I love dupe videos, Emily. Please don't stop making them. Because of your integrity and unbridled passion for makeup, I trust your dupe videos above everyone else's. Hands down.
Please continue to make the “dupes” and the “better than” videos! All my makeup comes from Walmart or Amazon so I deeply appreciate your research, your comments regarding the high end products, and especially your recommendations of worthy substitutes for those living within a tight budget. I know I’m not your typical demographic (71yrs) but I have to say you’ve improved my look 1000%. ✨💖✨
I love your dupes. I’m a 58 yr old grandmother in Scotland. I love these as I’m on a limited budget as I’m disabled. I love the look without the higher expense. I would love you to do a drugstore skincare video, with products available in the uk of course.
You nailed it Em!!! For me it’s because other creators (not you!) have watered down what a dupe is by things that are close and now I trust less that something is an actual dupe. Performance and color should be spot on to be a ‘dupe’. They should look and feel the same. If they don’t, perhaps they are a close alternative which IMO is not the same. A close alternative means it isn’t a dupe but they are similar in performance and color.
I prefer the Better than High End rather than the dupes. It used to be exciting to see them, but now that companies are duping each other it’s not necessary to look for them. Also, I REALLY appreciate that you show the application, because it’s so helpful. 💕🌸
I love DUPES and you are so right. Better than high end is very compelling. I feel like no one is getting the views from years ago. A lot of people I have watched for years is saying the same thing. Your videos are always well thought and well researched so I love this approach 😊
Hey Emily! To your first question, I don't think your audience is becoming more "niche," but we're just becoming more educated and sophisticated because of the lessons taught by you and so many others! Love the tips re: Hard Candy; I consider them stand alone products because they're just so darned good and I have no preconceived notions about the supposed superiority of dept. store and high-end makeup as I've never been able to afford it! So keep on keeping on! Thanks for the video!
I prefer your better than drugstore makeup videos. And you are one of only two content providers on makeup that I truly trust. I have _never_ purchased anything high end or drugstore that you recommended that was a dud. Love you.
You are the queen of Dupes Emily! I think the "dupes" genre loses its value from others because their comparison standards aren't as high. Personally I will ALWAYS LOVE DUPES VIDEOS ❤
I agree Emily. It isn't so much dupes per se , as I just don't want to spend a fortune on something that I can spend less someplace else. I can spend any amount of money but WHY would I? I am concerned about overload of ingredients that don't really do anything. I get it from my skincare. Nothing is going to halt my aging that is unique to me. I appreciate and trust your input on products. I appreciate your time and effort . There is always something to learn. Yes, my skin is older than yours but I can discern from your description where I need to adjust or just don't try something. Everyone loves and trusts you so keep doing what you do!!
I love dupes just as much as ever. That being said, I think how dupes are approached makes all the difference. When YOU present dupes I know they are legit dupes. When other beauty reviewers present dupes it tends to be more along the lines of “similar”, not true dupes. I for sure appreciate your dupe videos most of all.
I like videos where you find "similar products". I am really a girl who likes to play with makeup. I love to pick up a new lipgloss at the end of a long work week and go on a date night with my hubby. I enjoy being girly and getting all dolled up and just having fun. ❤❤❤❤
I agree with you on the dupe conversation. I don’t care if you repeat products during the year. That’s how we know what is really worth our time & money. You do add different info from video to video for the same product. It’s not old content. It’s you getting to know the product & giving us a chance to benefit. Win win ❤🙂
I like dupe videos, but not all content creators have the same standard to call things dupe. I appreciate true dupes or dupe that are simply formula OR color dupes and are labels as such. Mostly I love great drugstore makeup. You create amazing content that isn’t misleading. Your dupes are typically spot on. ❤❤❤
Em, today is my first day back after my maternity leave and I’ve been so sad being away from my babies! I’m so glad a video of yours popped up, I can listen to it in the background ❤ thanks for working with me this morning!
I only buy drugstore makeup, so dupes do not draw me. What does draw me is your sweet spirit, enthusiasm and in depth research to offer us the best products out there. You are awesome!
