yes it's crazy the other day car edge called to ask for a 2022 Kia...an EV Kia which are unsellable and depreciate 50% day1 add to this it's already 2 years old they wanted at least MSRP
It's considered new if its never been registered/titled for up to 2 years of the build date. They will more than likely need to be marked down to sell, but dealerships aren't required to do so.
The purple charger just parked in the dirt made me laugh. They couldn’t as least clean it up & put it inside of their showroom? Nope, they’d rather have it sitting outside for 300+ days. What a shame….
I consider myself fortunate, '23 Shakedown edition for $57,000 (used with 600 miles) and '23 Hellcat (narrow body, F8 Green, ACC, NAV, Laguna leather, sunroof, etc., for less than $74,000; 13 miles when I drove it off the lot. $12,000 below MSRP. Great dealership in KY, Dan Cummins; ask for Murdoch and he'll hook you up. Almost traded the Shakedown on the Hellcat but love driving it so much I kept it. Keep calling out them out, hopefully you'll keep someone from taking the bait.
Dealers are gonna be buried in EVs, just cause they build them doesn’t mean people will buy them. And imagine trying to sell a Hemi owner on upgrading to a new EV model…
This dealership will NEVER sell those vehicles at those prices. They are beyond absurd. Any dealership that is sitting on a new vehicle for 365 days on the lot and they still have it marked up above sticker is not living in reality. The only logical conclusion one could draw is they don't care if sell it. Which means to me that this particular dealership is probably one in a chain of dealerships that the principle owns-and they a very profitable somewhere else. Because if you have cars that have been sitting on the lot for 450 days and 368 days respectively and your still asking above sticker-it just doesn't make sense.
It is funny they say you have to pay more for a V8 car because it is the last ones THEY are making when Ford is going ahead with the V8 for the foreseeable future.
Yes I like these types of videos. But also like the ones covering the manufacturer and people who need help. Thanks for all the efforts of going to dealerships!
You said Mellenials can’t drive stick but I was born in 87 and I’ve been driving manual since I was 10 on a kubota tractor. I’ve owned more manuals than autos but I also hate that that generation supposedly started in the mid 80’s. I don’t claim it. I swear it’s 90’s and up, I grew up and live more old school. There’s like a generational line right there, arguably the first couple of years of the 90’s is when it truly started
If you can't get 100k miles out of you aren't doing maintenance properly and bearing the shít out of it. I have a 96 ram that's been in the family since new, 236000 miles and counting. Only issues I ever had was idiot shops screwing things up. They can't even do an alignment correctly these days
There’s already a lot of the Dodges that are 4-5 years old that have 200k+ miles on them and still run like new so I’m afraid your comment won’t hold water
There is something that people may not realize that is at stake here. This guy is one of the few who is showing the failures of moral and ethics around dealerships in the US. This whole idea of just letting them put markups on top of MSRP or charge a thousand dollars for a set of mats and nitrogen filled tires. Then, you maybe think it is ok. But it is not ok for the majority of Americans who want to buy cars at a fair price. When I say that, it is the MSRP price. This is because it is the expected fair price set by the industry, which includes profit for the manufacturer AND dealership. If you believe that dealerships have the right to charge wherever they want. Then you should understand that the same rights and freedom that a dealership has, the consumers have to step into a dealership and show what is being practiced. Just letting the dealership add markup and make it a "hidden" practice, it is just unethical and immoral. And if people get mad be dealerships are practicing markups on top of MSRP. It is because the consumer doesn't want that. Let the freedom work on both ways. Be the consumer, showing the practices in the same way as a dealership can charge markups on top of MSRP cars.
If anyone buys a vehicle sitting on a lot for a year or more get it checked out. Check out some videos of what happens to today's fuels after it's been sitting for 6 months or longer. Older gasoline up to the 90's used to turn to varnish. Today's fuels turn to a type of hard crystally gunk that will destroy a fuel system.
We should also suspect the oil and filter as being bad after a year, and change both immediately. That's an add-on that a dealership should put on the stickers of these unwanted cars.
Deduct the lot rot from sitting for so long and it should be below msrp. Sad that some of this dealers still live in fantasy land. Especially since dodge/ chrysler are on the verge of collapse.
