I googleed the name on pasta and found it as ''diamond paste for sharpen and polish the knife edge''. The product in the video looks like it belongs to a sample. When you searched for diamond paste, I saw it as a product sold in syringes. The number appearing as 0.5/0 probably indicates the thinnest grit . 320 / 800 / 1500 grade sandpaper was used first.
Oh man, I’ve seen videos about how to remove scales from a Victorinox, and ppl add warm water to soften the plastic. But you do it with a stick only, that’s ingenious.
Did a search on what I can see on the tin in the video, and I found diamond polishing paste/compound. A company called Kemet seems to sell a version of it. I’m sure there are others too.
Que bien quedaron las tapas de la navaja que estaban bien rayadas, con esas finas lijas, de varios grados y niveles de pulido..!! Muy buen tutorial..!! Excelente video..!!
300, 600, 1500, 0.5 micron lapping paste. Although any similar grit progression would do the trick. So 400, 800, 1500, or 600, 1000, 2000 would work just fine too.
hello can i just ask if when you scratch that original gloss. Will the paste ''restore'' the original gloss (will it look like original) ?? thx for answers
I've used a combination of 400 grit wet/dry, 800 grit, 1200 grit, then Autosol metal polish (lightly) , then 3m polishing compound for cars. A bit intensive, but brings some really nice results.
Ive had my camper for 40 years now and i rather like all the scuffs and scratches. I even like the slight bit of melt caused by me leaving it too close to a fire. Polishing it would be like polishing an antique coin. Nooo!
Can you make a list with th númbers and the name of paste. ?

I just tried polishing a scratched set of scales but I didn’t have all the proper sandpaper so I ordered some on Amazon.
Chrome polish works too.
Cape cod sheets also works for final polishing👍
Very difficult to impossible to read the various grits of sandpaper, or the label on the polish container.

Im scared to polish down the emblem. Its an original one, but it looks too superficial to me for sand it that much.
Perfection

Nice 👍
Bravo , any one can describe plastic polish name pls , thanks
How does the side just 'pop' off? In real use that'd be long lost😅
Usually I took scales off by puouring knife in wery warm water for a while.
After I use another blade to take scales off.
Sanding & polishing erodes the scales. Let the battle scars show how durable the knife as a whole is.
I would never use sandpaper on it, not with that grit.
I prefer polywatch and... Patience.
Went too fast so the reader could not see the grit on the sandpaper. And it was not written on the video. Very frustrating.
Too cool to answer questions, apparently.
Damn 320 grit to start... Way to aggressive

The scratches tell a story. If you want a dress piece buy an Alox model.
They're designed to be replaced, not last indefinitely. It's the first thing Victorinox replace when they do a service under the guarantee.
@@IveJustHadAPissEven so, the video is about restoration not replacement.
