    • @PeanutChuAdventures
      @PeanutChuAdventures  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi drabbat, I record in 4k/120 at normal speed. The slow motion is applied in the Final Cut. With rapidly moving birds, I will usually reduce to 25% and with 120fps, it looks natural. Sometimes I will go 50% depending on what I think looks appropriate. Thank you for watching.

    Hi Peanut
    Great footage. You mentioned the two different 800’s.. what differences did you see in their ability to track the birds?

    • @PeanutChuAdventures
      @PeanutChuAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Steve, right now I am still playing with some settings, and I have the PF lens is tracking better than what I had on the 5.6. But I need to test the 5.6 with those new settings. But overall the tracking on both are excellent. Thanks.

  • @brianlemke6017
    @brianlemke6017 ปีที่แล้ว

    Fantastic footage. Which lens do you prefer?

    • @PeanutChuAdventures
      @PeanutChuAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Brian, great question.
      I was not expecting the 800pf being so good, but I am loving it.
      With video, its hard to tell the difference in quality between the 2 lenses. In this video, I used about half with each lens.
      Sharpness is very close, the 5.6 may be a little sharper and render the background a little smoother.
      Autofocus is so close, I have been testing the pf with different z9 settings, to me it's working better than the 5.6 right now, But, I have to test the 5.6 with same settings to see if autofocus is equal.
      Big advantage with lightness with PF. I injured by back for a couple of weeks and 5lbs less really helped out. But overall, the 800pf is a game changer for me.
      Brian, thanks for watching.

  • @biologyuppsala5389
    @biologyuppsala5389 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great footage! What is your opinion on the 800PF for both video and still images? Looking at the title I thought you were going to compare the lenses.

    • @PeanutChuAdventures
      @PeanutChuAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Biology. Thank you, I should have compared. On my previous harrier video, I did say when I was using the 800PF. On my next video which is a red tail hawk I will make sure to compare.
      I can only give my opinion of the 800pf with video, I have not shot any pictures. For video it is excellent.
      What I like.
      1) Autofocus is just as good or possibly better than my 800 5.6 and 600 f4(not the z).
      2) Sharpness is excellent, but not better than 800 5.6 and 600 f4.
      3) its so light, I carried it 13 days straight while on 2 week trip to florida, a least 2 miles a day. The 5.6 I probably would have had some knee pain probably.
      The 5.6 and 600 f4 does render a smoother background than the 800pf even with the same aperture and distance.

    • @biologyuppsala5389
      @biologyuppsala5389 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PeanutChuAdventures thanks for your reply. I own the 800PF but considering upgrading to the Z600 for better light gathering... But it is another 900 grams :(

    • @PeanutChuAdventures
      @PeanutChuAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@biologyuppsala5389 , the z600 should be better considering its 15.5k, the sharpness must be top notch along with the autofocus, but like you said, its a bit heavier. I have the Fmount 600 f4 and the sharpness is great. But I think the new zmount lenses on the big glass, the autofocus may be better, what do you think?

    I love owls! which state are you in? I am in Minnesota. I am trying to learn video in new Z9 but I am confused with so many things in it. Can you tell me your settings like H264, 60? anything else to know? Thank you so much for spending time with birds. Steven J

    • @PeanutChuAdventures
      @PeanutChuAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Steven J, I am NJ, but this video takes place is in NY.
      You got some great owls in Minn. Yes, the birds are my relaxing place in my mind.
      Here are the important settings for video for me.
      1) Video Mode =AFF, I did a video about this to explain.
      th-cam.com/video/sLbi_XeNSg0/w-d-xo.html
      2) Video File type = I use H265 10bit.
      I did a video on this to explain. But use 8 bit, if your computer is not a super fast one.
      3) Frame rate/size = 3840x2160 120.
      I did a video on this to explain.
      th-cam.com/video/vA29_VYsdl0/w-d-xo.html
      4)Focus Mode I use wide L , Wide S or single box I create.
      Video coming.
      5) I shoot manual, using auto iso, exposure comp.
      6) Shutter speed. 2x frame rate minimum. So 120frames, you can set ss at 250. But if light is too much, you can go higher.
      These are the main things about video. Try it out. Let me know how it goes.
