  • The Hoyt Invicta 37 SVX has an axle-to-axle length of 37 1/4”, brace height of 7” and IBO rated speed of 330 fps.
    As discussed in a prior video, the draw cycle in the Invicta is quite smooth with little to no dump into the valley. But it is a touch on the aggressive side, which is to be expected with the SVX cams.
    It’s been an interesting adventure with me and the Invicta so far this year, as this bow has given me more 10s than any other bow, but I’ve had more bad shots with at as well. To put it another way, when I do everything I’m supposed to do, this is an absolute tack driver. But when some part of my form or execution is off, some punishment is doled out in the way of 8s and 7s.
    A pleasant surprise for me with the Invicta 37 was the speed. With a 350-grain Gold Tip Platinum Pierce arrow and the draw length set at 30 and 1/8 inches and the draw weight at 60 pounds, I saw an average speed of 298 feet per second. That tells this would make a great unknown 3D bow, as speed is easy to come by.
    The bottom line is that the Hoyt Invicta 37 with SVX cams has proven to be a sensational shooter for me when I do my job. It’s not the most forgiving bow when my form isn’t on point, but that problem is tough to blame on anybody but me.

    New tournament rules. shoot a 450 round and select the best 30 arrows for scoring a 300 round. Count me in. Nice review, thanks.

    tried the svx cam some time before, me personally, i cant use it. those cams would've eat me alive at full draw, let off feels so aggressive the arrow keeps popping out of the rest, but tried the x3 cam from the prevail and an it was good!!! i've heard the x3 and dcx cams feels similar. definitely going for the dcx cams for an Invicta

    Hands down the most accurate bow I've ever shot. Loved the Prevail 37 SVX but this is definitely a step up. I've owned TRX38, PerformX 3D, Supra Focus XL, and Prevails. None hold like the Invicta and my scores have skyrocketed due to it.

    If you can get your hands on one of the new MArtin ADXs that’s be awesome, I’ve been trying to find a review on one.

      I asked Martin for test bows this year, but did not get a response. But the manufacturers get asked for bows all the time. They can’t say yes to everyone.

    Hey I'm looking into getting an Invicta. I shot a Mathews TRX7 which I loved and really got the hang of. Shot an Invicta 40 with the svx cams in my club but to me it feels very rough and as though it wants to rip my arm off. Also feels a lot heavier to draw than the TRX. So that's something that's kind of stopping me from buying one. Does this get better as you get used to it ? My concern is that in time it will still feel very taxing and unpleasant to shoot. Any advice you couls give would be very much appreciated !

      I love the Invicta with SVX, but if you don’t then I’d avoid it. There’s no point in swapping out a bow you like with one that may not be a good fit. Or you can try one with Hoyt’s DCX cams, which is not as aggressive.

    That's interesting about how you feel it punished you. Do you torque tune your bows? I'm wondering if the modular grips introduce some additional variable there...

      MyFriendsAreElectric I’ve shot that grip on the Prevail with no issues. Generally I found that when my form/execution was off a little, the misses were bigger than with other bows. But it produced more good shots overall, so scores were basically the same. More 10s and more 8s/7s - way fewer 9s

      That's so weird! Thanks for taking the time to expand on that a little :)

      @@ArcheryTalkVideo maybe the SVX cam is too aggressive for you. Did you try the DCX cam?

    • @justinvzu01
      @justinvzu01 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ultimatejay That's exactly the problem. If you shoot really agressive cams, mistakes get really big. Agressive cams always improve groups if you do your part, but if you don't do your part, it'll be worse than the same shot with a calm cam.

    nice video. Question what is the difference btw the SVX and DCX cams?

    • @ArcheryTalkVideo
      @ArcheryTalkVideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The SVX cams are basically a newer version of the old spiral cams, while the DCX cams are more like the older GTX cams. The SVX cams are faster, but a bit more aggressive. Those are the ones the majority of the Hoyt pros shoot. The DCX cams are smoother and easier to draw/let down.

      @@can5projects563 Happy to help. I wouldn't be surprised if Hoyt came out with a new cam system/target bow late in 2022. They have switched to a binary cam for their hunting bows, so it would make sense to follow suit with their target bows.
