The title says 37 DCX, but it seems that you're reviewing the 37 SVX, based on the "no valley" feel. The SVX cam also only has a 65% let off vs 75% for the DCX. I shoot the 37 DCX and there is plenty valley.
Invicta is super!! I have a just 4day's and I jump from Hoyt Defiant turbo / 60 lbs to Invicta 60 lbs and is very izzy to schut with SVX cams ..for me is a perfect bow, you reviews help allot to choose a bow!! Thx!!
Just a quick correction/update regarding the Pro Force though you did hit the nail with it being aimed more at 3D archery. That bow is a completely different family of Hoyt bows compared to the Invicta. In '15 Hoyt got the idea to put their flagship hunting hardware on their flagship target riser for their Parallel Limb Target Bow. 10-12 years ago and beyond there wasn't much difference between the limbs and cams on Hoyt's hunting line and target line. Around '10 or so that started to change and cams/limbs became exclusive to their respective fields. It started mid in '15 with the Pro Comp which just utilized the Z5 cams from the hunting line. However in starting in '16 with the HyperEdge they just used the riser only and limbs, pockets, ZT Roller, string stop and cams were from the Defiant. In '18 the bow you mentioned, the Pro Force, replaced the HyperEdge but carried on the same idea with it using all the same parts from the RX-1. It's worth noting the Pro Force does use a 1" longer limb than the RX-1 but is still a Quad-Flex. I'll also point out that despite the Pro Force being made for the '18, '19 and '20 years, it did not receive the upgraded ZT cams for each corresponding year like the hunting line did. Also on on your customer's Poduim, I think someone may have done some cam swapping to a '14 or older Spiral X cam from a Pro Comp elite which indeed did not have the ability to adjust the draw length. Understandable since I think the Spiral X had been a favorite going on 5 years at that point. However in '15 they switched to the updated Spiral Pro cam for the Podium which had interchangeable DL modules. I say updated because there was indeed an original Spiral Pro cam that predated the Spiral X that did not have interchangeable modules but those were in the mid-late 00s. I'm not trying to berate Steven here, it's much more difficult to cover so many details of bows when your shop is the size of his. Much easier when you only deal with a couple manufactures though that still doesn't explain why that useless Hoyt info got burned into my brain. The best comparison for the Invicta would be the Previal, followed by the Podium and then the Pro Comp Elite. Many would argue the riser is still basically the same as the Pro Comp 8 years later. It remains to be seen if this will be the last iteration of that riser since if they follow what they've done since the turn of the century, that riser is close if not at end life.
He is shooting the DCX in this video, I don't want to be skeptical, but it sounds like he's shooting the SVX when he describes the drawcycle and speed. The DCX is incredibly easy to draw. I really want to believe him, but at Europe Archery I hear very contradicting opinions from most shooters. The fact he's so incredibly wrong about this bow is just stunning.
@@justinvzu01 Lol bro I'm over at Europe Archery rn(website) looking at the Invictas n came here to see the difference between the cams. What a funny coincidence to see ur comment.
Thanks for reviewing this bow. I am a 28" draw length so that is the cam size on a 37" bow that I would buy. Very interested on your opinion of the cam. I had a Podium X 37 with the GTX cam and sold it because it was too slow, (I only shoot at 50lb, dodgy shoulder). Don't like the whole no valley, spiral/ SVX cam, style of shooting. I guess Hoyt had to find the extra speed from somewhere for this new cam, but on your review I will give that draw cycle a miss.
Steven. Hoyt have for years make target bows with parallel limbs with their hunting cams to accompany their forward facing, more common target bows. These bows are 2 different line ups. Thanks
so, tried the invicta tdy and my oh my it was smooth; the valley hits in the last few two or three inches of the whole draw cycle. When you let it down, it is smooth and well controlled, the hold in this bow without stabilizers on can mimic the hold of a pse stinger extreme with a full on set-up stabilizers ... would i recommend this bow? yes! especially for shooters that is NOT recreational.
I’m looking forward to see what you think of the new elites I’m my opinion they have really stepped up their game with their cam and bow tuning. I’m impressed with them but you might not be we all like different stuff.
