on the tube in London when we were down 2-1, the network is terribly bad but at certain stations there is 4G network. When I managed to get the stream up on iFollow Bishop was standing on the penalty spot. Managed to witness the magical moments of both goals and also the mayhem when the final whistle blew. I’ll never forget that journey home. PUP Champions 🎉
Lost count of how many times I've watched the Shaughnessy header. When it goes in, Christian Saydee runs the other way and Paddy Lane flaps like a seagull about to take off🤣😂 Brilliant stuff of Legends and so proud of what everyone at the club has achieved 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Fantastic!! I was there -Pompey gave us a nervy time (wouldn't be Pompey if they didn't eh!!) but class won through in the end. Onwards and upwards. Well done lads.
Thanks for your message. I was at Wembley when we beat you in the EFL Trophy final in 2019. What I remember from the day - apart from the win! - was the camerarderie on Wembley Way after the game. Fans from both teams chatting, joking and drinking together. Given the world we live in filled with too much hate that was great to see. Look forward to playing you next season...😉
Yeah! Well done boys, didn’t think we’d even make the playoffs at the start of the season, let alone win the league, looking forward to next season PUP 💙
Que cena incrível... Já vi o meu Portsmouth ganhar a FA Cup, já os vi jogar a Taça UEFA/ UEL, vi o downfall e agora consegui vê-los a ganhar 2 campeonatos, tudo em menos de 20 anos
I just modded my FIFA 16 and chose Portsmouth in career mode. Man, I loved the team and I shocked when I see Fratton Park is actually in the game. Here's the players I like; Yengi, Bishop, Lang, Scully, Raggett, Rafferty, Shaughnessy, Devlin, Moxon, Sparkes. Players I like less (totally because of the game); Swanson, Ogilvie, Marlon Pack (He said sell me if you want to keep me as substitute). I won the league one and Barnsley was the 2nd. This was the first time I saw my players in real life. And wow. They're as good as in the game. 😂 I also won Carabao and BSM cups and bought Gabriel Sara from Norwich for 6.5m€. I happy to see Portsmouth win the league in real life. I hope they win the Championship as well because I will too. 🎉🎉
Great to see we have supporters in many countries. And they weren't disappointed last night. It's all been said. But the Board deserve great credit for choosing JM as manager given his relative lack of experinence. But maybe that helped as there were no massive expectations on his shoulders. Nevertheless he and the players have excelled. I hope he continues with his honest post match analysis next season and can at least stabalise our position in the Championship. Would be great to be back in the PL but not if it bankrupts the club as that would mean a slippery decline due to administration - points deductions - which has dogged the club for 12 years. PUP - last night was Soooo special.😄😃
Many congratulations from a Ipswich fan.League one is a bugger to get out of.Hope were not playing you next season im sure you understand why I say that 😊😊
Well, congrats I guess we won’t be playing you in the league. Yeah it was awful to get out this season, but next season will be horrendous. Clearly 10 teams who could easily be in the top 2 and another 4 who could reasonably challenge for play offs.
@@jasonparfitt4299 Hey, worst case scenario you see world class football for a whole season but go down on an embarrassing number of points and get 3 years of insanely high parachute payments securing your championship status for the foreseeable future.
How did mousinho get in the job? Seems surprising that the board and owners went with a manager without any experience and connection to the club. Or am I missing something?
He was a player/coavh and also He was on the board of the EFL players representatives before he got the job. He was well respected and Pompey were the ones to put their trust in him. Pretty sure he played for Martin Allen at one point but don't quote me on that part.
Well we tried the experience route with Jackett and Cowley that didn't work too well. Appointing JM was a stroke of genius and credit to all those involved for making that decision
He applied and they were polite enough to give him an interview. He knocked them out, so they gave him another one. Each time they met him he impressed them more, until they were left thinking he was simply the best candidate.
So happy to see Kusini helping Pompey back to the Championship, love from Adelaide, Australia! 🇦🇺
