"there is hope for healing", the words everyone who has experienced childhood trauma needs to hear.

This remarkable women brought to light that my severe emotional, physical, neglect as a child has had such an impact on my entire life so far. I am now 48 and didn't realize not only was I physically abused, but the emotional neglect probably did much more damage.

Indeed, me too. People say "get over it" well...its not that easy is it? I find it so hard to just be known and understood, by even one person. It's hard.

Me too.. I had a significant traumatic childhood.. In spite of I got to the pinnacle of education.. Specialized in mental health social work.. Been working in statutory child protection for the last 14 yrs.. But I struggle with mental health issues of anxiety and depression.. I am now 54.. It's more so in the last 4 yrs.. Have endured harassment, discrimination and bullying at workplace and the cumulative harm has a significant impact on me..

@@drjosythomas1311 I'm so sorry to hear that. We are extra sensitive to words. I think you should record their harassment and take them to court. I'll pray God brings you freedom from that.

i know exactly what she is talking about.
me and my younger brother went to hell and back as little kids...well he is falling apart and in a mental institution and i am barely hanging on.
its hell on earth not having nurturing parents

Finally. Someone who GETS IT. That many childhood "problems" or "issues" can be traced back to some sort of childhood abuse or trauma. Neglect, and being an unwanted child can also severely negegatively impact a child. We are told to "get over it", but a small child can not just "get over it". It hurts us, myself included. Solution: Be better parents. Teach people to BE better parents....and please...Don't HAVE children until healthy people are married and READY to have children. Then, still work on it, and on yourselves, to not pass on negative childhood hurts to your own children.

There will be always unwanted and abused kids, so many parents are horrible, the news just highlights it, tip of the iceberg, this world is like this, for every child that gets nurtured, is in a safe home, there is another child going through horrors, there is always an opposite ALWAYS.

I have 10/10 aces but I am doing so much better than I was and for once I'm finally happy in life for the most part I do still have some flashbacks and episodes and bouts of depression but it's mostly good but that's after years of therapy support and research and stuff and yes we can do good in life and be successful and even happy in life but for people like us who've exsperienced trauma and adversity and many different stresses in life it usually takes years sometimes even a life time to heal from these scars
