This is debatable as it depends on the given situation. I separated/divorced my kids father and remained in the same area so they could still engage in a relationship as they were very young. I pushed for their father to call , allowed him to stay over on special occasions, and drove them to meet up but it was very scattered on his side. He promised he would do better and cried tears claiming his love but would have no contact for months/years. Spring forward 14 years later and my kids are fed up with the lack of involvement and I realized I couldn’t create the relationship it was on my kids father to show his intent and follow through on being a caring parent. I realized I am not the glue to hold the relationship together as it only caused deep sorrow for my kids when promises would go unfulfilled. All I can do is be the parent they need me to be and provide unconditional love. Thankful for therapy.

You can tell in some of the last episodes that his son was upset because he didn’t hear from him. He clearly mentioned in one of the episodes that his dad was not contacting him at all. I guarantee you that played on his psyche and that had a part in why he committed suicide.
I'm going through the same with my ex. He did nothing wrong. It was all my fault. He even tells his kids that. He is now acting 20 years younger and dating someone who is around his daughter's age. I say his kids because they decided they did not want someone who made their father leave as a mother.
If you did everything right in the end it should even itself out. We all carry a lot of trauma from our own childhoods and life dynamics and I hope all those things tie around in the best way possible for you. You will get through this as many of us did and do. Yeah he got kicked out of Christine’s house but he could still have made an effort to still go to the house and spend time with his kids. Christine never told him he couldn’t go over. He is just a baby. I’m so happy for the three that moved on. Robin just wants to be a kept woman.

TLC needs to cancel SW. There are no "sister wives"; Kody and Robyn made sure of that. It's very easy to keep up on the group via Yt, though not through the TLC channel and that is what I will continue to do. I am not alone.
It is beyond any degree of respect, integrity, ethics or morality that the next season will be "figuring out what went wrong". As it always has been, every future episode will be more of Kody's manipulations, berating and blaming Meri, Janelle and Christine for everything that went wrong, since the beginning.