I do miss Tyler's reviews. I love his recommendations for men's products. My husband has enjoyed everything Tyler has recommended. From bodywash, face products, to cooking stuff. 😊😊
I think dupes became popular because so many of the TH-cam influencers were using MAC to create a specific looks - so everyone ran out to get that specific color, etc. ie velvet teddy, or a nars bronzer - or a mac eyeshadow - these days all influencers do is push products without creating looks - so there is really no impetus to find that specific eyeshadow or product, because the old end product - a really great look that you can recreate and have in your back pocket when you need to look great - is left by the wayside - everyone is doing hauls, monthly favorites and reviews which I personally find boring - I like watching you because you create looks that are actually re-creatable and teach great skills - my favorite videos are the 90's supermodel look, also the video where you showed each brush you use in what step and your best sellers at Target and Walmart - which the look you created for all those videos was beautiful!!
I so appreciate these dupe videos! I need affordable options and would rather save money where I can if the products perform just as well as other high end ones. So thank you!!! Please keep them coming!!!!
As far as I'm concerned, you can keep those dupes and better than high end makeup videos rolling! When I'm shopping high end now, I have to really want that product... No more buying to buy or impulse purchases. I let it sit in my cart for at least 2 weeks. If I still want it, cool. Usually, I don't. But with the drugstore, I can have more fun and grab stuff to try out and not feel guilty. I always love your recommendations! Ty! 💜
I enjoy dupes videos especially if the dupe is in the drugstore. The same with better than high end videos. I appreciate your videos. You are one of the few content creators that I trust to deliver honest reviews on products. I also appreciate the get ready with me videos so I can see the application. Thank you for all that you do.
I totally agree with you on the messy puffy tips! I'm so done with them. They collect product, feel gross to reuse, and are hard to clean. That being said, that's the reason I can't get on board with the Maybelline glowy primer you mentioned in this video. That sponge applicator just icks me out.
As a person who no longer buys high end I never get tired of dupes and are better than. It proves my point in why I shop the way I shop now. My husband said I grew out of buying a name and now I buy makeup. What disappoints me is when content creators say “oh this is a dupe or better than” but they then declutter the dupe. Why? Either they’re lying or they’re all about the brand name. Idk. I trust so few people anymore but Emily, you’re phenomenal!
I think the term dupe is used too loosely by some. The dupe needs to be the exact shade and have the same performance as the product being duped. Drugstore products that are even better than high end are always welcome! Thanks for this video. 💕
I love the “better than “ topics or dupes because there are so many products than can be underrated or forgotten about but you bring them to light and I really appreciate that.
I like dupes and drug store finds that are worth it. However sometimes I’m willing to pay more because the ingredients in the item are better or less irritating to my skin than the drugstore. Really depends on the product!
Love the dupes videos. Not only does it showcase the drugstore finds but in some cases, I haven’t even heard of the higher end product. You’re keeping me current, Emily! Love ALL your videos!❤
I don’t watch dupe videos because there are too many recommendations that aren’t good dupes or just aren’t great products. I don’t watch makeup videos anymore because I want to know the best products currently available. Not the best new product favorites. IDC if there is a cool new Dior blush that someone loves. For example, I want know the current best ‘lit from within” powder pink blush for fair to medium skin tones. Influencers aren’t great at putting their recommendations into perspective compared to what is currently on the market. They tend to come out with new favorites weekly or daily, and it all blurs to become meaningless to me. End of the year favorites are great if the TH-camr, like you, mentions their all time faves too. Like how you always mention the IT superhero mascara! That was helpful 😊
Based on your previous recommendations, I bought the two Hard Candy products in Sweet Tea and Who is She and I can’t stop using them! Love them! Then I top the blush with a little Essence Pure Nude baked blush in Rosy Rosewood and use a little Essence Pure Nude highlighter in be my highlight. Oh my goodness - just loving that whole combination right now. 😍
I like both. I would like to know if there is something out there to get the same look and if so, how it differs in feel, ingredients or lasting power. I really enjoyed today as well. Good to get excited about the quality and experience that is in drugstore budget. We have been so brainwashed by marketing, thinking that higher price means better quality when many times it means price points, branding, storefrint and margin. So I loved today's video.
I also love your dupe videos! Because you don't throw around the term dupe carelessly. Please continue to make them. Thank you (I've been watching you for almost 10 years I think and this is the first time I comment, that is how much I like dupes lol, and even better when drugstore does it better)
The Elf Whoa Glow is amazing! I’ve been using it lately and it replaces skin tints some days. It’s so pretty. Of course I have to powder because I’m oily but still. It’s gorgeous.
