My FAVE series of the 80s!!! I, too, met Jane Badler! She was doing her show at Toff of the Town in Melbourne and she threw me a black rose 😀 WHAT A CLASSY LADY!!! I was SO pleased she was given a role in the V reboot? I just wish the reboot itself had been better. And killing off Diana? No wonder it got axed. But yes... I find myself YEARNING for a proper reboot, faithful to the original. And with a role for Diana that truly HONOURS Jane and the wonderful character she created! Sigh.... sadly? The world seems to lack the ability to make shows like V, anymore.
This and Alien Nation. I guess I have a thing for these sexy brunette villains. Princess Ardala from Buck Rogers. Princess Aura from Flash Gordon, and Diana from V.
Oh!!! The Summer of 1984, how great it was, such a great time to be a child, Street Hawk, Bruce Sprinsteen's Dancing in the Dark & Born in the U.S.A. was in the radio non stop, went to see Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom at the Cinema, and watching V and V The Final Battle on TV every Saturday Night for 5 weeks, truly superb times!!!🏆
Just love the opening shot. With the mothership slowly coming into view and gliding above the clouds. The music that accompanies it is just perfect :-) Feels like something different, more sinister and a new threat is coming.

Agreed. I was always fascinated with the motherships of the V Sirian fleet. Fifty motherships arrived on earth but how many more of them were there? This show was a classic, a favourite and was very well received until the TV series. I wish they would do an actual worthy reboot which involved the original visitor fleet, totally ignoring the 2009 interpretation. But yes I loved the opening shot as well. A new threat indeed….for Diana that is: Pamela’s arrival.
What a brilliant show this was. I was hooked on this as a kid and never missed taping it. TV was fun back in the 80’s when you never had to worry about offending someone. Great cast on this show and I always liked the fact it was the English actresses (June Chadwick and here Sarah Douglas) who got up Diana’s nose.
To OP. Except that *today* you have people whining about women in pivotal or powerful roles and (wrongly) believe this is something new when V and other tv shows did it almost 40 years ago. Did people back then complain about the most important character of the visitors being a woman or that the leader of the resistance is a woman?? No. But they sure as heck do *today* . Perhaps modern social media brings out the *worst* people en masse.

I also think along the way, people have become more fragile and are far quicker to take offence. A lot of the fun seems to be missing.

@shawnhilleboe8428 yep, you're correct, Greta Blackburn played Lorraine with Barbara, played by Jenny Neumann. Barbara apparently wasn't in the final battle series. Both looked similar with different hairstyles, so i can see how i mistaken the characters.

I LOVED the politics and infighting between the bad guys. And the 1980's feathered hairdos were nice to look at too! Like all three of them at 2:12 🤣🤣🤣
I'd be happy just for the weekly series to come back so we can finally see the conclusion to the cliffhanger last episode. V fans were really cheated out of that.

@@danielleith8 They never showed the shuttle explode. The writers intended for there to be a resolution shown in the first episode of the next season, but it never happened. There is a script floating around for the next (unmade) episode, it was pretty crazy actually.

Like many movies and series today, there was a strong parallel with 1930's Nazi Germany and the plot to exterminate the Jews, not unlike the Harry Potter series. Never thought we would be at the level of anti-Semitism we are currently at...
I remember seeing this on television. Right away I knew Pamela was Ursa (from Superman II) Her voice sounded odd (not the reverb, but different than on Superman) It wasn't until years later that I found out she was dubbed (oddly enough by the actress that played the ditzy girl on Superman III!)

When this aired during the eighties, it was groundbreaking. As a boy, I waited all week for the next episode. Good memories on those alien lizards 😁
