They’re regulated that’s why they have to post bond. You just need to do your research before agreeing to anything in trucking. Fly by night companies and brokers are everywhere watch out.
I was once scammed. From that day on, I learned to ask the shipper who's the broker on the load. Once I found out that there was a different broker on the load. I allowed the load to get loaded, and then I called the original broker and got my price for the load. The scammer didn't make any money because I didn't send them the BOL when I got loaded.. You can catch the scam at the shipper if you find out who's the original broker. Section 7 on the bills holds the shipper liable for paying the driver if the shipper didn't sign in the box..(Section 7)
What do you mean?? If you take loads at a $2mile it’s a good way to go out if business quick, To pay your bills and be able to keep up with your equipment and to replace with new equipment you must make every bit of $3+ per mile, Face the reality don’t be stupid
Every time you get asked by shipper for pick up number always mention brokers name!Hey i’m picking up this load for let’s say Ryan and my pick up # is this. Many shippers always write down broker name on BOL.Landstar is famous for double brokering loads.
Load boards are a big part of the problem...I once reported a double broker to DAT compliance, and that broker was still allowed to post loads, despite my giving them documented evidence. They allow double brokers.
It is not illegal to double broker if the shipper agrees to it. It’s only when a shipper specifies the carrier they are using must be exclusive. In other words, if Dailey express for example has a direct customer, and they tell the customer they don’t always have the capacity to cover it with a Dailey truck, and the customer agrees that Dailey can and knowingly will broker it out to say Landstar, or Admiral Merchants, then the act is NOT illegal. And this happens ALL the time. It’s when they have an exclusive customer that only wants their freight on that carriers truck, then double brokering becomes illegal. And there is no agency monitoring any of this nor could there be with millions of shipments being moved every day. Wether any of you are aware of it, you’ve ALL hauled double brokered freight many times. Scheinder has a brokerage, so does J B Hunt, TMC has a brokerage.etc etc etc. You have to be vigilant and do credit checks and try and deal with the same people or at least with some regularity and stay away from high MC #’s.
@@Plowguitarist impossible in today's setting to deal with a specific broker agent. most only have a few loads per given area and or pretty much done after that.

Exactly!!!!!!! There’s one of 2 ways to go about getting the desired outcome. 1. When you call the broker and they either have no credit score listed or a very low score listed and your factoring company won’t approve them ask for a 50/50 pay split. Half up front when you get loaded at the shipper, then the remaining half once you ARRIVE at receiver but not before you’re empty. Gives them incentive to pay you if it hasn’t been unloaded yet. 2. If something seems fishy or skeptical about the broker when booking the load just very kindly and in a civilized manner ask the shipper when you’re checking in who is the broker for this load. If the brokers names don’t match then reach out to the broker the shipper provided you with and explain the situation and NEGOTIATE terms. In my opinion holding the load hostage doesn’t benefit you the carrier if you can’t get that product off your trailer.

15:18 It’s exactly what’s happening to me. They are using my MC number to book loads and I get 20 calls everyday for verification and we reported this to FBI and State attorney everywhere
1st off get some direct freight. If your buying a truck and obtaining your own authority to just go run the broker boards your NOT gonna last long anyway. That’s a pathetic business model and is destined for failure. The only way running under your own authority is if you have a good customer or customers you bill direct and only use broker freight to get back to your regular customer. Otherwise your way better off leasing to a stable carrier that has freight, does all your filings, pays you every week or after every load, and offers fuel discounts, tire discounts etc. It’s ridiculous to have your own authority with no idea what your gonna do tomorrow.
@@Plowguitarist NOBODY is out here with new Authority running all direct freight. You sound crazy. Im out here everyday and been running my own for the last 3yrs. Direct shippers are few and far in between. The loadboard unfortunately is the life blood for most O/O's out here
Trust me DAT Loadboard is no dummy they know the scamming is going on. But the money is so great from the scammers across America and other countries they can't say no.
Like about 6 months ago a truck showed up to the shipper to pick my load. It had all my load information. Thanks God the shipper has seen me before and thought it was suspicious. Shipper called the brocker asking if I had sent a different truck . I said nope. Shipper turned the away the other truck. They were trying to steal a load of copper.
Fmcsa, insurance company and the loadboard are part of the problem. He report the broker and it's taking them this long to cancel the broker authority. That broker authority pending cancelation with insurance but it's still active on fmcsa. They should have cancel it same day
I honestly feel bad for anyone being scammed especially a driver trying to raise a family.i wish all scammers would be dealt with in an abandoned building/house where there are no cops around.i always knew this crap happened but it stays in the dark.this guy is sharing with us and I greatly appreciate that.