You asked what we think of the Super Bee Charger. (Overall I like the car and color) 1) DIslike 4 door cars ( how many people would love to have a 1969 Superbee in 4 door version vs 2 door?, lol, I think people like the current one because they had no other options and were just happy to get the hemi engine regardless of what car it was in. Sure there could be some people out there who really prefer 4 door performance cars). 2) Color nice 3) Stubby looking side stripes are not appealing. 4) Superbee Badge is cool 5) Dislike all black on the rims 5) Prices are ridiculous (base models now selling in the 25k range on lots, for 75 k more, you get an engine, some badges and some drag radials?) The sales volume of these would have been much higher had they made more and not price gouged. 2 6) Not a fan of the current charger bodystyle. Much prefer classic SuperBees of late 60s.
After watching the whole video, it should be illegal and capped on what dealers can charge. It should be a crime. Even without the markups, those prices are OUT of control. I am from TN though and things are a bit cheaper...but not by much.

Wait six months because for the next two quarters, Stellantis sales are likely to be close to ZERO. Why buy a Stellantis product when a good probability exists that the warranty won't exist in a year or two. Revenues close to ZERO are a BIG problem. Most likely a CJDR dealer can't drop their prices because they would have to realize a loss. WAIT until either the floorplan companies repo dealers' cars or if you have a dealers license buy them at the auction. Sooner or later, CJDR dealers are going to be terminating in mass their franchises. The units are likely to be sold off as is with a HUGE discount.
Great stuff Brad, if these sales people are going to spew this BS and you teach them a thing or two, it's on the job training. You are so much nicer to them then I am

Sad to see how American car companies wrecked themselves. I always thought they should've had a low price 4-Cylinder Charger and Challenger going for $19999. Would've been the hottest thing..
I absolutely love the superbee! My dream spec too. Wish they would stop smoking rocks and come back to reality on the prices. That superbee is a 60,000$ car max.
Chrysler products, Stellantis? Good luck. If you live in a warm climate, maybe it won't start rusting as fast. There's a reason why Consumer Reports rates most of their products as good to avoid with the problems they have. Who has the money to pay even 50,000 for a car? The manufacturers' greed is finally catching up with them.
People forget that MSRP stands for “Suggested” manufacturer’s retail price. The “suggested” price in this case is absurd based on all events related to Dodge’s fall from grace since the pandemic. The MSRP should be downgraded 10-15% and THEN we start with 10-20% markdowns.
your "why doesn't the "last model" matter for tradeins" hit me in the gut that's my case I have a limited edition 150 cars in the country of a car not made anymore and they offer me laughable trade-in money on the other hand they want MSRP and more for a new car when their lot is full of them, I almost signed due to fomo but dealer delayed until he found the perfect buyer and make max profit and now I wisened up
10:22 They park a "$100,000" car on the dirt, not a truck, but this car. That makes me want to race over there to buy it, and they had to drive over a curb to get it into the planter.
You treated that salesman perfect. I have NO problem with asking the right questions. If they want to be in that line of work. They should expect serious questions. Just my thoughts, Ron
My belief is these dealerships are sticking to markups because they are hoping to get the floorplan repossessed. They have no choice but to go this route. It’s smarter than selling at a loss. They know they won’t sell at auction and Stellantis will end up having to buy the cars back from the bank otherwise they risk none of there cars ever getting financed in the future.
If a dealer has a new car in stock for 1yr , the dealer has to write a check to the bank to pay the car off (floor plan). The bank owns the new cars. In some state when the dealer has to pay the car off it is considered used ........

The various dealers I've visited all have worthless additions that raise the price thousands of dollars. Silly add-ons include "security" systems, "paint protection film," and plastic "floor mats" that have a price tag like the plush carpeting in some much nicer cars. Why, if they want to do add-ons, won't these dealers add an upgraded exhaust system, paint striping or wrap, tinted glass to replace the regular windows, exterior LED lighting, winter tires and installation services, rear seat entertainment systems, refrigerators, tables, upgraded rear seats with recliner, or maybe a ski or bicycle rack? Why is it only silly stuff like a $995 software application for a Smartphone? Surely they could try to sell us things that we might actually want to buy, and mark up the prices as usual. Whenever I see one of those add-on stickers at a dealership, I walk away from that car!
