    I normally try to be on time for things, especially to work or when I have to meet up with someone. The punctuality is also a form of respect.
    If I have to go to the airport, instead, and I ask my father for a lift, I usually arrive in time not only to have some coffee but even to build the plane that I have to take 🤦‍♂️😅

    I don't know if it is also true for native English speakers, being an Asian learning English, I have to say the usage of preposition is the most difficult part of all. Things like rule of law, rule by law, contract of service and contract for service, their meanings could very opposite with just a very subtle difference.

    • @WoodwardEnglish
      @WoodwardEnglish  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't worry, it is difficult for everyone learning English. Native speakers just learn these rules by hearing/seeing these words so often many many times every day in a natural way. However native speakers normally won't be able to explain the rules (unless they're teachers or like learning languages) because they have learned the rules "by instinct" and what feels or sounds natural.
      And yes, there are SO MANY rules and exceptions with prepositions in English. Personally, I wouldn't have to learn them as a non-native speaker.
      Also prepositions are often difficult to learn in other languages even for me (and I love everything to do with languages).

      Ill and sick = not in good health. Ill is more formal than sick.
      We can use sick before a noun but we don’t normally use ill before a noun.

    • @WoodwardEnglish
      @WoodwardEnglish  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great question.
      I scheduled the meeting at 10 a.m.
      = 10 a.m. was the time when I scheduled the meeting.
      I scheduled the meeting FOR 10 a.m.
      = That is the planned time for the meeting. Maybe the day before (at 4 p.m.) I told everyone at work.... "Tomorrow we have at meeting at 10 a.m." ... I scheduled it at 4 p.m (that is the time when I planned the time for the meeting)
      It is because of the verb TO SCHEDULE.