I will go out of business in next week just because of double brokers , now load rates are less than $2 so we want to stay in this business to show people we are slaves of brokers . It's just crazy decision to work for free.
I consistently miss out on loads by doing my due diligence. It really sucks. We need to stop answering TQL calls, delete their app off our devices and stick to it. Soon that freight will get tendered to another brokerage and we can negotiate rates from there. Allot of smaller brokerages have better rates than larger ones. TQL is dedicated to getting loads booked for at LEAST 10% lower than the 15 day average provided by DAT.
I catch Double Brokers daily got about 200 missed calls and maybe 50 emails this week alone... from DBs trying to get a POD... FOH! Last load they tried to take $800 off the load... oh so they thought..
This happened to me about a month ago with an Amazon load. I personally caught this at the time of delivery and notified Amazon and they did nothing about it. I have a police report for future reference. Hopefully someone can start a Class Action Lawsuit against Amazon for allowing this to take place.
@@melissamcdonald1345 I was advised by a detective from the state of Florida to file a police report in the city and state where the crime was committed. So filed in the State of PENNSYLVANIA
@@melissamcdonald1345 I ask the same question because the crooks were from the State of Florida but Detective said to do it where load was delivered which was in Carlisle Pennsylvania.
I did happen to me also with Amazon load, I notified Amazon before I even delivered the load, I was advised by Amazon to deliver the load and Amazon will start investigating it, they started a case but it’s not going nowhere, there’s no one who could give me an answer Looks to me that Amazon is involved in this scam
There is an old saying that is relevant today as it was 20 years ago when I started in Transportation. “If it is to good to be true, it is.” Now the market rates in lanes you are running and if people are posting rates close to twice what market is bearing and basically giving to you over phone or email without trying to talk you down, probably going to get scammed.
Hey, what's the Surety bond company name? I'm in similar boat. They had virtual office in Indiana. I'm reporting to the FBI soon. Surety Co told me claims over $145k. I had my own BOL, so gonna have to sue the receiver for the load.
That’s why I’m always nervous when looking at loads and it shows to call a different number in the comments section than what the actual number shows for the company
We hauled something like this for this company called patriot equipment and kinda booked loads without checking their reviews ...but the damage was done and we already hauled about 4 shipments for them and still the guy owe me around 11k on those 4 shipments
This happen to us too and we tracked it all the way down to the original carrier who broker it out with their brokerage and went to the customer and even though they promised to pay us they are now refusing. This is so sad. I physically went to the broker/ carriers office and he was shocked and try to say he was scammed but I think he was the scammer because he had a few mc#’s!
I am the owner of carrier and they did exactly same thing to me..I did not know where to report them..I tried with FMCSA but they direct me to their website but I think that was wasting of time.I swallow those 2900$.they did not pay.I drove load from IL-NJ for free.
I’m still trying to figure out how to sue the fmsca , when I started my authority, I received atleast 20 scam calls a day due to the publishing of your information . Before that I received maybe one scam call a year . Good luck drivers !
If you figure it out let me know. My phone started ringing the day I submitted my paperwork online for my authority. So many scam artists pretending to be the FMCSA to scam you.
Same thing happened to me but with a dispatch service. Finding me loads and I was taking them and kept promising payments week after week but never showed. It was my fault for not catching it sooner but they got me for 7k. And I put the pieces to the puzzle together and it was a dispatch a consulting agent n a dealer rep involved. But we can't do anything and they aren't held responsible
Truckers I’m not in the field but know people in it and I know about it and Logistics interests me because I know it’s the most important part of any country without you gentlemen in the field of trucking nobody would get anything. From food supplies everything. Sad part most dumb people think supplies just appear like magic they have no understanding and others take advantage.
Can we get a petition going on to unionize and all truckers in unison shut down for a week or two /We are going to continue to get stories like these I have a bunch from Houston Texas
What's the problem shut down just like I did.i was off from November 15/2022 till March 6/23 ,work for 3 weeks and shut down again. NO WAY I PULL FOR 1.8 PER MILE. And for those 🐈⬛ who takes this load .good luck
All you have to do is look at their credit rating. If it is less than 90 then it’s a no for me. If they dont have one at all then it’s definitely fake. Use a factoring company also and this most likely won’t happen.
The blame can be put on FMCSA There is no reason brokerages shouldn't go under the same scrutiny that US as independent's do. We go through so many new laws being thrown at us that we must obey or we get fined. It's passed time for broker's to be judged as well
Trucking is the worst business you could ever get into !!! The cost of entry is too low! Any idiot with 5k down and no credit can get a truck. Most people have no business calling themselves a business . Too many people don’t know basic math they do t even research what’s the actual cost to run their business and the bottom line profit margins they get! I had 20 drivers and closed my business in march and switched to some😮totally different. The industry is taking advantage of all the individual truck owners and their is No government regulation for truck owner to keep them running profitable. Only government regulations there are is to put you out of business!