Honestly, Em, your dupes are the only ones I trust.👍🏽 Having watched you over the years, I've come to appreciate your commitment to finding a TRUE dupe. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE finding drug store items that are similar. Sometimes you just want to have fun without the high price tag!😃 However, when I need a product for a specific function, I need a bit more reassurance. Thank you SO much for all you do.❤
Omg, I LOVE DUPES!!!! Especially like you say BETTER THAN HIGH END!!! And totally agree that a dupe should be a true dupe! Thank you so much for this video. I really appreciate it. I'm 52 and I need all the help I can get for my mature skin! Lol....
That’s it…I’m stopping at Walmart to get Hard Candy items!! I agree with Emily on dupes - drugstore is killing it!! Better than high end at times!! ❤❤❤
I love makeup, and these days I'm focusing on getting more use out of what I have before it expires. This week I've been wearing the Essence baked blush in Pretty Peach--sooo good for summer! 🧡🧡🧡
I don’t care much for obvious dupes but do appreciate a good affordable drugstore product. I always enjoy your dupe videos or better than high end vids just as much as your high end “with the splurge” ones. Basically love all of your content ❤ My collection is 50/50 high end and drugstore. I don’t discriminate lol I buy what works for me
I can't believe I'm just now subscribing. I've been watching you for a long while! I don't wear makeup... so... what am I doing here... I know, right? I just love your personality. It's you! I like more skin care, hair care type videos, and would love dupes, especially on high end hair care. As an aside, I recently watched a "dupe" video and none of what the woman mentioned were dupes. It was just, here is a high end product, and here is a product I like more. Not a dupe at all. So I can see why people may be a little over them. It's great content if it's legit.
Thank you for all of the new product reviews! I have to try the Hard Candy lip liner and lip balm. I have tried the Hard Candy liquid blush in Born Yesterday and love it! I also have tried the Essence blush in Pink Flush and was so happy to find that it is an exact dupe for what was my favorite blush, Elizabeth Arden Radiant Blush in the shade Romantic Rose, which isn't made anymore.
This is such a unique idea for a video.I don't wear cream blushes much because I much prefer the experience of putting on a glowy powder blush. It feels more special for some reason. But those Hard Candy ones are calling my name!
As for the dupe conversation. I like YOUR dupes videos. I know your standard to call something a dupe is high (like mine). I don’t watch other dupe videos even from creators that I enjoy because they are not actual dupes, they always wind up being “similar” and I only know that after wasting my time clicking on the video, sitting through the ads, then the five minutes of blah blah blah, to inevitably hear“…. Well not exactly a dupe but the same vibe…..”. It leaves me feeling frustrated and conned. YOUR dupe videos are the real deal and I watch them every time I see them! ❤️
Always loved makeup, you feel special with the higher end packaging. However, affordable "dupes" give me the same end results or better at a price that my budget requires. Please don't stop!
I love watching a dupe video for myself who is on a bugget I am happy to see that you can get a high end look from drugstore makeup and save money at the same time. Thank you for this video and your honest opinion 😊
Love this video and I do enjoy dupes. Especially when you breakdown the reasons as to why the drugstore is better. I am proud to be part of you niche audience. 🎉❤😊
The lashes from the dollar store are amazing. I also got the Ioni eyeliner glue- based on your recommendation, of course- and I have never gotten false lashes on more easily. Amazing.
I love to make goody bags for my friends. Emily all your videos give me perfect ideas. Makeup, perfumes, bodywash, to yummy snacks and coffees . I love how your channels is for all ages. I love your kids food and toy recommendations too. So thank you so much Emily ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
Just give me all the drugstore products to be honest. I enjoy the term alternative versus dupe because sometimes I just want a more affordable option that gives me the same vibe as the higher end product. And like you said, the term dupe has over-saturated the community. I very rarely purchase higher-end products because I don't think there's much of a need with everything at the drugstore. But I will occasionally treat myself. :)
Love the Maybelline Perfector 4 in 1 (which I learned about from you!). I rarely purchase high end make up? When I do, and these are specific items, I buy them on eBay.