You just have to stay like 4-8yrs behind the market.. you buy nice low mileage used older man cars that are trade ins or private sales.. Got my first 2016 HC for $47k bucks, then got a redeye WB for $61k.. There is no reason to buy a brand new one, granted you must be careful in who you buy from, and must not do it in a city, it needs to be the suburbs.. But there is no reason to have ever bought a Dodge Hellcat for $100k and much more.. They aren't that nice.. They are fun, but you get used to the power quickly and it just feels like regular traffic in less than 6months..
I sold in 2015 when the Hellcats came out. The desk manager is beside himself on those decisions as well and it was crazy there was 15,000 deposits just to even discuss the sale of the car. GMs were the issue as well. It's a gross amount of greed disguised as "fair market prices".
If you’re buying a car, you only need to speak to the salesman. That’s his job, not the general manager. Having a salesman say that he needs to see his manager, is sign one they are dishonest. Speaking of what car you drive to a dealer, I had ordered my new Challenger, and then wrecked my van. So I was without wheels and rented a car. Driving into a used car dealer in a brand new car got the salesman excited. Told it was a rental, I wrecked my van. He wasn’t as happy but gave me a great deal. I didn’t tell him that I had a new car on order.
I work at a CDJR dealership in North Florida and we have all sorts of 5.7 Chargers for under 40k sticker, I think around 38k and under maybe 35k in some cases that just don't move whatsoever from our lot
I see your point of view but I also see your “being light” with the help essentially…as being passive aggressive. I dunno maybe I was raised differently where we go right at a problem to the boss. It’s the Chicago in me that doesn’t attack the sales guy but I agree with your opinion of it as well as them being the first line. I also wanna cross the first line and crush the problem at its source.
My favorite color is the Plum Crazy Purple, and that Super bee looks sweet. Those markups are insane especially what they are worth now being they are 23's. They will never get financing at those prices and all the cash buyers have already bought or the inventory wouldn't be lot rot that long. Hellcats have been made since 2015 so mass produced never made again will be a great investment is just Ludacris. Another great video, keep them coming!
Man, I thought these prices for scats and hellcats would drop by now but guess not. The dodge dealer in the Monrovia area are still charging a high mark up for there chargers and challengers. Last year back in October, the dealer was charging a mark up of $15k on a 2023 dodge charger GT. Basically paying RT/ scatpack price for a V6 charger.
I enjoy your content. I also love the plum crazy Super Bee. It reminds me of the Charger my dad had as a kid growing up. I do think the dealer markups are insane. I also would think twice about a car that has been sitting for a year or more. I would imagine the likelihood for issues is higher with seals, etc. All that aside, we may feel the dealer pricing is insane but they can price vehicles as they like. It seems maybe they’re playing the long game and expect these cars to hold if not increase in value over time. The used market is flooded with hellcats and there are some awesome deals if you’re good with a used car. Thank you for the video

Some them dealers need to go out of business the way they treated their customers all those ridiculous mark ups
All that crap here in Vegas is well BELOW sticker.
Same in the ATL metro. What I've seen is averaging 5-6K below.
Not Towbin Dodge. They told me we sell below invoice and all the vehicles come with Mandatory add-ons. I was told that these cannot be removed as the come with them from Dodge. I said show me proof on the equipment list or on the Monroney label. Crickets. After a bit he said our prices is way below invoice and employee pricing. I walked away. So does not apply to Towbin Dodge.
@@joebrown9106just looked at their website. they got a 2018 hellcat charger listed/advertised for $40k. has to be a scam
Wow the price of the super bee is ridiculous. Honeybee, bumblebee, or super bee one hundred thousand dollars is insulting. At the end of the day when you pop that hood it’s a scat. Please don’t get me wrong I love scats. I have one myself, but I’m blown away that these dealerships with these lots that are standing room only are still asking these prices.? 🤦🏿♂️
Those were 2023s. There are no new 2023s. They deprecated the same as if you drove them. Especially since the 2024s are same thing. They are doing to to themselves
yes it's crazy the other day car edge called to ask for a 2022 Kia...an EV Kia which are unsellable and depreciate 50% day1 add to this it's already 2 years old they wanted at least MSRP
That super bee plum crazy with drag tirrs would smoke your focus rs fanboi
@@poker_18rs92 yeah there parking em in places like that long term to make em easier to steal. At least then they get insurance pay out on em.