What i will say, is i would go after the loadboard companies personally make them financially obligated to pay for the work. Then they will start getting up out the chair and taking action to protect scams on freight. Take them to small claims court, or get a lawyer if you have enough scams on the plate.
These people know the average trucker doesn’t have the time or money to hire an attorney, file a lawsuit, and follow through with it (which might take years). So they are taking full advantage.
FBI are too busy going after being weaponized by pedophile in office to go after laptops and evidence to be stolen from people and hidden away and lied about not knowing where the evidence is about showering with his daughter et cetera principle across-the-board
I am listening Interview to Jason, it make very interesting information for owner operator. This is how I’m understanding what he explaining for a load.
Drivers need legal representative experienced in contract law, Article 7 of the Uniform Commercial Code (the "UCC") governs documents of title covering goods. It focuses primarily on rights in goods held by a bailee during the storage and shipment thereof and the transfer of such rights.
Collect a deposit before loading at shipping then make that call to the receiver to confirm it's scheduled booking it's called locking them in and collect the balance upon arriving at the receiver Before backing to unload And charge them an hourly rate if there is any on the brokers scheduling before dropping that load alway get your full pay at the end of your completion pay by credit or debit only no cash no checks.....
Trucking company have to have a agreement just like brokers have that brokers need to agree to too. Recently Alan lund pulled a shit on me, after picking up a load he said we don't pay detention or lay over. Shit I have never heard.
On a DAT load board there is option to search loads with factor able brokers. I always apply that option plus read reviews on DAT. If there is few reviews saying that broker doesn't pay I just skip that posted load because I have been burnt once 5 years ago same way as a guy on this video and lost $5500 on a run. If posted load pays to good to be true it's because you never gonna get paid.
I am so sorry that this is happening to you contractors/OO/Fleet Owners/etc. Thoughts and prayers are with y’all!❤ Thank you Alex for showing the REAL STUFF!
Same thing just happened to me I got scammed 15,000 😢😢😢😢 the exact same thing ....I have been hunting ever since both were Amazon loads !! Turned both into Amazon no one ever called us back ..we are a small mom and pop business
I might have a solution if about 200,000 truck drivers will come together and put some money like 5,000 each and get our owned truck company we can get like 4 companies with 1,700,000,,000 billion dollars with our owned brokerage and start running down these other companies with car hauling and refrigerated trailers ,dry vans trailer and flat beds and get a singed petitions to the fmsca get business owned that might solved a lot of problems

@@Plowguitarist NOBODY is out here with new Authority running all direct freight. You sound crazy. Im out here everyday and been running my own for the last 3yrs. Direct shippers are few and far in between. The loadboard unfortunately is the life blood for most O/O's out here
I’ve been running off the load board for a year, Soo you’re wrong lmao
Don’t take any freight for less than $3.00 per mile.
If it pays less, let it rot on their loading
dock.
What about $4.00 a mile freight you don't get paid for? That's the moral of the story here.
Trust me DAT Loadboard is no dummy they know the scamming is going on. But the money is so great from the scammers across America and other countries they can't say no.
Demand payment in advance including the Fuel surcharge paid in full before you pull out from their property
Or find out who took your money.
What?
Get real
Obviously not in the business
Obviously an idiot. No one EVER pays before services rendered except at a truck wash.
They should have cancel it same day
That company could be in another country
Scammers need to b found and deleted.
As a sole farmer retailer.
This development is very annoying 🇰🇪🇺🇲
That’s why 90% of my freight is direct.
I honestly feel bad for anyone being scammed especially a driver trying to raise a family.i wish all scammers would be dealt with in an abandoned building/house where there are no cops around.i always knew this crap happened but it stays in the dark.this guy is sharing with us and I greatly appreciate that.
Scamming is everywhere I almost got scammed at a gas pump
Hate to say it but if I hear an accent I'm backing out quick.
That's why I say bring back regulated freight !!! No brokers!!! Use brokers go broke !!!
The same thing happened to me in California they scam me $9,300
How do you find these people that do this and drag them behind a truck
Certain names are a RED FLAG. Always do your research when booking loads.
I'm willing to bet who ever these people are they ain't american
Are there some politicians or haven't you noticed something's going on there too same Principle🙄
I catch Double Brokers daily got about 200 missed calls and maybe 50 emails this week alone... from DBs trying to get a POD... FOH!
Last load they tried to take $800 off the load... oh so they thought..