Please continue with the dupes! We need to know what is worth spending the money on. Some times we may think it is a dupe but it is really a dud and we won't know until you try it out and compare it to the high end product. Thanks
I'm having a mental health day from work & your videos have become my comfort background show while I clean my house, journal, etc. Not only are you truly insightful & knowledgeable about makeup, you have a very calming/welcoming presence. Much appreciated!!!! Have followed you for YEARS. Happy to have you around :)
Thank you for talking about the Hard Candy blush and bronzer in a previous video. I got my friend in the US to bring some out for me (I'm in Australia), and I've fallen in love with them. I got the shade Sweet Tea in the bronzer and Who is She? in the blush. The lip that you're wearing looks great, and I'm going to try my hardest to get my hands on it! BTW I still love dupes because most of my makeup comes from the drugstore, by preference.
Love dupes & dupe videos. I especially love the creators that show me differences between their high end ogs & all the dupes. I'll never get tired of that.
I bought the revlon liner in chocolate based on your recommendation and I absolutely love it! Definitely going to check out hard candy now. Great video!
You’re so, so right! I think more that “dupes” I’d be interested to explore more about brand umbrellas. You know how Banana Republic, Gap, and Old Navy are all the same owner, facilities, etc.” it’s that way in Beauty too - would be interested in content comparing different lines from the same “umbrella.” Dupes adjacent?
I LOVE your dupe videos!! What I’d like is a dupe for my Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip plumping glosses. I loveeeee these. I have several. I just had a second one break! At $24 a piece it really upsets me! I adore Cherry Blossom. Thank you,Emily!!
Here for the dupes!👍❤️ but even more for the truly better than high end. WetNWild’s Brûlée eye single, Milani Eye Primer and L’Oréal Lumi Bronze It bronzer - I use the light shade spring to mind. Maybelline’s Lifter Glosses, and their Lip Ink crayons.
Em can you compare what you think of the Maybelline vs Elf Halo glow?? I’ve used halo glow and like it, but wondering how it compares! Thanks and glad you are feeling better!!❤
I love dupe videos, Emily. Please don't stop making them. Because of your integrity and unbridled passion for makeup, I trust your dupe videos above everyone else's. Hands down.
Thank you! That means a lot!
Please do dupes 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Please continue to make the “dupes” and the “better than” videos! All my makeup comes from Walmart or Amazon so I deeply appreciate your research, your comments regarding the high end products, and especially your recommendations of worthy substitutes for those living within a tight budget. I know I’m not your typical demographic (71yrs) but I have to say you’ve improved my look 1000%. ✨💖✨
The most I have paid for a palette is $34 for a Naked Basics small palette. That is the most high end item I’ve ever bought.
Hear hear 👍
I'm 61. I agree 100%
I’m closing on 70 myself, and really enjoy this channel. Also love seeing your beautiful daughters.
59 here
Dupes are great, but I am most interested in just really awesome affordable makeup. I feel they can stand on their own💖
I love your dupes.
Your dupe videos are exciting because we know you go the extra mile rather than just recommending something that is similar
You are the best. If it wasn’t for you. I couldn’t afford makeup. There is no dupe for Emily. You are fabulous.
Dupes are exciting because sometimes you can't pay $100.00 for a durn foundation! 🙂
And why would I? It's not necessary.
@@traceyflater 100 percent truth!
Love you.
I love dups video
In that "pure nude" line from essence,is a highlighter that is incredible. No glitter, no shimmer it really is a lit from within glow.
Yeah but if you're super Fair it's too dark. I will say that their blushes are amazing!
You create amazing content that isn’t misleading. Your dupes are typically spot on. ❤❤❤
Em, today is my first day back after my maternity leave and I’ve been so sad being away from my babies! I’m so glad a video of yours popped up, I can listen to it in the background ❤ thanks for working with me this morning!
Aw! Glad to be here with you - sending love & hugs!!
I only buy drugstore makeup, so dupes do not draw me. What does draw me is your sweet spirit, enthusiasm and in depth research to offer us the best products out there. You are awesome!
Yes, the 4 in 1 glow is better than CT and the Elf dupe! I wear a darker shade as my bronzer.
I've been meaning to pick up a deeper color!
I do miss Tyler's reviews. I love his recommendations for men's products. My husband has enjoyed everything Tyler has recommended. From bodywash, face products, to cooking stuff.
😊😊
Could you do an 'all liquid' or 'all cream' makeup? Love your vids!
I love the way you do dupes. Not just color matching but texture & performance match. That's a dupe!
I’m over high end stuff. I rarely use up anything and would rather use things that it doesn’t hurt my wallet to replace.
Certainly plenty of drugstore options!
Yes I agree.
I always appreciate the demos between your commentary. It’s so helpful to see the product in action. Thanks for the above and beyond content.
