Ajcharaporn Kongyot is the face of the Thai team. Her performance in this match against Turkey proved that she is the core of her team. Ajcharaporn was spectacular both offensively and defensively for Thailand in this match. 44 attack attempts, which is the most out of all the players including Turkey. There were many defensive plays that if Ajcharaporn isn’t there, Thailand will probably loose the play. I also loved the way she is showing her presence both on the offensive and defensive side of the game. Just look at how many defensive plays she made to keep Thailand alive and trying to open up more offensive opportunities to score. Her floor defense is so solid and made me forgot that she's an outside hitter. Since the burden on Ajcharaporn was quite heavy, she showed some fatigue in the later stages of the game especially in the fourth set. She used up all her energy near the end of the match because the Thai team relies on her too much. You can clearly tell she is exhausted by the way she moves and jumps. Also in the fourth set, the quality of her spikes such as her back row attacks are not as aggresive and powerful compared to the beginning of the game. She needs to improve her cardio if she really wants to level up herself. It just seems that her weak point is her stamina after years of watching her play and I wonder if anyone noticed it. But I am proud for her as she did her best to carry her team. Wish her the best in the future!
I certainly do agree with you, that she was one of the most efficient players of her team, together with Chatchu-On and Pimpitchaya. They were trying so hard to fight back, but somehow the energy of total team was not enough to win at this time. She will improve herself in terms of her cardio condition for sure. As long as she is on the team, it is like buying an insurance. Ajcharaporn is the reason why these Thai girls can fight for 4 sets against a taller and more athletic Turkish team. Chatchu-On and Pimpitchaya weren’t enough to help out Ajcharaporn on the offensive and defensive end of the game, they can for sure be better as they are only 22 and 24 years old. Ajcharaporn is 27 which naturally makes her the leader of her team. Many of her attacks were back row attacks, which is a lot more demanding than normal spikes. Her weakness in stamina really affected her performance in her attacks in the fourth set.

I love Ajcharaporn as much as everybody on this thread. But when she's declared "a main player" of the team, I can't help my intention to disagree. I propose everybody, interested in the topic, put together the Thai team VNL 20222 results before and after Thatdao's injury. IMHO, Thatdao's impact on the team's performance is huge and sometimes underappreciated just because her role is less glamorous. The reason I put Thatdao higher than others is that for Ajcharaporn's job, they have also highly qualified Chatchu-On and Pimpichaya. So, her absence or poor performance may be partially compensated. But for Thatdao's job, they have only Hattaya, but IMHO, she is not as good as Thatdao. And no one is really good behind these two's backs... Without Thatdao and Hattaya the Thai team is doomed.
