Instead of spending $30 for something i might not like i did this. Took off the cap and used four quarters which is about 1oz. There was plenty of room for the quarters. Taped the cap back on and gave it a try. I'm glad I did, I did not like the feel at all.
I have tried this method but when you add that many quarters to the bottom, you are actually increasing the length of the paddle. And if you hold the paddle further down due to that increase in length, the swing weight will increase substantially. Try using 2-3 1/4" x 1-1/4" stainless steel washers. They are thinner and heavier than quarters and I have found that method to be a better way of testing. Or just wrap lead tape around the butt cap. And if you end up liking that then go out and buy the slyce cap as it is a more aesthetic solution.
It adds weight to the handle which lowers the balance point making the paddle feel faster in the hands and hopefully increasing swing speed. It also adds mass to the paddle in turn increasing power a little bit.
Thank you for the video, my paddle’s cap was loose and I used the electrical tape to reinforce the fit, it’s perfect now!
I definitely want to try this!
Thanks for this!
Helpful. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!

i've never heard/seen this and they website doesn't say anything about it. What is the purpose and use of this ?

What about a staple remover?
That could work, I just didn't have one, would definitely be safer haha
How much weight does the cap add to the paddle?
1 oz minus the weight of the original butt cap, but I will have more info on that in my upcoming review.
The cap’s are 1 oz or 1/2 oz depending on which one you get
@@kevknows.pickleball Hey Kev did you ever confirm how much the original butt cap weighs?
@@khpickleball i measured a couple of them and they are usually around .2-.25 oz
@@kevknows.pickleballperfect thank you.