I like seeing dupes, but since I never buy anything except drugstore make up, I just like seeing good drugstore products!!!!!!!
Love all the products you have included in this one!! I can’t stop using the Essence blushes…so pretty!
Really great product!!
I so appreciate these dupe videos! I need affordable options and would rather save money where I can if the products perform just as well as other high end ones. So thank you!!! Please keep them coming!!!!
Even if I am not planning on buying a high end item or it's dupe, I like knowing of dupes. 👍 Keep 'em comin'!
As far as I'm concerned, you can keep those dupes and better than high end makeup videos rolling! When I'm shopping high end now, I have to really want that product... Still love dupes so much! Love this even more! And always love you! ❤
Finally, a great video all about makeup dupes without distractions and veering off on other subjects.
Dupe or better … they’re both exciting to me! ❤
I like dupes and drug store finds that are worth it. However sometimes I’m willing to pay more because the ingredients in the item are better or less irritating to my skin than the drugstore. Really depends on the product!
Girl, I love your dupe videos! There’s something that’s so exciting about finding great drugstore makeup products. They excite me more than high end!
Love the dupes videos. Not only does it showcase the drugstore finds but in some cases, I haven’t even heard of the higher end product. You’re keeping me current, Emily! Love ALL your videos!❤
I will never tire of a good dupe video
Dupes videos are great! You also do a great job of letting us know all the specifics.
Love the dupes videos!! You do the reality version! Like I know what I’m gonna get, good, bad or ugly!!
We all love good quality makeup we can count on but when it’s a great price it’s soooo much better! Thanks for comment to quality and good prices!
Lol....
I’m not interested in dupes, but absolutely love knowing what’s great at the drug store!
I have trusted your dupes for over a decade! I appreciate these so much lol
Glad you are feeling better, Emily!! I hate neck pain!
I hope your back feels better soon, Emily. Yay for the girls being on summer break!
thanks!!
That’s it…I’m stopping at Walmart to get Hard Candy items!! I agree with Emily on dupes - drugstore is killing it!! Better than high end at times!! ❤❤❤
I love all your videos, Emily. You're the OG and the most down to earth and a non drama makeup influencer.
The blush you’re wearing is stunning!!!
I don’t discriminate lol I buy what works for me
I am obsessed with the Hard Candy liquid blush! Born yesterday is such a fresh shade. I’ve been wearing it every day since purchasing.
Dupe videos are one of my favorites!
Keep the dupes coming! Very much appreciated.
I love and always have loved dupes but I only trust them from you!
Your blush always looks so pretty!
Morning! Great way to start my day--watch Emily!! Love your videos and your energy!! Been a fan for years now ❤
Aww!! Thanks so much!!
Always loved makeup, you feel special with the higher end packaging. However, affordable "dupes" give me the same end results or better at a price that my budget requires. Please don't stop!
I love dupes. Exciting to me!!!💯😘
I love watching a dupe video for myself who is on a bugget I am happy to see that you can get a high end look from drugstore makeup and save money at the same time. Thank you for this video and your honest opinion 😊
I like dupe videos and especially yours because you investigate them.
In this economy we need dupes. I appreciate them
I still LOVE a dupe video!!!
Love this video and I do enjoy dupes. Especially when you breakdown the reasons as to why the drugstore is better. I am proud to be part of you niche audience. 🎉❤😊
Love the purple striped shirt!
I love a dupe. I also love a hidden gem at the ds.
Love seeing all of your dupes and the affordable drugstore Makeup! Yes, a lot of the drugstore makeup is better than the high end makeup!💄❤
I LOVE your dupe videos! Please don’t stop making them!❤
Elf just did it again with the Laniege glowy lip balm. I love saving money, dupe or not.
Yay! Love these videos! What a great way to get this day going?!
Please continue with the dupes! We need to know what is worth spending the money on. Some times we may think it is a dupe but it is really a dud and we won't know until you try it out and compare it to the high end product. Thanks
I *always* love good dupe videos!
Hello love🤗!i adore your dupe videos😊💕affordable gems from the drugstore are right up my alley😀thank you for all of your videos🙏💕!love ya!💛
Love you! Thanks for making time to watch!
@@emilynoel83 aww🤗!💚💜💚💜💚💜💚thank you!💜💚💜💚
Here for the dupes!👍❤️ but even more for the truly better than high end.
