  • About three weeks ago I picked up a Behringer Pro-800. I immediately did the video “Bright Love” (link at bottom) using mostly Pro-800 sounds, but others mixed in as well. Then I was out of town for almost two weeks… I finally got back, started playing the instrument again, and so, after four days of playing, here is a quick, down and dirty “First Impressions” using sounds I created. (Yes, some of them are purposefully clichés.)
All sounds are the Pro-800. OK, I used reverb. Also, I copied the first and last “horn” sound to left and right channels and put a “slap” delay on the right channel. I then used a phaser on the right channel at about 8% mix. That little bit was subtle, until I hear it on TH-cam and now can hear the phasing “swish”. Sorry, but the sound is close to how it sounds direct recorded. I also doubled the bass in what I call the “bridge”. This was a real doubling, i.e., I manually played the part twice. All other sounds are straight out of the synth, not doubled. "All sounds" includes the percussion sounds. And as I said, this is very down and dirty.
    I hope you enjoy!

This sounds like it's straight out of a Dr. Who or Hitchhiker's Guide ... episode, with a little Van Halen thrown in at the end. Love it! Trent, have fun with your new toy🎉

Thanks! I had to get that VH reference in without upsetting copyright laws ;) This is a n inexpensive recreation of a vintage synth that gives vintage vibes, so, although VH used a very different synth, I think this shows it can get that 80s vibe without effort.