@@greggiroux9432 ur prob right plus they dont care if the undercoat rusts .. not their car
I like your dealership visit videos. I like how your calling these guys out. They need to be.
You can get a supercar for how much they want these mark up cars
These people are not your friends. Assume it's a hostile encounter. Don't act nasty toward them. Proceed with caution.
After all is said and done. It’s a dodge. You’ll be lucky to get 100k miles out of it. They should be 50k
@@ManiacalManiac exactly people treat their cars like rentals and expect it to last preventative maintenance is key 🔑 for any performance vehicle
@@1982MCI my point is there’s not a dodge on the market worth 100k. and they are definitely not known for their quality of manufacturing.
My challenger almost has 200k miles on it
Rot lot should be the biggest concern here.
I love the Superbee, but it stickers are too much especially in white.. And if you got caught in the rain with that rubber your in trouble..
Your doing him a favor by giving him some experience on how to interact with different people. Good stuff!
You asked what we think of the Super Bee Charger. (Overall I like the car and color)
1) DIslike 4 door cars ( how many people would love to have a 1969 Superbee in 4 door version vs 2 door?, lol, I think people like the current one because they had no other options and were just happy to get the hemi engine regardless of what car it was in. Sure there could be some people out there who really prefer 4 door performance cars).
2) Color nice
3) Stubby looking side stripes are not appealing.
4) Superbee Badge is cool 5) Dislike all black on the rims
5) Prices are ridiculous (base models now selling in the 25k range on lots, for 75 k more, you get an engine, some badges and some drag radials?) The sales volume of these would have been much higher had they made more and not price gouged. 2
6) Not a fan of the current charger bodystyle. Much prefer classic SuperBees of late 60s.
LOL, the digital license plate company just lost their contract with CA - they're giving you a paperweight.
After watching the whole video, it should be illegal and capped on what dealers can charge. It should be a crime. Even without the markups, those prices are OUT of control. I am from TN though and things are a bit cheaper...but not by much.
It should be legal. If someone is dumb enough to pay for it, let them.
@@Lagann0problem is there are alot of people with more money than brains that don't care and that hurts the entire market for all the rest of us. It isn't just effecting the people paying too much.
You don't want to be 6'5" trust me. You'd never be able to drive that beautiful lambo if you were lol
I gaurantee a 6 foot 5 guy could easily fit in a newer lambo
@midnight347 I'm 6'5", I stand next to them at cars and coffee every other weekend... I'm sure a 6'5" person might fit, but it definitely wouldn't be comfortable
I'm 6'4" and fit into one of my other cars - a 2003 Corolla.. Do you think that I stand a chance? Haha
So true, the front line is just a mirror image of the management there. Sooooo how you filmed it is how it goes when you don't want to get screwed. Let em cry
They are a horrible dealership. Bought a truck there years ago. Worst experience. Service deparment is even worse.
Bro glad that i found your channel 😂😂😂👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽!! I helped my friend a lot and he got a Scat Pack for a great price
Sad to see how American car companies wrecked themselves. I always thought they should've had a low price 4-Cylinder Charger and Challenger going for $19999. Would've been the hottest thing..
Their sales manager needs to be fired forthwith. In fact, the whole management team needs to be shuffled to have so many cars sitting for a year
I absolutely love the superbee! My dream spec too. Wish they would stop smoking rocks and come back to reality on the prices. That superbee is a 60,000$ car max.
Hey can you do a dealer visit and compare different markups and tell us how to talk dealers off them. Keep up the great work 👍🏽
Chrysler products, Stellantis?
The MSRP should be downgraded 10-15% and THEN we start with 10-20% markdowns.
your "why doesn't the "last model" matter for tradeins" hit me in the gut that's my case I have a limited edition 150 cars in the country of a car not made anymore and they offer me laughable trade-in money on the other hand they want MSRP and more for a new car when their lot is full of them, I almost signed due to fomo but dealer delayed until he found the perfect buyer and make max profit and now I wisened up
Why harass the workers as if they set the prices?
10:22 They park a "$100,000" car on the dirt, not a truck, but this car. That makes me want to race over there to buy it, and they had to drive over a curb to get it into the planter.