This is fucked up truck drivers don't deserve to have to deal with cargo scams
This happened to me about a month ago with an Amazon load. I personally caught this at the time of delivery and notified Amazon and they did nothing about it. I have a police report for future reference. Hopefully someone can start a Class Action Lawsuit against Amazon for allowing this to take place.
How did you get a police report? The Virginia Police wouldn't do a police report...
@@melissamcdonald1345 I was advised by a detective from the state of Florida to file a police report in the city and state where the crime was committed. So filed in the State of PENNSYLVANIA
@@MarKar144 is that the state of the shipper , receiver, or our business? Because we tried to do it in the broker city and state.
@@melissamcdonald1345 I ask the same question because the crooks were from the State of Florida but Detective said to do it where load was delivered which was in Carlisle Pennsylvania.
I did happen to me also with Amazon load, I notified Amazon before I even delivered the load, I was advised by Amazon to deliver the load and Amazon will start investigating it, they started a case but it’s not going nowhere, there’s no one who could give me an answer
Looks to me that Amazon is involved in this scam
I know this dude still talk to em that did this...stole over 600k and he knew he had to save like 200k for lawyers n kept the rest
We have to learn how to learn how to broker our own load
I’m still trying to figure out how to sue the fmsca , when I started my authority, I received atleast 20 scam calls a day due to the publishing of your information . Before that I received maybe one scam call a year . Good luck drivers !
If you figure it out let me know. My phone started ringing the day I submitted my paperwork online for my authority. So many scam artists pretending to be the FMCSA to scam you.
Why do we even need brokers. Why cant the shipper directly post the load.
So don't take loads that your Factoring company denies! We've all done it but this is a lesson
Always check the brokers with your factoring co i know he said it was not factorble then due not take the load this or the consequences
This is the reason why I only run loads for brokers that is approved by my factoring company. If not approved, see you later alligator.
I did same thing I shut down since September 2022 I won pull any load for less than $3.00
If they aren't registered with Dunn and Bradstreet. No deals, No business
I had this same exact thing happen to me 2 years ago. Maddening!! Sorry this happened to you!
Fantastic video thx for the heads up
Surely there is a way for you to repo the load when faced with such things
This is considered an interstate crime. Interstate crimes should be sent to the FBI. The FBI should help track them down.
FBI are too busy going after being weaponized by pedophile in office to go after laptops and evidence to be stolen from people and hidden away and lied about not knowing where the evidence is about showering with his daughter et cetera principle across-the-board
Great journalism.
You should hold the product hostage until payment
You can not hold freight hostage. You then become the criminal and can and will be charged for stolen freight.
The loads not worth the shipping fee
@Stacy Saunders judge would disagree when it's clear they created a fake brokerage.
Is this happening to company driver's too? because my paycheck crumbs.
I am just a small brokerage in California i hate herring these stores.
Great Interview
Always clear the broker with your factoring company!!
Truckers should verify the broker at the time of pick-up.
Drivers should start demanding payment upon arrival.
Good luck with that. 🤣😂🤣
Those damn Brokers are at it again...same as it ever was.
File to the FEDERAL COURTS
Collect a deposit before loading at shipping then make that call to the receiver to confirm it's scheduled booking it's called locking them in and collect the balance upon arriving at the receiver
Before backing to unload
And charge them an hourly rate if there is any on the brokers scheduling before dropping that load alway get your full pay at the end of your completion
pay by credit or debit only no cash no checks.....
Trucking company have to have a agreement just like brokers have that brokers need to agree to too. Recently Alan lund pulled a shit on me, after picking up a load he said we don't pay detention or lay over. Shit I have never heard.
Now they use dispatching services to do the scams too
On a DAT load board there is option to search loads with factor able brokers.
Thoughts and prayers are with y’all!❤
Thank you Alex for showing the REAL STUFF!
Hello Alex. This dudes saying is perfect for one of your cool tee shirts. "Life to short to drive an ugly truck".
Same thing just happened to me I got scammed 15,000 😢😢😢😢 the exact same thing ....I have been hunting ever since both were Amazon loads !! Turned both into Amazon no one ever called us back ..we are a small mom and pop business
Lookup who their insurance is and file a lien against their bond asap,i did the same and got paid 60%
Don't book loads if you hear an accent 🤷🏽♂️
Go too there place of business and accidents happen
So how do we combat this type of shenanigans? Give solutions within your videos please
Run that by OOIDA and watch them behave as if you are the fool for thinking of such a great idea!
Government alphabet bureaucracies are part of the biggest problem🙄
Add the number of this scam company so all your listeners can call them.
You know, the more I think about it. We don't need brokers. Just customer to truck company that's it.
They aren’t middle Eastern buddy but Eastern European.
Just talk to the shipper and check. Takes one call to find out and your safe
