  • 101 Irregular Verbs in the Past Tense in English with example sentences.
    You will hear a verb in its base form (infinitive without "TO" e.g. find, write) and then the past tense form of this verb (e.g. found, wrote).
    Next you will hear an example sentence using this irregular verb in the past tense. There is a cartoon image to accompany the sentence to help with understanding.
    The irregular verbs that appear in this video are:
    Be, become, begin, bend, bet, bite, bleed, blow, break, bring, build, buy, catch, choose, come, cost, cut, deal, dig, do, draw, drink, drive, eat, fall, feed, feel, fight, find, fly, forget, forgive, freeze, get, give, go, grow, hang, have, hear, hide, hit, hold, hurt, keep, know, lead, leave, lend, let, light, lose, make, mean, meet, pay, put, quit, read, ride, ring, rise, run, say, see, sell, send, set, shake, shine, shoot, shut, sing, sink, sit, sleep, slide, speak, speed, spend, spin, spread, stand, steal, stick, sting, strike, sweep, swim, swing, take, teach, tear, tell, think, throw, understand, wake, wear, win, write.

    I am grateful that you didn’t include the past perfect participle because it is too much and confusing for adults beginning ESL. This is perfect. Is there any way we can get the charts provided at the end of many of your u tube lesions?

    • @WoodwardEnglish
      @WoodwardEnglish  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks Carol.
      You are welcome to use the video in your classroom if you are allowed. You can put in on mute so you can explain the lesson (without hearing my voice or accent) too.
      For the charts, sometimes there is a link to a lesson in the description or at the end of a video. The lessons usually appear on one of my three websites: www.grammar.cl - www.vocabulary.cl - www.woodwardenglish.com
      In those lessons the chart usually appears.
      For teacher resources to use in class including more than just the charts (I do different versions), see what is available here: www.woodwardenglish.com/shop/
      or on TPT (Teachers Pay Teachers)
      For example I have all 101 of these irregular verb charts (that can be easily used in the classroom) available here:
      www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/101-Irregular-Verbs-Past-Tense-in-English-Flash-Cards-Charts-4459487
      I hope that helps.

Present/past/participle should be learned all at the same time IMHO... it is then ingrained into your brain! Speak/spoke/spoken etc...
