    It took me a while to realize that plant23 referred to a year. 8 acres an hour doesn't sound like enough for us here. We have fields that would take hundreds of hours at that rate.

      @@vikingvalleyfarm For sure. We only get 12 inches of rain a year, so we can only grow wheat and not lentils, at least not at our most western fields. They have to be big to produce enough wheat to justify having it in crop and not in CRP.

      @@vikingvalleyfarm 350 to 500 average. A few of them are closer to 700 but my dad has a couple that are about 1000. Depending on the terrain, some can take a very long time. They break into many small pieces after a few opening laps. Lots of eyebrows and unfarmed out ground in the fields