Based on the draw cycle described remembers me the Hoyt Procom with spiral cams (that one at #50 felt heavier than the Xpression and the Perform X at #60. One question: which axle to axle bow would you recomend to a 5.9 feet (1.8 m) tall man? I'm trying to choose between a Evo NXT 35 LD and a Supra Focus XL LD (recreational shooting and some target and 3D tournaments, but nothing serious, just enjoying amateur archery!). I like more the design/deadness and colors available with the Nxt 35 but some people in my club advised me that based on my height I should get a 40" bow for precission archery. Based on your experience, what would yo do? I'm afraid of choosing a bow which I'm not quite sure it will provide me more joy, despite having "better stats" on paper.
Still using old tech draws...its crap! My draw length changes over an inch from index to back tension.. old school crap cam. Still riser bridge that gets in the way for drop always. Do you still have to tune with stops out if time to make it shoot right? It's the same thing over and over. A plus is they look good. Over priced
I worked as a manufacture manager for Hoyt. They haven't because a couple companies, PSE in particular, have engineered a fiberglass that is WAY more durable than other manufacturers with laminate limbs. The PSE limbs cycled over 1 million cycles, and when the engineers pulled it off the machine, they still looked new. The Pres of Hoyt always joked that he'd buy anyone a steak dinner that could figure out how to make limbs like that.
Hoyt have always achieved a high retail price point for their bows, so the $2.5K tag on the Invicta should be no surprise, & not the only 2020 model around that mark. Yes, this bow does have a few differences from the previous Hoyt Prevail flagship target bow, but that typical Hoyt look & "feel" continues, along with that hybrid cam that most other manufacturers have now moved on from. Some Hoyt fans will buy a new model simply for the brand name & their top target Pro archers will do well with the Invicta, as they have with past models. Whether this new model offers enough to prevent their faithful from straying, or entice buyers from other brands compared to other interesting 2020 target offerings, let's see.
Tbh I like to shoot the prevail over the invicta... you can feel if you make consitent shots with the prevail i Guess? Idk it just feels like it. Dont get mad
I know, top level archers like Mike Schlösser does amazing things with Hoyt compound bows. Btw. they get them for free and he keeps every bow, he won a championship with in his basement. Had a Hoyt compound too, but I never felt comfortable with it. Hard to tune perfectly, no stable backwall and the fixed drawing length was not for me... SOLD it.
You would think that you would have a bit better information about the bows before you started the video. It was obvious from the very start that he was not a Hoyt fan, at least it was obvious to me.
All the facts are wrong. Wrong cam wrong speed the DCX is the softer cam. Seems odd your struggling as I’ve shot it and it’s soft. The svx is the harsh one...?
@@olehemlock Or at least definitely out of time. I've never seen any bow but a select few Mathews pull out of the box timed and tuned. The way he observes the stiff draw is tell tale out of time on the newer '18+ Hoyts.
@@jmike8934 lot wrong with this video, podium does not have spiral x cams. Podium has spiral pro with mods. The podium he shows here in this video has had the cams changed out. If you watch a lot of Steve’s videos you will notice he favors PSE and has some disdain for Hoyt, which is ok. Just about everybody has their favorite bow company.
He literally explained the grip and how you can change it and how they come with the bow. What else do you want him to say about it? Where they're made exactly and what date they were made on?
ArcherBen1305 wrong! The new grip on this bow has 6 plates that can be changed! Two for each angle, however one will be fatter and the throat of the grip to change draw length by an 8th!!! And what about the dates I don’t get you?

Thanks for the review. Personally I think that Invicta is the most boring bow I've seen in years. Me and other folks from same club had some hopes that Hoyt will finally introduce something new, but it's the same bloody bow they've manufacturing for years with slight variations.
Overrated , always have been, Hoyt spends more money on advertising than all other bow companies combined,, my win-win dragonfly/ and wiawas recurves have seen heaps of them off,, its the archer, you cant buy accuracy.

I've shot many bows and ironic i go back to my dominator.... just love it .... Nice review Steven ....as always :)
That's what I was thinking, every year Hoyt gets closer to PSE designs.
Owned many bows as well, but my favorite of all time is my old Supra Max ME. Fast, accurate, smooth, just a bit ugly 😂
