Cori is an amazing role model in the world where we struggle to find any. A slight side track and a sad observation about Iga Swiatek; if only she was born in a Western European country like England, France or Germany, she would've been on the cover of every magazine, invited to a movie premieres as well as having a cameo roles in films and tv shows. Sometimes, the 'inability' of noticing her by CNN, BBC etc is getting a bit offensive. I had a motion capture / modeling experience and I remember when sending out my resume and headshots, everyone was very keen to work with me... until they saw my last name and assumed some preconceived notions about me. PS. You almost saw me as the face of Leon in those new Resident Evil games :)
I disagree. When Iga came on the scene, she was a great player, but seemed very reclusive. Her hat, not too many smiles always seemed as thought she really wasnt interested in doing much with the public. She was always very businesslike. I don’t think anybody cares about her name, they they take their lead from her personality, which has been very low key. Only here, this year a couple of days ago with Ben Shelton and Roger Federer, did we see any happiness and smiles from Iga. If a person isn’t personable and outgoing, a company or people will not seek her out to do public things.
