+Marcos Agosti I tried the Yamaha comfort seat and I didn't see any difference between the original and that one. I'll probably try the Touratech seat when it's out. Thanks for the info, I'll keep an eye.
The nicest accessory I saw was the handguards. It fades nicely with the bike design. Probably also the cheapest :) your bike is a traveling machine man! I’m getting a CRF250 rally for the looks and to learn to ride.
I'd say medium. You have to drill through the hand guards so you need to be careful. I didn't do the electric connections, I don't know anything about bike electric systems so I had the dealer do it for me. I think it took them 5 min.
Hello brother, nice mods. Just a suggestion for better protection of the exhaust and bike overall... Try a fender extender, front and back, their cheep, and go a long way in keeping the bike clean and scratch free. Cheers
Well, this was almost 5 years ago, I don't know if they still make them. I bought them on eBay, they're made by a company called Dzell. Good luck with your search.
Thanks Johnny. The exhaust is an official accessory so the dealer says a power commander is not needed, the bike is prepared for it. I didn't touch the footpegs, they're good for me the way they are.
from what i see, everything is perfect, and most of them i want to put on mine when i get it (maybe Xmas) EXCEPT the flashers and the acrapovic, For the exhaust i would get a Mivv Suono and for the flashers, the other kind of Yamaha flashers (the thin ones that have both stop light/day light and the yellow turning light, altho, much more expensive than those, but a LOOOOOT more beautifull)
Those thin Yamaha flashers are very problematic! They let water in, and they crack with vibration! Lots of bad feedback on those, that's why I didn't go with them.
ive installed them on many bikes, and noone turned back with complaints :/ thats why i am all for them, maybe different climate (less rain here maybe?) is the reason why? dunno
hi.. nice setup u have. i did followed some some of your setup. i'm wondering how did u solve the issue of installing puig windscreen, the part where the original washers did not fit in to the puig bracket?
Thank you for the review! I am planning to install the same Puig windscreen on my Tracer, but I have seen a review where they claim it makes contact with the original handguards in the extreme left and tight turning position. Do you have the same problem and if yes, how did you solve it? Also, is it possible to move up and down the Puig windscreen (the original one can move)?
Yes, the screen hits the handguards at the very end. I placed a bit of plastic strip on the screen to prevent scratching the handguards. The steering still locks fine.
Nice mods! I also have a Tracer and share some of your concerns as well. The gel pad looks custom made. Where did you purchase the gel pad and what model is it?
+Marcos Agosti It's not custom made. I got mine here: www.motea.com/en/seats--accessories/seat-cushions/motorcycle-gel-comfort-seat-pad-tourtecs-neopren-l-i4043-142495-0.htm They have other models (thicker, air cushion, smaller...)
hai Critical! what kind of brand are the crashguard/engineguard, are they from Faeling or something? and where did you bought it? tnx for the nice vids and keep filming!
did you ever change out the handlebars? i am looking for something that is a bit more rearward towards the rider... my stock bars are a bit wide for comfort.
Injustbbought the FJ09 about a week ago and installed the knuckle guard LED's in white. At night the LEDs from the knuckle guards look good but in the day time it's hard to see have you noticed the same thing?
I bought mine on the local shop but there's plenty of similar ones here: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=throthle+lock+motorcycle&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR4.TRC2.A0.H0.Xthrottle+lock+motorcycle.TRS0&_nkw=throttle+lock+motorcycle&_sacat=0
Hey could you inform me what local shop you got the booster throttle lock plz? maybe there is the same in Belgium and it is really interesting to have it!!
I use something similar (The Omni-Cruise), works great. Btw, you don't have to push the thottle back, if you brake the leaver pushes it back to. Great ride, have fun!
I haven't installed on mine, so I don't have experience with it. Yamaha sells auxiliary lights so there must be a power connection available behind the lights - use that connection.
Hello from London. Thanks for sharing your journey with modifications to the Tracer. I'm interested to know about the ram ball mount you have above the dash. Is this some you made or purchased? Its just what i'm looking for. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers..
+Rodney Hall Hi Rodney. Thanks for your comment. I've purchased the mount on eBay (GPS Phone Holder RAM Mount www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-MT-09-Tracer-GPS-Phone-Holder-RamMount-Type-CosmoMotoAccessories-/172164145366?hash=item2815c860d6:g:zq8AAOSwgApXApZ3 ). My initial tests show that it vibrates more than I'd like, even with the GoPro Session camera, which is fairly light. I'll only be able to tell how significant it is once I'm back from my trip, but keep that in mind. Cheers.

