70's & older drag cars with 2020 technology is good and all..... but '70s and older drag cars with oldschol 70's drag technology is something else to watch! Just something about older 70s cars with manual trans, bangin through gears!
Great job with this video. Fabulous sound or useless commentating. Loved those wheelies. These races are much more exciting than contemporary drags. Plus, you show the times and speeds that's a huge benefit - people want to know who wins & their times. Keep up the outstanding video presentations.
Thank you who ever sent me this. My favorite times were having my 41 Willy's, my 48 fiat toppling, and my 37 chevy coupe.at the nostalgia drags. Big Al Lombardo
I liked the mindset of the second race… dude had a 77 camaro and like everyone he thought the front end was hideous, so he put a 70 1/2 front end on it. Kudos to you sir!
This is real drag racing. Old school is exciting, and I just love those classic muscle cars. They are the best looking cars that Detroit has ever made.
Feed my addiction! Been hooked on that V8 sound since I was three years old and my father took me on one of his drag races in his '67 327 Chevelle w/ a M22 transmission. I was amazed at how quick he could run through the gears and when I asked him how he did it, he told me he just never lets his foot off the gas and just tapped the clutch as he "threw" the gear lever. Once I grew old enough to race we lined up (me in my '67 Mustang fastback and him in a '87 Hurst Olds) and, while I got him on the hole shot, he out shifted me and won.
I lived on the west side of Chicago till the early 70's. We had Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge. And he had some classics. Distributor curbed and power tuned. Dyno timed and analyzed. Carburetor calibrated. Sun scoped set to go. I'm 68+ years old and remember the commercials like it was yesterday. Any other west siders out there?
I had them both I had 7 ..57 at one time had a 64 Malibu you couldn't put nothing else in it it come off the ground every time you shove it bring back memories watching these boys
That got my adrenaline up! Thunder Machines. Gotta love 'em. and I am double blessed because the Route 66 Cruise passes by my front porch in Springfield, MO. The cops get a little upset when someone untrailers a funny car, but they can't do much if it's street legal. They drew the line when someone pulled in with a Fuel Dragster. But the 426's, 427's, 428's, and 429's....and those paint jobs! I love me some weekend evenings.
omg....THAT FIRST CAMARO WAS AWESOME 😁💖 GREAT VIDEO-LOVE IT 👍! I grew up near a Dragstrip....the owner would let me use it when there were no races....The first time I drove up it in my Mustang Mach 1 I almost couldnt get stopped at the end of the strip!! So much fun 😂
@@AutoMotoCha9L Exactly! There's always a faster car but I've seen few that launch as hard and straight as that Chevy II with that much "finesse." Respect to the driver too.
Thank for the video ,been more years than i care to remember since I ran that track. Byron, Oswego ,Lake Geneva, Bobby Joe Speedway ,Meadowdale Speedway . Im still a gearhead today fifty years later.
Yes that 1967 Chevy red Nova has a badass that little car and the driver know both doing great car/// and you're right wheel stand or no stand// and he'shis focusing to win ( that's it )👍💵🤗

Would you believe that there was a "drag race" in the Bible. Sure thing, for around 930 B.C.E., after it had not rained in the land of Israel for 3 1/2 years, due to the apostasy of the ten tribe kingdom of Israel, so that God (whose personal name is Jehovah, Isa 12:2) caused "heaven (to be) shut up for three years and six months".(Luke 4:25) Just before the "drag race", a prophet of Jehovah, Elijah, came to Mt Carmel and met with the Baal prophets of Jezebel, King Ahab's wicked wife, in order to prove who was the "true God", that of Baal or Jehovah, for the nation was "limping between two different opinions".(1 Kings 18:21) The prophets of Baal started off things, by crying out to Baal, even cutting themselves, continuing "in a frenzy until the evening grain offering is presented, but there was no voice and no one answering; no one was paying attention."(1 Kings 18:28, 29) Then it was Elijah's time to call to Jehovah, rebuilding an altar that had been dedicated to the worship of Jehovah, but had been torn down, having large amount so water poured all around it repeatedly. Elijah now steps forward and said: "O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, today let it be known that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and that it is by your word that I have done all these things. Answer me, O Jehovah ! Answer me so that this people may know that you, Jehovah, are the true God and that you are turning their hearts back to you."(1 Kings 18:36, 37) "At that the fire of Jehovah fell from above and consumed the burnt offering, the pieces of wood, the stones, and the dust, and it licked up the water from the trench. When all the people saw it, they immediately fell facedown and said: “Jehovah is the true God! Jehovah is the true God !”(1 Kings 18:38, 39) Now we are coming up to the "drag race", whereby Elijah tells King Ahab: "Go up, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy downpour."(1 Kings 18:41) So, while Ahab was eating and drinking, "E·liʹjah went up to the top of Carʹmel and crouched on the ground, keeping his face between his knees", asking his attendant if he saw anything in the sky, to which the attendant kept saying no for six times. Elijah told his attendant to go back for a seventh time, in which the attendant saw a "small cloud like a man's hand ascending out of the sea". Elijah now tells Ahab: "Hitch up the chariot ! Go down so that the downpour may not detain you."(1 Kings 18:42-44) "Meanwhile, the sky grew dark with clouds, the wind blew, and a heavy downpour fell; and Aʹhab kept riding and made his way to Jezʹre·el. But the hand of Jehovah came on E·liʹjah, and he wrapped his garment around his hips and ran ahead of Aʹhab all the way to Jezʹre·el."(1 Kings 18:45, 46) Elijah, with the "hand of Jehovah" carrying him along, outran King Ahab's chariot that was at "full throttle", all the way to Jezreel, a distance of perhaps some 19 miles. Now that was a real "drag race". What does this tell you ? That with Jehovah's help, even seemingly impossible feats can be accomplished. In the future, more seemingly impossible feats will be done by Jehovah, for those who are his people, such as erasing sin and death (Isa 25:6-9) as well as transforming the earth into a paradise for "meek" ones.(Matt 5:5; Luke 23:43)

The black 67 or 68 Camaro is awesome. I’ve always loved drag racing. I turned 16 in 1973 it was an awesome time. I really miss those days. 😎
You can always tell a 67 to a 68 cuz the 68 has lights in the fenders no lights in the 67's!!!
Good times
Drag raced for years on test & tune night with my 1985 iroc z28 383 stroker!! Very fast car!! Still got it !!😠💪
