    Great video. I also had an FJR, that is also one of the reasons that I like these panniers, because they are very similar in size, shape and function to the ones on the FJR. They appear to be of a good quality and are reasonably priced. By the way these are the only panniers bike specific to the Kawasaki Z900 RS, as far as I am aware of.

    Love that 3P mount. It's brilliant - easy to install, clean & lightweight. But those cases add so much girth to the bike! Wish they'd come up with a slimmer 30L version or something.

    I bought SH36 and SH58x and it is fu..ing amazing. Excellent price and quality. Best By for sure and great looking on my Tracer 900. 3P system for side case is excellent, especially when compared with ugly Givi or Kapa mounting systems. Shad is also made great, when provide spare lock with SH36 for Top Case. Now all three are with the same key.

      Yes, it's a very nice system. I'm considering getting the SH58x myself but only after I receive my new bike, Tracer 900 GT. Should arrive in May and I'm planning many videos, so stay tuned!

    Great review, I'm in the market for panniers for my 2021 Tracer 9 and it seems like SHAD are a great choice. They ælook good, are not too big and they are even a bit cheaper than GIVI. I really like that the mount it self are so well intergrated with the bike.

    Just got the Shad 3 bag system for my XSR900 delivered today. This kit is lovely quality. And I'm not getting paid to say that. Quite the opposite, in fact. Kerching!

    Thank you for sharing this video! Quick question - are those cases wider then handlebar tips or not? Asking in terms how comfortable is lane splitting with this case installed? Thanks!

    • @CriticalRider
      @CriticalRider  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're 2-3 cm wider in total, so not a bid deal. I have a link in the description for a picture with measurements, check it out.

    Thank's friend. Very good presentation.
    I would like to know what is the measurement of the distance of the widest points of the cases and the widest points in the front (steering). It seems that the back of the motorbike with the cases is wider the front. Will you be kind to say how much wider is the back of the motor, please? All the best to you and success in your adventures.

      Wow, this is an old video. 95 cm in the front (handguards), 100 cm in the rear (side cases).

    Hello, your videos on the Tracer 900 are really explanatory!
    Can you fit your Shoei helmet in the extra Shad soft bag and then put them inside the hard case (Sh36)? Keep up the good work!

    • @CriticalRider
      @CriticalRider  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Nikos. The Shoei fits very tight, but I think you can still use the soft bag around it. I never really tried though so I can't say for sure.

    Thanks for the helpful video! I just ordered a set of these bags today and the bike shop I ordered through said you sometimes have to reposition the rear turn signals to fit these bags. I didn't see you do this so should I assume they're mistaken? Also, could the side pieces you removed be put back on, if desired, or do they not fit over top of the racks?

    • @CriticalRider
      @CriticalRider  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bill. I'm sorry, I missed your question. I have the Yamaha tail tidy which already repositions the turn signals, so I don't know if you need to reposition the stock signals. With the tail tidy there's no need for it. I don't think you can re-fit the side pieces but that's a good question, maybe it's possible - I didn't try it, but I'll take a look. Cheers.

    Hi, thank you for a realy useful guide. How wide are the Shad side-cases when fitted? Are they wider than the handlebars? Nigel

    • @CriticalRider
      @CriticalRider  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The handlebars are 96 (or 98) cm wide, and the cases 102. So, pretty much the same width, you won't notice the difference.

  • @mikeskidmore6754
    @mikeskidmore6754 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I purchased GIVI side and top cases for my Yamaha FZ-07 the brackets for side cases are much more complicated to install and I had to cut out some plastic and bolt some small pieces together .. I had to purchase the side case bags separately and paid $135 for tiny flimsy led lights for the side cases..
    I think Shad would have been just a bit nicer for like $200 less for all three cases.. I think the Shad brackets are nicer .. Shad makes for fewer brands and models I Helmut will not fit in my side cases...

    • @CriticalRider
      @CriticalRider  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had this bike in a few years already but never had an issue with the handling because of the cases! Go for it, they're pretty good.

  • @cloggsy1971

    Are the side cases wider than the bars? Do you have any issues filtering in traffic?

    • @CriticalRider
      @CriticalRider  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      - handlebars: 96 cm
      - side-cases: 100 cm
      no issues, but I have a lot of experience filtering with an FJR, so maybe I'm biased.

    Do you think it feets a laptop backpack on this cases? I dont like the look of the tracer with a top case so i was considering to buy just this Shad side cases.
    I've noticed that you've instaled an mirror extender. Can you please tell me where did you get it?
    Thank you.

    • @CriticalRider
      @CriticalRider  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +João Marques I don't know if it fits. I hope it does, I need mine on this trip :) I'll try it later, maybe make a video on that. As for the mirror extenders, I got these: www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-MT09-TRACER-Mirror-Extenders-x-2-UK-Manufactured-/131781937496? and painted matte black myself.

      +João Marques Hi João. I've tried a few laptops today, and the 12.5" and 14" fit against the back of the case (so, standing) and the 15.6" also fits but horizontally. I've done a video on that (thanks for the idea) and I'll be posting it soon.

      i'm planning trade mine with FJ09,The only issue is the seat height,but lowering kit will do the job,.

    • @CriticalRider
      @CriticalRider  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sherab Tenpa I've read reports that you will scrape the center stand on tight curves with the lowering kit. The bike is very narrow and light, so it's easy to handle even if you're not very tall. I suggest you try the bike.

    do I understand correctly that the panniers cannot be locked and anyone can just open them?..

    • @CriticalRider
      @CriticalRider  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's not correct. They can be locked with the supplied keys, so no one will be able to open them or remove them from the bike. The locks are very solid. Not sure how you got that impression :)

    You can cut the screen so the hand guards don't touch.

    • @CriticalRider
      @CriticalRider  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought of that, but I only use this screen for touring, so I can live with it as it is. I still think it's stupid from Puig.