Ola, olha estou a gostar desses knuckle handguards.
at the beginning i thought you are a idiot . sorry for that! !! shame on me! now i'm a big fan of you and your TH-cam chanel! the simplicity and the quality of your videos is amazing. your composure in some situations is exceptional. Your video has convinced me also to buy a tracer. thanks for that. I have one question. What are you working? What is your profession? all the money for the bikes, the accessories, the equipment and the travels ... unbelievable ... ;-) What i'm doing wrong? I had to save money for the motorcycle for a long time ;-) ... keep going on! I can't find you on Facebook ??? greetings from germany
Thanks for changing your mind about me lol. I'm just trying to have fun and share it with whoever is interested. I saved for a year to get the accessories, and that's when I started making videos. Here's the link to Facebook: facebook.com/criticalrider.blogger Stay safe!
The mirror lights is genius. I was going to buy some to go on the forks but I think mirrors are the best idea
I have the same throttle assist on my bikes. Comes in very handy and I move it from bike to bike.
Very good explain about the acessories on the bike.
Awesome! In my opinion, way better than Touratech and/or other customizations I've seen here. Thanks for sharing & safe travels.
Thanks, you too!
You are very polite and helpful....ride safe and enjoy!
Thanks for the tip. Touratech is coming out with a new seat for our bike.
+Marcos Agosti I tried the Yamaha comfort seat and I didn't see any difference between the original and that one. I'll probably try the Touratech seat when it's out. Thanks for the info, I'll keep an eye.
+Marcos Agosti When? I bought the yamaha original comfort seat, but from what Critical Rider is saying it isnt any good.... omg
+Dulf Nordensvärd Try it first, maybe it works for you.
Love the mods!! I have the same bike and have started adding things when I can. Keep the vids coming! Thoroughly enjoying them!
The nicest accessory I saw was the handguards. It fades nicely with the bike design. Probably also the cheapest :) your bike is a traveling machine man! I’m getting a CRF250 rally for the looks and to learn to ride.
Good luck, keep us posted on your progress!
Hi I won't risk buying one then as they are not cheap! The seat is ok really!
hey there man thanks for the tips, good idea for the accessories.
really nice and composed video, Thanks for sharing all the info! good luck on your trip! Abraco!
Hi do you have an installation video for your hand guard lights? They look great. Good job 👍🏻
No, I started recording videos after I installed the lights, unfortunately.
Critical Rider that's a shame. Was it hard?
I'd say medium. You have to drill through the hand guards so you need to be careful. I didn't do the electric connections, I don't know anything about bike electric systems so I had the dealer do it for me. I think it took them 5 min.

+Andrei. Lepadatu I don't ride much in the rain so that's not really a problem for me. Also, I've yet to see a well-designed extender.
Good job, looks really nice
Looks good!
Thanks!
Hi, Where did you find the hanguard lights. They are awsome!! Can't find them anywere. Please advise.. Thanks
Well, this was almost 5 years ago, I don't know if they still make them. I bought them on eBay, they're made by a company called Dzell. Good luck with your search.
Thanks for the vid - nice job.
Thanks!
Good stuff. Did you have to add a Power Commander with the pipe? Did you consider lowering the footpegs?
Thanks Johnny. The exhaust is an official accessory so the dealer says a power commander is not needed, the bike is prepared for it. I didn't touch the footpegs, they're good for me the way they are.

Hi there, where did you get those hanguard lights? They look great. much neater than the yamaha running lights.
The links for all the accessories are in the description of the video.
hi.. nice setup u have. i did followed some some of your setup. i'm wondering how did u solve the issue of installing puig windscreen, the part where the original washers did not fit in to the puig bracket?
Luckily I had some tall washers lying around that were perfect for this.
Have you finished your Scotland trip video??
Let us know how you got on with the Tourtecs gel pad??
I don't use it anymore, I don't think it makes a difference at all after a few hours on the saddle.
Hey mate, any chance you did the installation video if the hand guard?
No, unfortunately I didn't have a channel back then so I didn't record it :(
I didnt know you could have the sidestand left on the bike, cause my dealer sold me the carbon end cap version of acrapovic system... now im pissed...
+Dulf Nordensvärd You mean the center stand?
Yes centrestand. Im really annoyed by this news...
Thank you for the review! I am planning to install the same Puig windscreen on my Tracer, but I have seen a review where they claim it makes contact with the original handguards in the extreme left and tight turning position. Do you have the same problem and if yes, how did you solve it? Also, is it possible to move up and down the Puig windscreen (the original one can move)?

hai Critical! what kind of brand are the crashguard/engineguard, are they from Faeling or something? and where did you bought it? tnx for the nice vids and keep filming!
Hey Roger. Yes, it's a Fehling, I have a video on the installation.
Hi Thanks for sharing. I am very interested in the illuminated handgards. Where may I find it ? Tnks again. Leonardo Ciao
Hi Leonardo. The links for all the accessories are in the description of the video.
+Critical Rider tnks so much. All the best. Leonardo

Yes, they're dim during the day, but I don't mind
Hello Where can I get the hack for cruise control.Any
website recommendations for me?
Thx
I bought mine on the local shop but there's plenty of similar ones here: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=throthle+lock+motorcycle&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR4.TRC2.A0.H0.Xthrottle+lock+motorcycle.TRS0&_nkw=throttle+lock+motorcycle&_sacat=0
Hi, I beg you where you bought the add lights? What brand is it I can not thank them nowhere found in any shop Supplies
Hi Tomas. Here's the latest location (it keeps getting re-listed): www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-FJ-09-MT-09-TRACER-Knuckle-guard-LED-Kit-White-/172204027933?var=&hash=item281828f01d:m:mki0q6KZkpolCgcn9DhHK-Q&vxp=mtr
Hey could you inform me what local shop you got the booster throttle lock plz? maybe there is the same in Belgium and it is really interesting to have it!!
I got mine on a Motoport, a chain of motorcycle shops in the Netherlands.
I use something similar (The Omni-Cruise), works great.
Btw, you don't have to push the thottle back, if you brake the leaver pushes it back to.
Great ride, have fun!
Nice one :) Greetings!
Hi Crítical Rider! What is your opinion about the Tourtec seat cover, does it really make a difference?
Hi Claudio. Not really, I used it on the first day of my trip to Scotland and then removed and didn't make a difference.
Hi, can you advise the best way to install driving lights to am 2015 MT09.
I haven't installed on mine, so I don't have experience with it. Yamaha sells auxiliary lights so there must be a power connection available behind the lights - use that connection.
What's the part number for those Yamaha blinkers?
Yamaha LED Flashers: Part #: YME-W0789-20-00
where did you get the handguards with the LEDs?
Search on eBay for Dzell (the link keeps changing), you'll find them immediately.
Thank you. I found it!
