Don Norman - World Design Festival powered by Tijuana Design Week

Don has retired five times since 1993, first from founding the Cognitive Science Department at UC San Diego, then working at Apple as a UX Architect, and later establishing UC San Diego’s Design Lab in 2020. Currently, he serves on the board of NN/g and The Don Norman Design Award and Summit charity. The essence of the Don Norman Design Award (DNDA) is rooted in the principles from Don Norman’s book, “Design for a Better World: Meaningful, Sustainable, Humanity Centered,” published by MIT Press in 2023, which underpins our organization’s philosophy. He is only 88 years old, so he looks forward to many more activities.
