I like the jewelry you are wearing! What lovely work, very nice rivet finish. I absolutely love copper enameling. I must get myself a kiln and start. So creative and with colors of the rainbow popping out. I don't know why this appeals to me so much. Maybe as a child in the 60's, I saw a lot of Midcentury enameling on copper and silver. Thank you for all the great tips!

Great video. I've been on the fence about investing but you make it look so fun! I would be using it for portraits. What oil do they use and why? Are you using leaded enamels and flux?

Love all of Jan's videos! Question: what size is the fine silver tubing? And does that correspond to one of the Swanston disc cutters? She did mention that in another video, but wasn't sure if it applied to this very small size.
Please keep the Jan videos coming!

Hello, we asked Jan your question and she replied: In most of the videos that I have demoed tubing, there is a corresponding size to the first 4 Swanstrom disc cutters. Cool Tools carries those 4 sizes in fine silver tubing. They are not an exact fit but VERY close.
      - 1/8"(3.1mm)- 1/4" (6.3mm)- 3/8" (9.5mm)- 1/2" (12.7mm)
These are the disc cutter sizes
and these are the sizes of fine silver tubing
      3.25
      6.35
      9.53
      12.70
      all are OD measurements.
      I hope this helps

Beautiful enamel colors! New to this, so need to ask - can you torch this type of enamel or do you need to have a kiln?

    • @cooltoolsvideos
      @cooltoolsvideos  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Rita, you can torch fire Sunshine Enamels, however we do not recommend it. We recommend firing them in a kiln. Thanks for the question!

Oops, I was really wondering about that tube cutting holder, not the jig. I don't see any markings on the holder to measure lengths. So I guess one must measure and mark the tube, then set the holder according to marks made on the tubing?

Hi Bonnie, here is a link to the tube cutting holder: www.cooltools.us/Tube-Cutting-Holder-p/hol-117.htm
Yes, you must mark the tube then set the holder. Have a good day!

Hi Evangelos, this whole process takes about an hour or less? It is hard to say to be honest - it can always depend on so many factors! Thanks for watching.
