It's interesting, that this means video games turned 50, based on this game, in 2021. And I didn't hear anyone talking about it. My first video game was Pong, which I played in some bowling alley, in 72 or 73 I presume
Back in its prime, it actually got full, which prevented the game from working and they thought something was wrong. But it turned out the coin box was overflowed with quarters. True story.
It's only 600 volts or so, right? I wouldn't touch tube electronics. I always heard the caps can be deadly, if you are not careful due to holding those high voltages.
Which custom cab are you referring to? The red computer space is all original. They made a lot of them in Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. Yellow is the rarest.
Incredible design... game might be simple and archaic but the concepts are all there and would be expanded upon...
A Dune Buggy car manufacturer designed and made the shell out of fiberglass. Making it look futuristic. :-)
That is an amazing machine ! Thank the lord there is people out there to save these relics !
Kudos to them for saving the original monitor and not taking the easy way out with a replacement TV.
A truly beautiful machine, in fantastic condition considering that it's nearly fifty years old.
Kind of a funny sensation to see pixelized sprites laid out as actual components on a logic board. Very cool. o u o
I love that 70's metal flake paint.
It's in gorgeous shape
great job as always, George!
Saw it in funspot in Laconia, NH
Nice. I'll check it out in the summer when I go to Lake Winnipesaukee.
The machine still looks so futuristic
Agreed!
It all started with that machine, cool video man.

That's a GREAT point!
This is simply magnificent.
It's an great part of arcade game history.
What a pain to have to get the quarters out! you would have to pull the machine away from the wall to open the back! wow haha

the fact that the first arcade game is a space game and looks like amogus is so funny to me
i just had the same thought and i'm rolling
I got to play one today!
Very cool!
Excellent. Love to see it.
Sean from classic arcade repairs on TH-cam has fixed these game boards
Yep, I know Sean Dotson. Great guy! Those boards he fixed belonged to Timerunner (Mark Shields). Another great guy in the arcade community. :-)
This is beauuuuuuutiful!
The missing rubber insulation boot on the monitor HV line gives me the shakes.

Played that yesterday at the 2022 expo
You played a part of Arcade history! It's rare to have one that works!
Soylent green movie

But it doesn't seem to work
This is an older video. The monitor has since been restored. We talk about it here: th-cam.com/video/jEnw2Cy9mRw/w-d-xo.html