They don’t want to make money that’s why! I sold my hellcat , moving to a different platform. These cars are not worth the markup etc.
12:20😂😂 they’re tripping!
You treated that salesman perfect. I have NO problem with asking the right questions. If they want to be in that line of work. They should expect serious questions. Just my thoughts, Ron
sitting for a year? cylnder walls are bone dry. gas in the tank? oxidation in the oil? HA! bird shit etched into the clearcoat.
Hey, if they can hold the cars at those super high prices, more power to them. The market will figure it out sooner or later.
Rolls Goals at 10:15
My belief is these dealerships are sticking to markups because they are hoping to get the floorplan repossessed. They have no choice but to go this route. It’s smarter than selling at a loss. They know they won’t sell at auction and Stellantis will end up having to buy the cars back from the bank otherwise they risk none of there cars ever getting financed in the future.
Love watching this kind of videos
If a dealer has a new car in stock for 1yr , the dealer has to write a check to the bank to pay the car off (floor plan). The bank owns the new cars. In some state when the dealer has to pay the car off it is considered used ........
What we need to get to the bottom of is, who is buying any new cars right now. Because whoever it is is screwing up the whole market!
If the Banks will stop approving loans for such high markups and start loaning for MSRP only, minus down payment, we would see improvement.
You should watch a Demonolgy video. He seems to be the only TH-cam channel that gets to enjoy his ride. Whereas other channels are making the same tired video( not even mentioning TK’s garage) you and TK should ride around together and get it figured out. You will not change corporate greed. We all know about it. That’s what happens when people’s god is money. Enjoy the car because tomorrow. . . Who knows your condition?
I know people that build the new Chargers in Windsor.
They say they can't keep the line running. Constant shutdowns.
You the best OC!
Your videos are awesome. Thanks. I have never bought from a dealership. It's such a a game looking for suckers.
It's not about dodge it's about the fact that dealerships still ask for arms and legs for a vehicle
That's the least motivated sales team I've ever seen. Just sitting there while a guy is on the lot..... no wonder the markups
You would have fun with the dodge dealers over here in Virginia. They still have over 100k markups on the demons.they are clueless.
So glad I'm retired and bought a used 2009 Jeep Liberty back in 2010 and a used 2007 BMW Z4 with less than 24,000 miles back in 2013. The Jeep tows my Airstream and my 3 dogs just perfectly and I've now got a fun Z4 for my Oregon back winding roads! Who needs one of these ripoffs and I have nothing to prove driving a $100,000 tire burner.
They have lost their everlasting minds 😂😂😂 I’m in Georgia and you can get these same cars for msrp.
Escaping from car sales is very difficult and hard to parlay even into other commission sales positions. I've been there, and it is tough.
Lmao, when you showed that hornet at the dealership I work at, we have only sold 1, and it's that exact color, and the person bought it because they think it will save the bee's 😂... for me the superbee isn't all that and definitely don't like that color
I bought my house 20 years ago for $117,000. These cars cost more than what I paid for my house and sadly they are depreciate liability. What even more sad is that some fool will pay that kind of money just to look cool.
1st, you can live vicariously through me, I *am* 6'5" (after a trip to the chiropractor 😊)...
But you'll appreciate this.
I bought my '23, TorRed Scat Pack-plus w/ Shake-down and dynamics package, H.K. stereo w/subs and the whole nine... *With a manual,* not because I expect it to go up in value and blah blah... But, because that's what *I wanted.*
It's about wanting to *drive the car* and not "have it drive me..." Because it's *fun.* I was fortunate enough to find it used with *2k mi.* on it, in great shape and got it for just over *hard invoice.* 😊
I bought it because when I'm done with it (read dead), it'll be my kid's, if he's good... If my wife gets into trouble after I'm gone (she saves 8x more than I do 😊) she can sell it and my old Road Runner and whatever else is rolling around here and she'll have a chunk of change so, she won't starve. 😊
I used to sell cars and work as a certified tech for decades and it was "the cobblers children" around me place so this year, my wife and I both got new cars (my first since '87!) But, I've had all the cool cars over the years, just not new. It was time before I got too old to drive it. 😆
You should be a limit on markup they would make a lot more sales if they weren't greedy
I thought you were completely reasonable honestly. Then again, I don't like when people make shit up. So I think you were very generous.
