✅ The Haney Soil Test! 🍀🌻🌱

  • ❓ Do you have questions about the Haney Soil Health Test❓❓
➡️ ➡️ Tune in because Dr. Rick Haney has the answers!
In this interview, Rick breaks down the major differences in a regular, traditional soil analysis compared to the Haney test analysis.
The Haney test, for example, shows the farmer what nutrients are actually plant available. 🌻🌻
➡️This is very different than standard soil testing that uses strong acids to essentially break apart soil and nutrient bonds.
➡️ These nutrients are what typical fertilizer recommendations are based on as they will likely be available for the upcoming growing season.
Rick further discusses the common misconceptions about the Haney test (not being calibrated for example). We also get to hear about how much money farmers are saving by using this assessment in addition to how much fertility nature is providing freely if we have an active soil biology.
Lastly, we discuss soils as a static system or a dynamic system. By looking at our soils dynamically, we have the opportunity to evaluate carbon to nitrogen ratios, microbial activity (think soil biology), CO2 respiration, inorganic & organic nitrogen, and actually receive a Soil health score.
Rick and his wife, Dr. Liz Haney, are credited with coming up with the "Haney Soil Health Test". Rick has worked for several years at the USDA Grasslands Soil & Water Research Lab in Temple, Texas as a soil scientist. Now retired, Rick and Liz provide regenerative agriculture services across the country. 🍀🌱

This video was recorded in Washington, Iowa after the Continuum Ag Field Day. Hosted by Mitchell Hora, speakers included Rick Clark, Russell Hedrick, Zach Johnson, and Jessica Gnad.
✅ Rick Clark farms 7,000 acres and has converted his farm to to no-till planting with diverse cover crops and is nearly 100% organic. A quick video interview can be viewed here: • Farmin' Green w/ Rick ...
✅ Russell Hedrick is a first generation farmer who raises corn, soybeans, and specialty grains in Hickory, North Carolina. He's a progressive no-till farmer and also distills/sells Seventeen Twelve bourbon. regenfarming.news/articles/45...
✅ Zach Johnson, known as the Minnesota Millennial farmer, farms with his family, is the co-host of Field Work, and has a very popular TH-cam channel: / @millennialfarmer
✅ Jessica Gnad is the executive director and co-founder of Great Plains Regeneration. greatplainsregen.org/home-1

      Thanks Marvin! ✅
Absolutely a bunch of great information if we allow ourselves to think outside the box.
We have so much to learn about the underground herd....soil biology!

I would like to do more alternative testing to the soil vs. the typical testing.
